Took forever to bring out some of the dishes and when brought out they were cold. Servers apologized for the being slow but urgency wasn't shown. Wasn't a busy day at all but still very slow. They played celebrate good times twice before the food made it to the table. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews! We rolled in with 4 adults and two kids under 3 near closing time on a Saturday and had a delightful, fresh, well-priced meal served by a great, accommodating, friendly team. Would definitely go back, especially with kids so as not to disturb the fine dining establishments nearby. Ambiance is casual. read more

This place has the win for the view. And the service was good. We had reservations for 6pm and were seated on "the barge". By far the best seating in the place. The food was expensive and the drinks disappointing. The Bloody Mary was small and not spicy .. although it should have been given it was marketed as such. The olive was just an olive sitting on a toothpick. The sangria "special house blend" tasted like fruit juice and the garnishment left me puzzled. The fish and chips were $26 (I substituted veggies for the fries, no up charge).. I had expected to not be able to finish it. It was small. Well prepared but small. The lobster Mac n cheese was $29... and just ok. The little necks were $2.50 each and not even shucked off the shell- he had to pull it off with a knife. Service was excellent so no complaints there. The price on the lobster roll on yelp was 21.95 and was incorrect. I told the waitress the situation. They offered a quarter pound lobster roll which we had and was very fresh tasting but at a higher price. Chowder was very good Service was very good read more

Went here as we knew someone working. They really do have a nice view! The food was good overall. The lobster roll had a lot of lobster and not too much mayo! They had a large kids menu, which included pasta. The chowder was tasty and thick. The service was excellent and good came quickly. read more

We had been to Shuckers years ago and it was great to return. We even had 2 meals here, a lunch one day and a dinner on our last night in Woods Hole. For our lunch we had some steamers , sharing a big bowl and some garlic toast. For our dinner night, my husband had the mussels and I had the lobster roll with a half pound of meat, all ready out of the shell as I find picking the meat myself difficult these days. My husband had a local beer from Martha's Vineyard and I had the Garden Spritz with a unique herbal touch. The service was great and the seating right on the water. One area is actually a floating barge in Eel Pond, the heart of Woods Hole. There is a cool raw bar too. Every single item was as fresh as you can get. Know that they do not serve dessert but if you have room, there is a nearby restaurant with fantastic options. read more

Shuckers is a wonderful place for great seafood in a perfect location down a cobblestone alley to the waterfront. You are right on the harbor with the boats. Tuesday twin lobster specials are a great deal. I can't imagine why some people would complain about the floating dock seating. How fantastic to be right on the water! Ok I took my wife for our wedding anniversary to shuckers and the appetizers were really good so I order a watermelon margarita and I don't know why tasted like cucumber and water anyways after that I order one of the "PINEAPPLE MARGARITA " was supposed to be the best in town I don't know but tasted just like cucumber margarita but worse. So whoever was at the bar please get somebody else ASAP and my wife got a not alcoholic drink and she told me that didn't tasted good so that was my first and last time at shuckers. Spring into summer and autumn is the time to visit this area. So you can enjoy the outside dock seating, with boats and ducks on the water. The staff is like family, all happy smiling people even in the heat. Say yes to the lobster roll and try the variety of oysters, to find your favorite. A MUST is a hot lobster roll with butter on the locally baked light and fluffy rolls. Perfectly portioned and definitely the star of the show. Lemonade was my choice of drink and recommended, but they do have a full bar and some good beers. Maybe do a bike ride through New England to work up the appetite for all that is good. Post-covid era visit - outdoor seating, with staff wearing face masks. Touchless menu was a nice touch -- you can pull it up online using your phone camera. Tables were decently spaced out. The calamari was nice, but we missed the fact that it had fried pickles/peppers in there, so that was an unexpected surprise. The clam chowder was nice, although not the best I've ever had. The hot lobster roll is basically lobster with butter on a toasted bun, and it was delicious. The French fries that came with it, were also well done with a slight crisp to them. I would visit this restaurant again, and try the oysters on our next trip to the Cape. read more

We've gone to Shuckers for years (previous owner). The view is great and the service was spot on, our waitress was extraordinary. Drinks are great. Last night our dinner was fairly dissapointing though :( Appetizers: -Quahog was clearly not made from clams, strange. Dinner: -Baked scrod was obviously frozen and was flavorless with an odd liquid. Potatoes were freezing. Three sad asparagus stalks. -Lobster Mac n Cheese had tasty lobster but absolutely no cheese, confusing. -Flatbread was just okay, overloaded with cheese. What a nugget !!! Looking to eat dinner by the water, we went to Shuckers. They were on the Woods Hole Harbor, took reservations, and we were able to get a 5p table ( Wed night ). Our waitstaff ( Sara) was lovely! And she comped our stuffed quahog as it was so "baked" that we couldn't get it out of the shell). Our dinners were baked lobster with mussels/steamers/corn, and the baked haddock stuffed with lobster, substituted a sm Caesar salad, and everything was scrumptious!!!!! Music playing was fabulous, we sat on the deck, looking out over the boats- gorgeous!!! All right in downtown Woods Hole Will definitely return here! Even the Cabernet was delicious ! Aw, shucks. Shuckers, famously highlighted on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" has closed for the season. In season (they open around Memorial Day), they have a pleasant view of the marina&Eel Pond. In the off season, everything is packed away. It's the perfect place to be on a humid summer day, with a cool strawberry cocktail. Their fish tacos with fruit salsa are OK. They're appetizer size (and on the app menu), so don't treat them like a meal. Their cocktails are on the sweet side. The service varies, from inattentive (like the socializing hosts),to a waitress who genuinely cared about the whole experience, to the somewhat prickly&grouchy bartender. What the shuck? The prices are steep for the area. It's strictly seasonal. It's OK. read more

And when walking into this place you feel like this has an opportunity based on the view of the boats. That's where it falls apart. The staff is poorly trained on the menu/bar and the kitchen executed horrifically I'm pretty much everything. I found it very weird when our waitress had to shuck our table oysters versus having a shocking station that somebody was responsible for, which delayed anybody needing anything. Again, once the food started coming out, it was not good. For example, the tuna bowl was pretty much frozen tuna and frozen rice with a sprinkle of seaweed salad. Oysters were absurdly fresh, shrimp cocktail by the shrimp was fresh and what one would expect, and fine dishes also available. I'm giving 3 stars because I went during Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed my time and my food, was able to bring our dog to dine outside. Today however was a different story. I've never waited so long to get into a restaurant that clearly had open tables. The hostesses were there dealing with take out orders, even took people that came in after us that pushed their way up to the desk. We got sat in our preferred location but not one greeted us or took our order for an extended period of time. A waitress did eventually come over and take our drinks and oyster order. My boyfriend liked his Mojito, the frozè was super sweet and hard to drink. We had to ask for water, which came in a carafe which was very warm. We are used to eating good oysters and thought a place named Shuckers would be good quality. All of the oysters were still attached to the shell, there were pieces of shell in them, the worse shucking I've ever had! Really disappointing. We had to ask for our check as well, the waitress never checked on us. We were planning on ordering more food but decided to go else where. read more

I'm going to repeal my previous review of shuckers as "the worst restaurant on the planet". This restaurant changed owners a couple of seasons ago and the improvement in the service and the overall food quality is really worthy of going from 1 star to 4. good drinks, good staff, great setting. I was always eager to tell visitors how awful this restaurant was and NO local would EVER eat at shuckers. Under new ownership this restaurant is definitely a WH option and locals should give it another try. read more
