Just had lunch here this afternoon, and it was worth the cab ride. My panini (the "Bird") was absolutely tasty! Good stuff.

Best sandwich place in the area. I love the Big Papi, which is a pressed sandwich with black forest ham, cheese, pickles, and chipotle mayo, and the spicy bagel sandwich with sausage, cheese and hot peppers. All the ingredients are so fresh and tasty, and the staff is friendly and cool about special requests or substitutions. I wish Blunch was closer to work because I can only make it there on Saturdays (they are not open Sundays). read more

I made the effort and walked here in annoying mist-rain weather because I'd heard so many good things, I had to try it! I got 'the Fish' tuna pressed sandwich, which was healthy and delicious on multi grain bread! I love that the tuna was very light on the mayo and the sandwich came warm and pressed even though it comes without any cheese (often, places won't press a tuna sandwich unless it's a "melt"). My friend and I shared a home-made chocolate chip cookie at the end because the smell of fresh-baked cookies was too amazing to pass up. The cookie itself was good, not my favorite, yet the owner herself cut it in half for us! This is a great sandwich place and definitely one to consider when deciding on catering for an office lunch. read more

Dude, Boston - if you got the extra time while visiting the area - check this place out - I'd recommend sometime around breakfast/lunch = blunch. Yes this place is a legit contender in terms of my mouth. To best describe the location is to find a little oasis in a land of brick/concrete near a hospital. I had a widget - BLTC = bagel with bacon lettuce tomato and cheese. It came with a creamy spicy sauce and a chocolate chip cookie. I also got an original coca cola in a glass bottle. It hit the Damn Spot and it was under 10 bucks! I work at Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program across the street and it is really too bad that I rarely have enough time to enjoy a sandwich from blunch. I have been there three times and always gotten their vegetarian sandwich... yummy! What was really out of this world was a chocolate chip muffin my Mom ordered. SOOOO good. Yep this place is delicious. I picked out a chocolate chip cookie and a bagel with salmon and cream cheese. The cookie smelled so good I couldn't wait until after the bagel. No mistakes were made, the cookie was gooey and delicious. Next the lox. So. Freaking. Good. If bagels made you trim I'd be the skinniest person on the planet. Really great place! It can get very busy and the seating is very limited, under 500 square feet total as we were told by one of the staff, so if it's cold out try to find a seat before ordering or you may end up in the cold. My boyfriend and i stopped in here yesterday to grab some lunch. First of all, the space is so cute, really inviting and cozy. We were immediately greeted by two people that worked there, and they were really nice and welcoming, which is rare nowadays. The sandwich menu is a good size, there is definitely something for everyone. They also have delicious sounding breakfast sandwiches available all day, and a selection of homemade pastries. I couldn't decide what to order, and with encouragement from the woman working there, I got "The Bird" and my boyfriend got the "Lower East Side". After a short 2-3 minute wait, our sandwiches were ready and they smelled delicious. They were good. Ridiculously good. The chicken in my sandwich was real sliced chicken breast (not that gross chicken a lot of other sandwich places use). The bread was so fresh, and all the ingredients worked so well together, you can tell a lot of thought went into their menu. My boyfriend's sandwich was also amazing, everything tasted homemade and not store bought. I'm so excited to go back to Blunch, the woman behind the counter was telling us about her crustless quiches with homemade boursin cheese and either meat or marinated tomatoes. She explained she started making them for people allergic to gluten, but they have become a huge hit for breakfast, or with a salad for lunch. Solid egg, cheese, and sausage breakfast sandwich. I couldn't help but feel like I was eating a really delicious McDonald's egg mcmuffin, probably because they roll wasn't homemade, neither was the sausage. So i think blunch is good, but not awesome. This place is right down the street from me. They offer delicious breakfast sandwiches and out of this world coffee. They always have perfectly brewed coffee. The place is small so don't go with a large crowd. This place loses a star for not being open on Sundays. read more

Best hidden gem of boston. Long lines Saturday morning at flour? Come over here for an out of this world Eggwich. I was always hesitant about egg sandwiches. For some reason, McMuffins always came to my mind but I have been getting more and more into eggs and the eggwich here jumped out at me after a recent trip to Boston Medical Center. This eggwich isn't any old egg sandwich. The eggs are well seasoned with herbs, light and fluffy. I customized it with goat cheese and roasted tomatoes. I could eat one right now it was so good. There are a ton of options too. I got mine on a toasted everything bagel. The service was quite good. The sandwiches looked delish as well and they had a few vegetarian options. The place is tiny but super cute and they have wireless After reading the rave reviews about the chocolate chip cookies, I got one to go. It was definitely fresh, soft chewy with gooey chocolate. Just not the type of cookie I prefer-I am more of a crispy cookie fan. It was good though. I will definitely return soon. I can't wait to try some of their lunch sandwiches but may just go for a delicious eggwich again. read more

