I've been coming here for years! One of my favorite snow ball stands in Baltimore. It's a whole vibe just walking in the sand like you're at the beach. Parking is very easy and they are so fast with lines if there are any. They have a huge menu, so take your time cranking out all of your options. Also, you can modify your snowball or ice cream as much as you'd like. The ladies that work there are so sweet every time I go. I really can tell they love their job and each other. This stand had been something my family had gone to since before it had a permanent location. I remember visiting the library and enjoying a snowcone from Snoasis as a special treat as a small child. The flavor and quality is still just as good (or maybe better!) from what I remember nearly 40 years ago. The most extreme snow cones I've ever seen. Snoasis is the appropriately named dessert hut. Located off of a major road in the middle of suburban nowhere, Snoasis's sandy island decor feels like an oasis in a concrete jungle. Snoasis serves summertime junk food such as hotdogs, ice cream, and of course, snow cones. Snow cones at Snoasis comes in every flavor you'd expect, and many you wouldn't, all of which rotate frequently. The smallest size snow cone is still quite the large amount, a small cup packed and overflowing with the stuff. And if you want to truly treat yourself, Snoasis has snow cone desserts such as sundaes and parfaits. In addition to the snow cones, you can order ice cream both by itself or as part of a variety of different types of desserts. The biggest strike against of Snoasis is that while the experience of eating cold treats on a mock beach is novel, the actual desserts aren't anything special. The snow cones are, at the end of the day, just snow cones. They're normal, shredded ice topped with sugary, artificially flavored syrup. The ice cream and hot dogs are standard store bought foodstuffs. Snoasis is great if you want to take your kids somewhere fun for dessert or if you're missing the feeling of sand under your feet, but I would not recommend Snoasis for those who take their desserts seriously. Snoasis is a great dessert place for the family at a fun location, but if you want something particularly tasty, you'll want to look for another location. read more

This place is AMAZING. This is my favorite snowball place. I always love to get a medium in a large lemon snowball with vanilla ice cream on top. The service is also great, the workers are super nice. I also like how there's tables in the sand, it kind of feels like you're eating a snowball on the beach but you can't see the ocean. They have to have over 100 different flavors. I'm pretty picky about my snowballs. The shaved ice melt-in-your-mouth kind isn't really my thing. I like a little more bite to my ice, so the bigger pieces of ice here are perfection to me. Egg Custard is, of course, a classic, but the Chocolate Chip Cookie and Almond Joy are personal favorites of mine as well. They also serve freshly squeezed lemonade and soft-serve ice cream. There is often a long line, but don't let that scare you off. It moves quickly and you'll get your sugar fix in no time. Probably the best snowball shack ever.....no joke. The ice is smooth and rarely chunks up like other snowballs. The flavors are sweeter than other shacks, but that's what makes them fun. The marshmallow is flowing. I'm a wuss and always ask for a small to be placed in a medium cup to avoid overflow. Egg custard with marshmallow....it doesn't get more Bmore than that if you ask me. I LOVE shaved ice. I love it so much, I even have an industrial ice shaving machine at home. I might be anemic or something. Anyway, even though I can make it at home for free, I go to SnoAsis pretty much every day. The ice isn't fluffy and fine like snow, but it isn't too chunky either. It's in between, and it's perfect. Kinda like next day snow as opposed to freshly laid. They have a ton of different flavors, but I get the same every time. Lime. Light on the syrup. My other half mixes his up a little, but always gets marshmallow on top. He says it's great. I'm skeptical. It's usually all over his face by the time he's finished. Sometimes I don't mention it and I let him walk around like that. Don't tell him. I'm not actually sure what time it closes at night, because I've been there at 11pm and been served, and then last night at 8:55 I found them closed. I was sad. My friends and I stopped at SnoAsis because we heard that MD was known for their snow cones...coming from Massachusetts - we can't find a snow cone stand so this place was a first for us. The amount of flavors were fantastic! My friends and I kept it simple with the LA Raspberry, the Egg Custard and Lemon. This was the perfect way to cool off on a hot afternoon, and a nice break to our road trip back home. The ice was a perfect consistancy and I took the recommendations to put marshmallow on it as well, the only down side about the marshmallow was that by the time i got to eat it, it was a big frozen glob! I've passed by here every day since I moved into my apartment and it's actually in walking distance but I've been waiting ALL winter for it to reopen! I was so disappointed. I know it's just a snowball but I was expecting more. I never heard of getting marshmallow on top so you know I had to try it even though I thought it was a weird combo. Ew, who EVER thought of this? It was just weird. The marshmallow was too thick to eat and when I took my spoon out all of the marshmallow was stuck on it so I couldn't even mix it with the ice. It was just a mess. As snowball stands go this is one of two local area stands. The other one, located behind Captain Trey's Seafood on York Road is far superior. In my opinion it is cleaner, newer and freshly painted. You may ask why is it better? First, the value you get from Snow-Asis is not as good. Sizes are smaller and more expensive. They have a large which is more expensive than the jumbo (32oz) at Captain Trey's stand. Snow-Asis is also cheap on the marshmallow toppings. Not enough to make it really tasty. The ice is also cut differently. It does not absorb the flavor as well as the other stand. And they are also cheap on the flavors in my opinion. I like the other stand because the people are more friendly, you get a better value for your money and has a nice seating area. We feel safer there and it is not as over crowded. I mean if SA has a line you can stand there for 15 minutes of more while the teens running it roll their eyes are you and expect to be tipped. read more

After recently moving to this area, I was excited when I found out that a snowball stand was nearby. I have been here a few times now. The last visit I had here was very unfortunate. The two girls making our snowball , Cameron and Melina, did a horrible job. They quickly and sloppily filled the cup with ice and filled it with syrup. Afterwards, they put a teaspoon of ice cream on top while charging us 1$ for it. When we informed them that we were unsatisfied, they both had unequipped customer service techniques. They were curt and unhelpful. Coming from previous experience with snowball stands and customer service, I was appalled. I will not be returning. Remaking the snowball with more attention to what they were doing would have been nice, especially after paying almost 4$ for a small snowball. read more
