A wonderful setting to celebrate a 78th birthday lunch. From the initial email and phone contact to our departure was nothing but excellence. Raquel and Lauren responded quickly to questions and got us set for our personalized menu, private room in The Board Room and was pleasant throughout. They were flexible when I needed to confirm the final count (an increase of only 2) on the day before. The food was delicious! I ordered the garden salad and Firecracker Salmon and rice. Our meals came fast so I shifted my salad to my plate. The salad was fresh and ingredients crisp. I loved the rice and the salmon had a nice glaze. It could've spicier. A guest sitting near to me enjoyed the Vegetable Stir Fry and said it tasted great and seasoned well. Most guests had the salmon or crab cake. My niece enjoyed her crab cake. Nick, our server, provided exceptional service. He was always available, getting exercise going up and down the stairs, to provide everything that was needed or requested. He kept beverage glasses filled. He cut the cakes for the guests. He also packed up leftovers requested by any guests and put the remaining cake in their boxes. Kudos Nick! Recently went to BlueStone to celebrate a family member's birthday. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our 6:15pm reservation on a Thursday evening. Once 6:15pm came, our table still wasn't ready. The hostess stand was occupied by 3 young women but the main individual was, unfortunately, the least pleasant. They explained that there was a party for 100 guests happening upstairs at the restaurant. I'm not sure why this information is relevant for other guests. Perhaps don't allow others to make reservations if the staff will be overwhelmed by a large holiday party? We were eventually seated at a tiny table, that shouldn't have been a table. We were going to deal with it for the sake of avoiding another delay but a waiter who came by asked if we were comfortable and swapped us to someone else's section. He was the star of the day. From there, we ordered and enjoyed a nice meal but the initial impression unfortunately soured my experience of the establishment. My relative enjoyed the lamb shank and crab fried rice. I preferred the 5 ounce crab cake that I added to my meal over the actual entree of branzino itself. Neither of us enjoyed the Brussels sprouts (too much going on between the added bacon, cheese, etc.). I've had better meals in nicer places so this will likely be a one and done for me. read more

I dined with a few friends in the bar area on Friday around 4p. The apps were huge and so good. We ordered too much. The calamari is fabulous. We also ordered the capresse flatbread and the crab and spinach dip. SO DAMN GOOD!! The highlight was the amazing dirty martini! Our bartender poured the drink at our table. Bluestone is the perfect place for an evening with your loved one or a group dinner. The atmosphere is very welcoming the lighting is just right! Our waiter was sweet, he stayed on top of topping off our water and referring us to specialty cocktails. I tried the Salted Caramel Martini, Yummy!!!! A huge fan of beef short ribs and it was knocked out of the park, w/gravy and mashed potatoes. Truly comfort food! The crab rice is also 10/10! My husband and I went here for a nice date night/special occasion on the way up to PA. The vibes were nice for a Sunday night dinner, service was good and they honored my reservation no issue. However, the food was SO MID. We both got the three course special - a soup or salad, an entree and a dessert each. We both ordered soup - Maryland crab and cream of crab which were great! They were probably the highlight of the night. We thought we were in for a treat, but then came the entree... I ordered the Ocean and Gulf which was an assortment of seafood with roasted potatoes and asparagus. The seafood was not memorable and kind of bland, overloaded with decorative parsley. The roasted potatoes were so overcooked and hard to chew. Asparagus was nothing to write home about. My husband ordered the seafood diavolo (which I thought usually comes with a red sauce, no?). This pasta was a garlic cream sauce base... which we quickly realized was made using the exact same sauce on the Ocean and Gulf. Lazy. The dessert was also kind of middling. The crème brûlée wasn't fired correctly, there was sugar still unmelted on top. Not crispy at all. My husband said the chocolate mousse was just ok. My entree of scallops and broccolini was delicious! The scallops were a nice portion for the price point. Visited BlueStone for lunch with my sister. Appreciated the large menu with a variety of seafood, salads, and sandwiches. Didn't realize how large this restaurant was from the outside, but the inside is huge with plenty of seating. Attentive & friendly service. Both my sister and I were impressed with our salads. Steak Salad with ranch- this salad dressing was horseradish based, so my sister opted for ranch. Steak was cooked with nice char marks. The crispy onions added a nice crunch. Chicken & Avocado Salad- loved how fresh and light this salad was. The lemon-Dijon vinaigrette paired nicely with everything. Juicy grilled chicken on top. Nice to spend an afternoon here for a luncheon for my grandmother. The food was great, well seasoned, tasty and the right temperature. The staff was friendly and served close to 100 of us. Sufficient parking in a well lit area. Very nice decor to the restaurant. The host staff was welcoming and knew abt the party I was there to join. Sat at the tables in front of the bar. My party had already paid their bills, so I just ordered the crabcakes app and an old fashioned. The crabcakes were good along with the old fashioned but it seemed that the bartender didn't stir the drink, so the bitters stayed at the bottom of the glass. Tasted better once I stirred it up. I booked a reservation here for my partner's birthday. We were running late so I called to let them know and they appreciated the heads up. The host staff were very nice and friendly and so were the 4 waiters we had. Per the suggestion of one of the wait staff, I went with the Mahi over the pasta and my partner went with the stuffed flounder. The Mahi was a little saltier than I liked but the rice was bland so it balanced out. My partner said the stuffed flounder was great. I requested the Birtnday sundae for our celebration and it was a little strange that they only sing on Sundays but that was okay. The other patrons in our area actually sang Happy Birthday which was a nice gesture. The website says they require business casual attire but there were definitely people there in hoodies. read more

