Black owned restaurant in the heart of Harlem. Great ambience and service . Food was just ok - nothing spectacular.

Was here again last night to celebrate a friends bday. Service was a bit slow but the food definitely made up for it. It was well worth the wait. My friend had a special bday menu. I ordered the beets salad as my appetizer and the seafood risotto for my entrée. As I said previously, it was well worth the wait. Food was really really good.

Renaissance embodies the vibe of Harlem. The drinks were delicious. The flounder, jollof rice and plantains were cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes to enjoy good music, food and hospitality.

Delicious food! Attended during brunch and didn't realize. It was epic. There was a lively crowd and a DJ playing the best throwback hits. I asked for the dinner menu and to be seated outside for a more intimate conversation with my friend. It was so gorgeous and sunny already, thanks to the warmer weather. I got Red Snapper and jollof rice with plantains, amazing. Cleaned my plate. We also got dumplings as an appetizer and omg it came with the most delicious hot sauce so I kept it to eat with my entree as well. Lovely menu, lots to enjoy.

I came here for my bday. Was so happy to be in Harlem again. This place was sort of walking distance from the train about 2-3 block walk. I sat outside in the patio area and they had a DJ come and play some great beats. I selected the $50 lunch deal which came with bottomless mimosas for $50. Keep in mind this is NOT a shareable meal. I thought it was fair and reasonable. Also to note, they don't have tap water only bottled for $6 and it's a small one. The food smelled delish but was dry lol the mussels were definitely delicious. Chefs kiss. But I mean the rice and the fish was so dry. My partner had the chicken sandwich and it was so tough he didn't even eat it. Really went for the vibes at that point. lol would go again for the drinks but mot again for the food because it was no good.

Always nice popping in for some yummy food with actual flavor and spice. There's a nice lunch menu at yr is sure to get you satisfied. Staff is always helpful, polite and welcoming. Ambiance is warm and chill. I think I might need to pop in more often for a nice lunch.

I could eat here every night. The food is consistently delicious no matter what you order. The staff is super attentive and provides service with a smile. The chef should have a Michelin star by now. Great food and pleasant vibes make for a wonderful restaurant.

This place has a nostalgic feel -- from the decor to the colors and layout, you can tell there's been real effort to make it comfortable and inviting. We came as a group of 12, and it seemed like the staff may have been a bit overwhelmed. Food and drinks took a while to arrive, but were friendly and helpful nonetheless. The food was hearty -- I ended up taking some home. I played it safe with my order since the menu was new to me. The flavors were decent, kinda monotoned- no layers or heights of the senses. A live DJ added a nice touch, playing what we like and taking requests. This is another "I came, I saw..." kind of spot. I don't see myself feeling the urge to return.

My Grown & Sexy Ladies chose to have our Secret Santa at the Renaissance Harlem Restaurant. I must say our hosts Gziz and Corbyn took care of us like we were family. We had a great time eating and drinking. I had The Pan Seared flounder, Jollof Rice and Sauteed Spinach, Tish had the Grilled Codfish, Mashed Potatoes, spinach in Bearnaise Sauce and Diane had the Steakhash, Scrambled Egg & Hollandaise Sauce. The food was excellent and seasoned very well. They had this hot sauce that was saucinggg. The sangria was good with the extra gria our gurl was putting. The music was on point and the vibe was vibing. I recommend Renaissance Harlem for a brunch, lunch dinner and a gurlz day out.... We will definitely be back there

Renaissance Harlem is a vibe and food is great ! Food: the food is amazing omg! The curry mussels, baked chicken, grilled cod fish, and the chicken dumplings were amazing. The food is prepared in real time preserve the authentic tastes. Service: the service was amazing. Everyone was very attentive, provide clear insight of the various food items, provided refills, and had a great personality that is relatable. Ambiance: the location is capable of intimate setting but also provide spacing for large groups. The location is updated and very clean. Overall score is 4.9/5

Walked in on a cold Saturday night around 11pm. The place was empty only two other patrons at the bar. They looked as if the waiter/bartender made sure they were having a good time (with nice strong drinks of course) & the music was GOOD! We were seated immediately with the very attentive waiter/bartender. Ordered drinks and food. Drinks were very good. Good came out rather quickly. Everything tased amazing. My friend raved about being happy we chose this location to eat for the night. (It was also bookmarked on my Yelp profile. I'm glad to have knocked it off the lists) I had the Salmon with mini vegetables. My friend had a steak. We also ordered sides that were great. We tried escargot for the first time. As per my video, it's not my thing. Ha!! I couldn't not stomach it. But I'm sure if you're into it, it's great because my friend ate it all. Would definitely visit again everything was great!

Snapper with Jollof rice . VERY good

Must say, the food and bottomless drinks here were great! Our waiter was very accommodating after having us wait over an hour for my $200 paid reservation to get enough space for 14 guests to sit together. I came for my birthday and had a great time! Minus the unavailability of seating for a large group. They had a dj and drinks flowing the whole time. It was a bit tight inside, but maybe when it's nicer out, it can feel more spacious with the outside seating! I'll def be back but with less people for sure! Highly recommend brunch here. Would def give 5 stars if it wasn't for the inconvenience.

Ginger Martini with vodka..Kettel one dirty martini..Grilled Whole Fish Branzino.. Pan Seared Flounder .. Jollof Rice.

Had an amazing time at brunch today. Got there a little early and was greeted warmly by staff. Decided to have a martini at the bar while waiting for the rest of party to arrive. The Kettel One Martini was perfect. We were a party of 5 and started with the calamari which was perfectly seasoned, fresh and crispy. I ordered the whole branzino which was wonderfully prepared, seasoned well which paired perfectly with the delicious joloff rice. The jollof rice is so flavorful here and will complement any dish you order. I tasted the seafood pasta ordered by my niece and it was delectable. Everyone was satisfied with their meal and I can see this place quickly becoming our favorite. Amazing food and drinks combined with superb service, what more can one ask for. These dishes are prepared with love.!

