Crab cake with Brussels sprouts and potatoes

This visit was part of a girls weekend. Even though Baltimore is fairly local since I'm in the DMV I'd never been to this place before. On the drive up to it I'm wondering what is in this industrial strip mall? But it's a gem. The atmosphere is pretty cool inside. There are a few different zones of seating. There's the bar area, areas of long tables (great for large parties), a loft feel in some places with tall ceilings in some areas and regular height in others. The menu is vast and I was feeling like a crab cake. The crabcake was great, almost no filler, the mashed potatoes were creamy. The arugula and goat cheese salad was very refreshing and the service was attentive and high-quality. Everyone in my party of 7 was pleased with their food. a happy find!

We stopped to dine at Bluestone once again on our way up 83 N. They offer a Sunday special, which is a three course option. You can choose any soup or greens, an entrée, and then dessert. It was very tempting, however, we were only ordering for lunch. To start they gave us a warm, crusty rolls, which were yummy. Hubby enjoyed a bowl of Maryland crab soup and the shrimp salad wrap, and I had a chicken and avocado salad, which was fresh, delicious, and enormous. I took half of it home for lunch tomorrow! Cage was a great server. Both personable and attentive. This is a large, clean restaurant with a nice clean bathroom as well as a full bar. Lots of private spaces for a larger party as well. Employees were all very friendly. Definitely not our last time here!

This was my first time dinning at this restaurant and I decided to give it a try during restaurant week. The service and ambiance of the restaurant were great. I had the Yuletide eggnog cocktail, cream of crab soup, ocean and gulf entree and creme brulee. The food was delicious and I look forward to returning for more goodness.

I came here for Father's Day. The experience was average, but I would return to have a better experience I know they are capable of. GLOWS: -I enjoyed the beet salad and the chicken fran entree. I appreciated that there were some lighter options on the menu. -Bread is complimentary, which is a nice touch. GROWS: - Our service was friendly, but a little scattered. We had to wait a while to be check on and to receive our check. We came early to beat the crowd, but I think some larger parties coming in started to overwhelm the server. -Certain utensils were not as clean as they should be. The drying techniques also left a lot of stains on the wine glasses, which took away from the aesthetic.

This was my first visit to Bluestone Restaurant in Timonium, and it definitely won't be my last! From the outside, the place gives off the look of a seafood house tucked into a business park--but as soon as you step inside, you're transported somewhere else entirely. The foyer greets you with beautiful artwork and flowers in a cozy seating area, and the entire restaurant is tastefully decorated, including the bar and both dining floors. We had a 1:00 PM reservation and were seated right away. Our servers were warm, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the menu, which made our experience even better. The restaurant wasn't overcrowded, allowing us to enjoy our lunch in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Let's talk about the food and drinks--amazing. I started with the Strawberry Chocolate Martini--delicious, smooth, and full of flavor. I followed that up with an Espresso Martini, which was equally impressive. We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes, and I have to say, they were out of this world--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. For my entrée, I had the Seafood Club which came stacked with a perfectly cooked crab cake, crispy bacon, and shrimp salad. I swapped out the fries for the Bacon Brussels Sprouts, and I'm so glad I did--they were a hit! Every dish on our table was beautifully presented and absolutely tasty. To end the meal, I couldn't resist trying the Key Lime Pie. It was the perfect balance of tart and sweet--so flavorful and the perfect finish to a great dining experience. Overall, Bluestone exceeded my expectations. Beautiful ambiance, fantastic service, and food that hits all the right notes. Five stars all the way! I'll definitely be returning to explore more of the menu.

Loved my first experience at Bluestone! Went for lunch during Preakness weekend and was pleased by the experience - our server was attentive and so kind , as were the other employees we came across. All entrees were fantastic - I love that they served the mahi tacos with additional salsa on the side! Don't sleep on the side of brussel sprouts - they were a highlight of the visit! Crabcake sandwich was also very good, with a good ratio of crab to breadcrumb The perfect place for a nice lunch or a casual dinner - each nook of the restaurant had a slightly different vibe which fits any occasion!