I first came here about 3 years ago and I recalled the food being delicious and the service top notch! I went back tonight with a much larger party and the food was better than I remembered. We participated in the restaurant week specials. The options were tiered based on the food but included a starter of soup or salad, entree and dessert. The portions are large for what you pay! I thought I'd get a small cup of soup but it was a large helping in a bowl. I also got the short rib and it was massive pieces of short rib on top of mashed potatoes. My boyfriend got the lobster roll and the flavor was fresh, citrusy and light. The desserts were delicious as well! Both crème brûlée & mousse were light and decadent. The service was good! The restaurant did get packed fast so the wait time in between took a while but since we had appetizers and drinks it kept us busy. Overall, a great restaurant, definitely recommend read more

Great restaurant, amazing food and service!! I had their Crisfield stew and it was amazing! Our waitress said it was one of the top dishes and it was absolutely huge and I took some home for another meal. The bread that came with it was also very good and allowed me to dip and scoop up that delicious broth it was in. We didn't have any appetizers. Just special cocktails and I had a banana split martini. It was very creamy, it was very sweet and it was very good. For dessert, we shared a banana split creme brulee which was really really good. Considering our drinks and the stew and the dessert. Everything was delicious and highly recommended. The noise level in this particular restaurant was very loud and it was too loud in the room we were originally sitting in. So we asked to move to a different room and it was a little better but still pretty loud. It was hard to tell because the rooms we were in didn't have high ceilings but there was still a lot of noise and it was very hard to hear the other person I was with. All in all it was a great restaurant, a great meal and I highly recommend a visit here. I will definitely be back to have that Crisfield stew again as it was one of a kind. read more

Went to Blue Stone with family for just a get together. From the start our waiter was very slow on getting our first round of drinks. Me and my wife ordered cokes as he sat them on the table it was very noticeable there was something wrong with them you could see through. So as we waited for him to return we asked for another. We didn't get our drink until food came. No bread or nothing untill having to ask for it. The restaurant was not busy at all but he kept leaving every time we needed something. Three ordered burgers at well done and every one of them came out med rare. I ordered cream of crab and let's say very little crab meat . Over all it was just ok. Because it was more than 6 tip was added to each bill at 20% . I don't think service or food was worth 20%. read more