My best friend and I each ordered the prix fixe menu, and it was a journey from start to finish. I began with the Spicy Corn & Coconut Soup--honestly, unforgettable. The crispy shallots added just the right amount of texture against the velvety base, and each spoonful layered flavor in a way that felt both comforting and elevated. For my main, I had the kichuri, and Chef Alex Guzman absolutely shines here. He is a star--full stop. There's a clarity and confidence in his cooking that you can taste. The whipped cream was fresh and airy, the lime zest bright without overpowering, and the crust tied everything together beautifully. The space itself is genuinely beautiful -- dim lighting, warm decor, and a moody, inviting atmosphere that makes it feel like a proper grown-up neighborhood spot. The service matched the room. Our server was attentive, gracious, and knowledgeable, and the front of house clearly knows what they're doing. The food, unfortunately, didn't live up to the rest of the experience. The pork chop arrived dry, which is hard to forgive on a cut that should be the kitchen's pride. The steak was competently cooked but unremarkable -- no real seasoning, no char to speak of, nothing that set it apart from a passable home-cooked version. For a restaurant at this price point, the kitchen should be delivering more. I'd happily come back for cocktails at the bar -- the n and the staff deserve that. But on the food alone, there are better options in the neighborhood.

My friend and I were looking for a place for dessert and drinks, so we stumbled into the Cordial. I ordered the prosecco, and we tried the chocolate fondue and a pear dessert. The bartender took our order; he told us that the chocolate fondue came with seasonal fruits, which he told us came with bananas, strawberries, and apples. When he gave us the desserts, the fruits on the plate were nothing, he told us. It had mango, apple, and figs (my friend is allergic to mango), so she was only able to eat only the 5 little apple pieces that were on the plate, and the figs were very mushy. The pear dessert was not so great. So I asked the bartender if he could exchange the pear dessert for more fruits for the chocolate fondue. Again, it was random different fruits; the second round of fruits was figs, oranges, and grapefruit. Cordial is small, so you can see the chefs cooking in the kitchen. With that being said, you can see one of the chefs washing dishes with gloves on and then proceeding to eat a mango with the same glove and then preparing the meals he cleaned dishes and ate with. It was so unsanitary. I just got disgusted and disappointed quickly after watching him. The sad part is that I and my friend were super happy to find a chill place to go and hang out near where we reside, but unfortunately I'm not sure I'll go back.

The chocolate fondue was great and the poached pear was okay, we ended up sending it back because it wasn't what we expected, no biggie tho shit happens. Upon looking around that's when we noticed one of the chefs making a disgusting mistake. He was wearing the same gloves he used to wash dirty dishes to prepare foods we and the entire restaurant ate. Not only that but he was also eating the fruits he cut with those same gloves! Did I eat the germs off someone else's plate while he was washing the dishes? Probably! It's really a shame and a disgrace to this beautiful restaurant. To top it all off the server was also taking shots on the job and seemed to get more hammered with each shot. Read on if you desire genuine knowledge and only dine out with intention. First, and most importantly, shouts to Myles and the team working this day. The salmon in my Jerk Salmon Bowl and my friend's Atlantic Salmon Bowl was flaky, tender, juicy, and perfect. The rices (white with Jerk, black forbidden with Atlantic) confirmed and celebrated what Chef JJ Johnson wrote in his must-have book The History of Rice. This is to say there is no rice like FIELDTRIP rice: soft, sturdy, sweet, savory, herby, attaches to sauce and protein and vegetables when you want it to, remains on its own when you simply want to enjoy it by itself. The plantains and greens that accompany are ridonkulous icing on the salmon sundae. If you aren't a fan of Brussels sprouts, you likely have good reasons. And, you owe it to yourself to order Crispy Brussels. Besides being cooked so they are toothsome, textured, and still sweet, they're quartered or sixthed, which makes them easier to enjoy and perfect carriers for the crispy bits that top them. I love oxtail. To enjoy this rarely served beef element in a perfectly wrapped and fried egg roll added to my adoration. After bite one, I literally unwrapped my half to see how the shredded meat was coexisting. No saucing was necessary, though the Avocado Cilantro and New Jack Sticky BBQ (both of which were enjoyed by me via spoon) would have enhanced the roll most righteously. Lastly, when you dine in or take away from FIELDTRIP, you need Nana's Bread. It is what you might enjoy if a freshly made flour tortilla, naan, pita, and focaccia met, joined, and were put through a presser. I would dip and dredge Nana's Bread in everything. This place was literally a two-minute walk from my aunt's house. The inside was nice and spacious with plenty of seating. I decided to take my order to go. I got the oxtail egg roll and the mambo-glazed roast chicken bowl. The egg roll was not as good as I anticipated. It was missing something, and I can't quite identify what that something was. The bowl did not disappoint, I really enjoyed it! Those crispy Brussels sprouts were the highlight of the bowl! I'll most definitely go back and highly recommend it.

Of course we required 'doggie bags' to take home leftovers. - For Brunch we indulged on their: - Deviled Eggs, Cornbread, Fried Chicken on waffle, Red Velvet pancake with eggs and maple bacon, and Double Smashed Cheeseburger with Fries. Yes, we will have to work off the calories tomorrow, but so worth it! Good list of wines, beers, cocktails and various libations. Friendly staff and servers, although often moving at a slow pace. However, each were very friendly, warm and helpful with inquiries. Irie!

Not that I didn't expect that but, it was too loud to even hear your table side guest. Things were pricey, and some food items weren't available. Maybe try again but, it's iffy.