After spending the afternoon at Towson Center, we headed to this super popular seafood restaurant and it did not disappoint. The place was packed , but the staff were really friendly and quickly brought us to the spacious and modern indoor dining area. The seafood was easily a 9 out of 10 overall, and here's how we'd rate each dish: Two-Way Tuna - 9.5/10 The raw tuna was incredibly fresh, smooth, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The fried rice underneath was full of flavor and paired perfectly. This dish really stood out. Crisfield Stew - 9/10 A hearty portion loaded with shrimp, scallops, and fish. The sweet and tangy tomato broth made everything even more flavorful. Perfect comfort food. Complimentary Bread - 8/10 Soft, slightly chewy with a gelatinous texture. Surprisingly addictive. Salad - 7/10 Light and refreshing, good as a starter but nothing too memorable. Crab Soup - 6/10 Pretty average, didn't quite meet the bar set by the other dishes. Overall, a great dining experience. A lovely spot for catching up with friends or enjoying a cozy date.

I dined at BlueStone again with some friends and we sat in a really nice, well-lit area. Food- I enjoyed everything. This time I chose the Ceassr salad over the soup and was very satisfied with how crisp and fresh the lettuce was along with the shaved Parmesan cheese. The bread was warm and soft as if it had just come out the oven. The crab and artichoke dip with pita bread was a shareable and delicious. My margarita with a little extra simple syrup was extremely good. I ordered the salmon with spicy sauce and double Brussel sprouts which I only took a few bites from due to being stuffed. What I tasted was mouth watering. Not to mention, it was great having it as leftovers the following day. I did eat my crème brûlée . Our server, Savannah was on her A game. Super friendly, great personality and didn't miss a beat. She was the bomb.com. I will definitely be returning. One more thing, I love the three course specials on Sundays!

We came for restaurant week lunch on a Sunday but it turned out they didn't offer the lunch option since they always do a "restaurant week" style menu on Sundays, so we ordered off their dinner menu. Wish the website had been updated to reflect this! Mini crab cakes: 3.8/5, they had a great amount of meat but it was a little salty and could've used more sauce Maryland crab soup: 5/5, nice deep seafood and tomato flavor, generous amounts of crab, and salted perfectly! Crisfeld stew: 5/5, again generous portions of seafood, scallops were cooked well which I find rare in stew since they tend to get overcooked! Bread: fresh bread to accompany our meal and was a perfect add to the soups Mousse: 4/5 a little too sweet for us but great texture Our server was a little rude when we were asking questions about the menu discrepancy. Not a great way to start off the meal but the other servers at the restaurant seemed kind and helpful without attitude!

We met friends for a Saturday night dinner. This restaurant has been on my list for a while so I was super excited to give it a try. Their menu did not disappoint. From apps to drinks to entrees and dessert, everything was delicious. No Notes. I do wish they had crab dip. My husband wasn't a super fan of the cream of crab soup but admittedly, we are crab snobs. The bacon on the bluestone salad should be sold! Delicious! My broiled crab cake was very good. Little filling, and mildly seasoned so you can taste the crab - just how I like it. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and their food as well. Our waiter was attentive and kept bread and water on the table. It's a beautiful setting inside and out, and there's a great bar area if you want to just stop in on a whim to watch a game with yummy apps. I would return!

Came for happy hour with a huge group. Our server should've been helped out, but he did the best he could. Customer service and atmosphere were pretty good. Ordered the: Bang bang shrimp: 10/10 calamari was a surprise. Great sauce. Crab cake bites: 9/10 very good Shrimp flatbread: 8/10 pretty cool safe bet Fried green tomatoes: 10/10 fried well, flavorful 4 Hennessy vsop: $72 2 patron silver: $28 Definitely recommend happy hour prices, everything else seemed a little pricey.

If you park on the upper side there are extremely steep steps. Park on the same side as the post office/entrance to the comedy club and there are no steps. There is an outside seating area as well. The inside has moody vibes and says speakeasy but out in the open. The inside isn't large, but comfortable with seating at the bar and several high tops. There are a gazillion bourbons and they even have flights. There's also a fully stocked bar for any drink you want. They have 2 beers on tap and tons of bottle/can options. However, I strongly encourage you to try the cocktails. These are elevated cocktails in the sense that the combination of liquors and mixers really make great pairings. The side car was great. We also tried the Naughty and Nice (perfect blend of spice and sweet), Port of Manhattan (the addition of the port takes this classic to the next level), and the Corpse Reviver #2 which was our absolute surprisingly favorite. The glass is washed with absinthe (see photo). Not only was it super cool to see, but the after taste after each sip was amazing with this addition to the drink. We are not gin drinkers but this was delicious! Venture off of your normal order and explore these incredible crafty and well thought out cocktails that you will thoroughly enjoy and appreciate for the art that they are. The menu was very good as well. The chorizo queso was delicious and the German Sausage Platter was tasty. The portions were good. People around us ordered burgers that were generously portioned with all the fixings. They have lots of specials like burger of the month, Wednesdays are burger night (half price) and the drinks are so reasonably priced! The service was immediate and constant throughout our entire visit. Very friendly and eager to make your experience enjoyable. Seriously, venture out to this place and have some terrific drinks and food. You will want to tell everyone about it! Such a great vibe and atmosphere, as well as a great value!!