We were shown to the dining area to a table, but they were able to accommodate our request for a booth which we appreciated, considering how busy they were. Our server was Juan V and he was fantastic! We started with cocktails and calamari (which sounds like a Country song). The calamari was plentiful - we had a hard time finishing it between the three of us. Very good! I ordered the Beef Short Rib with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was YUGE and delicious. The Crisfield Stew Dinner was loaded with seafood and was very tasty. Both entrees made leftovers for the next evening's dinner. We shared the Salted Caramel dessert which was like a creme brulee. Recently visited Maryland for a lacrosse tourney in the area. Son was tired so my Hubby and I enjoyed a bit of a Date Night. We didn't have a reservation but the staff got us right in at a high top table in the bar area. We tried variation of the Crab Soup. I had the cream-based version and he had the Maryland (tomato base) version. Both were a really yummy start! The drinks were on pint and our entrees were fantastic. I had the scallops and Hubby had the Two Way Tuna. As if that wasn't enough, we finished our evening meal at BlueStone with the Pistachio Creme Brûlée and the Chocolate Mousse. Our waiter (who was also one of the Bartenders) was perfectly attentive. Not too much, not too little. This place is massive. Like warehouse or hanger sized building. Walking in, the staff is definitely well trained and professional. And, I was going in skeptical. I wanted to get take out and had called in and told that they could do that and orders are ready in 20 minutes. Whoa - much faster than I anticipated, so I said I would call back in 10 minutes. I checked in to see if my group could get moving earlier - and then called back. At that point, all orders had to go to the bar where "maybe" they could do it. The bartender was super accommodating, and even laughed at my lame joke about "is it okay to order a kids meal at the bar?" He told me "about 20 minutes", and I paid then went off to run a quick errand, getting back exactly 20 minutes later. Here is where they lost a star. As I walked up to the bar, a staff member was handing two to-go bags to a woman I hadn't talked to when ordering. She was not exactly friendly to the woman dropping off the food. I said "hi" she said nothing, I asked "hey, is that my order?" she said "I don't know yet" without looking up and proceeded to take a box out of the bag. She opened each box to check inside (with no gloves on), then peered at a piece of paper, and went through and it felt like did the entire thing again - which is annoying because a) hygiene and b) thermodynamics - no explanation as to why it's taking so long, if it's my order (I can pretty clearly see it is) or friendliness at all. Eventually she takes out one item from the order and puts it to the side. "What was that?" I ask. "I don't know what this is" she says. "Well, should it be with my order?" I ask. "No, it's bread". "I ordered soup. was it supposed to be with the soup?" "no. The soup comes with crackers" This whole interaction really was off compared to the vibe of the rest of the place. I understand I'm not sitting down (and with two small kids - I would imagine they would appreciate that), but up until then I was trying to figure out how I could get back here to have a drink at that bar - because the bartenders really did seem to be working magic back there. We got the food home, and it really was quite great. I started with the calamari. The thai sauce wasn't spicy at all, but otherwise really tastey. The calamari was really tender, and I could tell would have been amazing at the table, but even sitting in the to go, they still were tasty. The shrimp tacos, with fried shrimp, were okay. The blackened shrimp was incredible, but had a slight afterburn of spice as a warning. I loved those. The (separately and perfectly packed) toppings were really great too, especially the cilantro sauce. The fries that came with it were pretty good. The kids got fried shrimp (same as what was in the tacos) and fish bites (fried fish) which I really enjoyed. One was supposed to come with mixed greens (confirmed on the receipt, so it was put in right) but both came with fries (which makes my interaction with the woman even more annoying). I think BlueStone is the ideal place for a large group, or even a drink at the bar. I'll grant them that they aren't a to-go style place, and wouldn't fault them if they just shut down that line of business (which would be sad, but I get it). And, I'll probably be back if I'm in the area. read more