This is a tiny breakfast/lunch foods restaurant that is well-loved by Boston Medical and BU employees and students--with good reason! Why suffer through hospital cafeteria food when you can walk a few blocks for fresh, near-gourmet food served with a smile at prices that won't break the bank. As a vegetarian, I always test a place out based on their veggie burger, and you guys, theirs "The Boca" is by far the best I've ever had in almost 8 years in Boston. It is obviously homemade, with whole peas and other veggies evident, yet it holds together well enough to eat it without getting too messy. It comes on a fresh fluffy bun and loaded with roasted red peppers, baby greens, tomatoes, and cheese. (Also a special sauce that is to die for). I also enjoyed The Provencal, which is a wonderful mix of gourmet veggies and goat cheese on a sub. My only two negatives are minor. One of their sandwiches is marked vegetarian, when it has tuna fish on it. (Not veg, guys). Since that's one of 4 veg sandwiches, it'd be nice if that got swapped out for a truly veg sandwich. Second, I had the breakfast egg sandwich, and I know this is an odd complaint, but there was too much egg on it. Although the egg was fresh, fluffy, and delicious, it was over an inch thick. Way more than I bargained for. The owner, who seems to almost always be there, is a true sweetheart with a vested interest in improving the days of her customers. I will note that if you're a local or work nearby you may want to call ahead for pick-up because this place is hopping at typical breakfast/lunch times (with good reason!) read more

This is like those road-side-carts-with-amazing-food I am used to in India. This isn't exactly a cart but a small shop with unimpressive ambience. But the food is not so unimpressive. Gourmet sandwiches at affordable prices = 5-STAR BRUNCH!!!! I went there a weekday morning. The place was kind of busy, and full of local people (usually a good sign). We ordered the salmon bagel and a sandwich. DELICIOUS!!!! Specially the bagel. And prices are super affordable; we pay $25 for the meal (including coffees and orange juices). Places like Local Food's in Houston (which is really popular) charge double for the same kind of sandwiches... I love this place, after being told to try this place from the ordinary place around BMC that I usually try don't get me wrong I can go for a subway sandwich anytime, but I'm hooked for sure "the giving tree" is amazing I swapped out the turkey for the chicken and added tomatoe, onion and bacon "the other giving tree" lol and today after the sandwich was missing the bacon not only did they give me a fresh sandwich but they also gave me a churro which I usually get but didn't...THANK YOU GUYS YOU ROCK!!! I went here with a my Groupon which I bought because of all the great reviews on Yelp. I was very disappointed with my food. I had a the smoked salmon with boursin on a whole wheat bagel. They construct this sandwich open faced with the salmon on the bagel then chopped tomatoe then a ball of boursin chese then way too much dried dill over everthing. In order to proprly eat it you need to dissasemble it spread the cheese on the bread and then put the salmon on the cheese then the chopped tomatoes and oh yah wipe off some of the died dill. The smoked salmon was not very good eithier. I will go back at least once to try something else as I still have 1 Groupon. read more

My fiancée works at BMC right across the street and I often go visit him to have lunch at Blunch. The first sandwich I ever had there was The Giving Tree, I remember it well and order it often. My favorite is often The Fish, but since I'm on a diet, I pretty much stick with The Boca over greens. If I weren't mostly vegetarian I would be trying all their sandwiches and I'd probably love them all. I like sitting at the counter and looking out the big window, much better than television. There's always help yourself water out, which I think every place of business should have. Nicki, the owner, and often server, is very nice and friendly. She remembers everybody's name, makes sure everyone is happy, and treats the regulars with much generosity. The place only feels small when the lunch rush is on, but we've never had to wait for a seat by the time our food is ready (not long). The prices are a good deal for what you get. Portions aren't too big or too small, and it's all delicious. Best sandwiches in Boston! read more

I LOVE Blunch. This is by far the greatest sandwich place in the area. Everyone who works there is extremely nice and they make an effort to learn your name if you go there frequently. The sandwiches are delicious, ingredients are fresh, and the menu is great. They also offer a "whim" every day, which is a sandwich that is not on the menu. I've tried several "whims" and they are all delicious. The Provencal is my favorite sandwich on the menu. I HIGHLY recommend trying this place out! You definitely won't be disappointed. read more