I loved the space created for the event and I appreciated the warmth from the heat lamps. Service was great. The bartenders were excellent. The drinks were delicious (I had the Blackberry Bourbon Smash and the Cider Margarita and I think the margarita was my favorite of the two). I gave 3 stars because of the food. I was overwhelmed with the taste of the selection. I enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and the pulled pork sliders the best. The Greek pasta salad and the pretzels weren't too bad. The chicken tenders needed salt in the cooking process because they were bland and the honey mustard didn't do any favors. The crab dip was disappointing. I've had their crab dip before and I liked it but this time, it just tasted off. I feel like I tasted more cream cheese than crab. For this shindig, the drinks were the clear winner. The food was basically there to soak up the liquor because I didn't enjoy it. I wanted to love it but my taste buds were very sad.

The menu is absolutely enormous and the interior lacks character and charm with uncomfortable bench seating and scarce decor. I opted for an omelette which came with pepper jack cheese, bacon, pico de gallo, and a dollop of sour cream. The description was unclear about whether it came with home fries and bread or the option of either home fries or bread. When I asked our server about this, he gave me a mixed response and seemed confused himself. I told him IF it comes with bread, I'll need the gluten free option which ended up being pretty good. My boyfriend got the blueberry pancake which he seemed to love. He also got a side of their "million dollar bacon" and "the works" omelette. There was some more confusion from our server who thought he wanted to sub the bacon in the omelette for the million dollar bacon but he ended up asking for our clarification before any mistakes were made. My omelette came out first and it was dry and overcooked. Definitely not a fluffy omelette and the half a spoonful of sour cream wasn't helping. The home fries were SO salty and that's coming from someone who has a savory palate. I couldn't finish them. My boyfriend's omelete came out and was a lighter, different color and looked a lot fluffier which makes me think mine was kept on the skillet too long. The million dollar bacon was just bacon covered in maple syrup. It was so disappointing and definitely not worth the almost $7 for 4 pieces. We had to chase our server down for our check in the end. Our meal ended up being over $50 for the two of us. Considering the quality of the food and service, I wouldn't say it was worth it. This is the kind of place that pretends its "farm fresh" but really is the same quality as IHOP at a slightly more expensive price.

Date: April 25, 2026…read more I visited Papas (Side Bar) on April 25, 2026, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. First, the food quality has declined compared to my previous visits over the years. I have been a loyal customer for a long time, and what I received was not consistent with how the dish has been prepared before. When I politely asked the server (Katie) to take the plate back because it was not as expected, she became upset and responded in an unprofessional manner. She questioned what was wrong and stated that the dish would come out of her check. I calmly explained that I have been coming here for many years and that the preparation was different from before. Her response was inappropriate--she mentioned that "Mr. Papas died in November," which I found disrespectful and unnecessary. Regardless of any internal changes, this is not something that should be communicated to a customer in that manner. I then asked to speak with a manager and explained the situation. Unfortunately, the server continued to behave rudely while I was addressing the issue. This experience did not reflect professionalism, respect for customers, or the standards I had come to expect from your establishment. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve both service and customer experience moving forward.

I have never had a problem with the crabs, they are always steamed to perfection and quite tasty. I ordered a dozen medium crabs (that was the only size they had at the time) 3 were over cooked and one was extremely light. They took the 3 overcooked back and provided replacements (40 mins later) however, refused to credit the light crab. I spoke with the crab manager Jake who declined my request and he gave me the info for an additional manager/event coordinator(because I was told that they did not have a manger on site in the evening). Needless to say she supported the decision of the crab manager not to provide an adjustment for the light crab. It is not actually the fact that the crab was light but the lack of customer consideration, flexibility, and accountability for one MEDIUM sized crab.....particularly as I continued to patronize the establishment by ordering an additional half dozen large crabs later that same evening after the incident. The service was great, Gabe was a gem.

The orange crush tasted like it was made with squeezed oranges. Paid $100 for a dozen males, which I know can change, but that's what it was today. They've got plenty of seating and even outdoor space. They have happy hour but you have to sit at the bar. Our server was very pleasant and our drinks came out fast. I am definitely going back.