Nice bar area too. The cup of soup is a small bowl. The cream of crab had more crab than expected and was worth coming back for. The fish tacos are more of a tapas dish than a taco. Soft shell and lightly seasoned fish. I had the mahi mahi fish taco with corn and an orange sauce. Excellent. They really are a five star place based on food and service, but. I took a star for dirty silverware that was apologized for and replaced quickly (old and dried food stuck to a fork) and I do like their martinis, and wish they would shake'em and not put full ice cubes in'em. Hello! We arrived timely for our reservation, and the waited to be seated was fairly short. Keeping in mind, it was Easter Sunday. The hostesses were professional and efficient. The food was good. You are served bisquits/ jam and butter to eat while waiting for your apps and entree; the bisquits were good. Speaking of apps, I did have to send back my Brussel sprouts. The 1st order wasn't cooked long enough. You'll see two orders of sprouts in my photos. Everyone enjoyed their meals, which came out timely. I had braised short rib pasta. Entree portions are not oversized. You may want to an app or eat the bisquits. Blood orange mimosa was good also. Our servers were great, I recall Jason's name. However, not our other server. We went (unintentionally) during Restaurant week. Aside from the wait staff being overwhelmed,the food was excellent. Our group started a beet salad,- excellently prepared, a Bluestone- baby greens with pecans, warm honey bacon and a honey mustard vinaigrette, and an arugula and goat cheese salad with a balsamic glaze. For our mains we had a mahi mahi served with a honey garlic glaze and shrimp- cooked to my version of fish perfection- cooked just about through but leaving the inside tender and moist. The rockfish stuffed with a crab cake (does it get more Maryland than that?) and lemon buster blanc sauce was yummy. Diver scallops on a risotto were also perfectly finished- seared outside and tender in the middle. Chicken Francaose came out crispy and the lemon wine flavors were well balanced. For dessert we all agreed it was one of the best crème brûlée we've ever had. Some places keep them in the fridge and they get almost like Jell-O consistency. This was light airy and really you could taste the vanilla. The Keylime pie was excellent and the chocolate mousse was good as well. This place takes new American food and always presents it in an original yet approachable fashion including elevated side dishes. They also have an excellent large enclosed patio, which is perfect for private events. The convenience of the location and parking certainly help. The decor could probably be updated slightly, but that's a big investment... I'd expect to see that the next couple of years regardless read more

Well yesterday we went back to Bluestone and made a reservation for 2 in the Atrium with Dennis as our server. Dennis is simply the best server. Their old menu is back and all the food from the fried green tomatoes and sesame tempura shrimp was excellent. Tara is a manager and always checks on us and is the best. BlueStone is a lovely place. Really nice decor, staff always very helpful and friendly. The food is, I think, really good. Not sure what keeps it one notch down from great, but it never quite makes it over the top for me. (Although I did have the best asparagus ever there, and I don't even particularly LIKE asparagus.) But I go there a lot and I'm happy with the experience. I'm a fan of their version of calamari, and the chicken / avocado salad. The creamy crab and Maryland crab soups are both good. The Crisfield is a delightful seafood soup-sort-of-thing. Very nice. Great place to go for both lunch and dinner. read more

Wow! Great place to go for date night dinner if you love seafood. Everything was so good I completely forgot to take pictures. New to their menu is a starter with 5 mini crab cakes served with a mustardy aioli. Really jumbo lumps of crab! My partner got the Pasta Diavolo, a pasta with a creamy red sauce, shrimp and scallops. Scallops are one of his all-time favorites and these were the best he's had outside of Scotland. I got the Goat cheese and arugula salad with chicken and cream of crab soup. The chicken was so juicy and tender, and beautifully seasoned! The salad was delicious, with toasted pine nuts and strawberries. I love cream of crab soup; this was a real winner. Just a hint of sherry and large lumps of crab. Our server was knowledgeable and fast. Everything, even the rolls, were delicious! Pricier than a chain, but melt-in-your-mouth seafood was well worth it! read more
