This place is pricing, but it is worth the money. They have a great sushi menu, and I ordered the combo plate. It was exceptional. I sat at the bar, and the bartender Martin was awesome. I ordered the combo plate and tried to say I prefer the less expensive salmon to tuna. When my plate arrived, and it may have been a coincidence, but the sashimi was all salmon. I wasn't able to reserve seafood fresh places in advance too far and being one person, I can sometimes get lucky. Not today though but I do love sushi too and went for this place. Food options were nice. I like that they tried to mix it up with sweet potato strings. Some may think this to be trying too hard and I thought it to be nice. The sushi was fine but nothing wowed me. It is Cape Cod prices in a nice area but I feel like I could have similar enough raw fish sushi in other areas. I considered getting a crab roll but none of the combinations got my attention enough except for the classicly named volcano. However, it also had "crab surigami" which my waiter told me was imitation crab before I ordered and since I had asked. I don't hate the taste of imitation crab but it isn't particularly healthy for me- so I might as well have the real thing. The restaurant has a modern look. The space is typically too tight and open where the diners can see the sushi chefs. Not a lot of space between myself and fellow patrons at the sushi bar potentially. Made a reservation here because I'd heard such good things. The service was not great, but we were seated in the bar area so that's not unexpected. Unfortunately the food was not good--incredibly overpriced for what we received. The ribs were spoken about online many times with glowing reviews and they were overcooked and dry, not to mention 5 small ribs were $22. Brussels sprouts were truly awful. You need to check out bluefins if you're in the area. It's among many many many different restaurants. Bluefins is the one that has a modern vibe, a great weight staff, and one where all of the entrées all of the sushi and all of the appetizers just perfect. Over a four-day visit to Falmouth for a quick vacation, we tried the asparagus fingers, the beet salad, the asparagus rolls, the three A rolls, the pad Thai, and the Hawaiian rolls. Every single piece was exceptional. I even wrote to the restaurant the next day asking them for a list of the ingredients in the pad Thai. Something about it was just a bit different and I couldn't put my finger on it, so won't be able to re-create it at home if they don't answer me. Check it out you don't wanna miss this one. This is our second go around to Bluefins and it was just as good as the first time. Food, service, and ambiance all a 5. The curry coconut shrimp is absolutely delicious. I could not wait to have this dish again. Currently, this dish has made it to my top five dishes of all time. It is tasty and the texture of the shrimp was perfect. All the dishes are plated so creatively. The teriyaki chicken dish and tornado sushi roll was yummy as well. The scallop dish was creative and delicious, however, the relish was a little too spicy and did not complement the scallops well. A good try on that special though. Came here on a Friday night in early April and the restaurant was very busy when we arrived at 8pm. Service was slow at first but that did not matter because the server was friendly and the food was excellent. I had their version of gnocchi and it was mind blowingly delicious - easily one of the best things I've eaten in recent years. I cannot wait to return and eat that dish again. I followed with one of their cooked sushi rolls which was good but did not surpass the gnocchi. My dining partner had chicken teriyaki which came with a beautiful and generous portion of a vegetable medley! We love vegetables! Went here on Saturday night date night with friends of ours and had an exceptional meal. Reservations are accepted which is a plus. The service was a tad slow but nothing crazy. My wife ordered the short rib pad Thai which gets 5 stars an I had the tuna poke bowl which was on the starters menu. I asked if they could make it an entree, but was told that it was meal size. It was an appetizer size. Thankfully, my wife's meal was rather large and I was able to get her "leftovers". All that being said, we had a great meal and quality time with friends. And my wife wanted to leave me for the mussels (in a curry sauce that she wish she could have finished with a straw). I have never seen her more satiated and satisfied!
