We weren't sure what to expect when we walked in and were the only people there. We thought maybe they weren't actually opened yet. But we had the full attention of the server as the only lunch diners. Everything was delicious. I had the chicken hibachi lunch, and my friend had the sushi lunch special. Neither of us like miso soup so I cannot give a good review there, minus that it tastes like seaweed lol. But everything else we thought was delicious. This review is for service ONLY. I cannot say anything about food, we left before having an opportunity to order. This place is not properly staffed! We waited to be seated, they had to bus the hibachi table/station. Not a problem, the restaurant was busy. We two were seated at an empty table for 7 and handed menus. The other five seats were quickly filled, but after a 10 minutes wait, without a wait/staff person checking in to minimally take a drink order, we left. It is a small restaurant with 4 hibachi tables/stations. Three tables were full. Only one "chef" was cooking. Another was bussing the tables AND working the bar. The hostest was working with a baby in her arms, and a very young toddler behind the counter. A very large party was finishing their meals. There was a lack of service, a feeling of eing "overwhelmed". Not an ideal experience for dinner. read more

If you didn't know it was there, you'd drive right by, but this unassuming little restaurant is a gem. Kobi House rightfully deserves it's 4 star rating. Came in with a party of 5 + 1 child for an early dinner, we were seated right away. The hostess/waitress was outstanding, so attentive and friendly. Drinks came right away. The cocktails are strong and well worth the price (coming from Boston, the cocktail prices are a steal)! I ordered the scorpion bowl for one and it was strong but very drinkable and huge. The katsu chicken was delicious, super crisp and hot. The hibachi was fun, our chef was an all around good vibe. The food itself was really good! The rice was extremely well seasoned, flavorful and rich. The steak was well cooked, tender. The portions were very good. This isn't the fanciest place, but it was an extremely pleasant and memorable meal. Everyone was left full and happy. I couldn't recommend this place more. read more

2022 update, the hibachi is still awesome! Got filet and shrimp, yum yum. Little pricey but a decent portion ( I think it was around $33). Also tried the volcano roll. It was great but the sriracha was overpowering, took it off and it was perfect. Drinks were very strong. Got a mai Tai and it was definitely worth it. We usually come here once a year and it really has not changed but I'd say the sushi is better now! read more

Food was terrific but service was slow. Only one chef working 5 hibachi grills so it took a long time. People sitting with us said they eat here regularly and that it usually isn't as busy as it was Saturday night. I didn't realize Kobi House was primarily a Hibachi restaurant when I ordered sushi takeout. But the sushi is absolutely terrible. We literally threw away most of the sushi because it was coated with way too much spicy mayo, the tuna was bad looking, rolls falling apart and smelling/tasting like things it shouldn't. Walked in excited to try their sushi. I had my service dog with me and was completely denied. I explained my rights under the ADA and he stilled denied my right. I've never had this happen before and I'm utterly upset. As I tried to explain ada protection and he kept cutting me off. This was my first visit but went with someone who's been a number of times and kept raving about how good it is. They weren't lying. I had the filet and chicken hibachi which comes with miso soup, small salad, fried rice, and a ton of veggies. The entire meal was fantastic. Plus it's an entire production which was very well done. Been coming here for ages. Don't let the sketchy location fool you, this is a great local haunt. Hibachi is excellent with great filets, chicken, and seafood. A combo will also get you hot soup, salad with ginger dressing, and a couple of fried shrimp with your meal. Fried rice and veggies are tasty! Sake flows from a squirt bottle directly to your mouth so be ready! As an aside, Carlos and the rest of the chefs are as engaging and entertaining as you are. If you're one prone to whooping and hollering and clapping, you'll have a blast. If you're looking for a quiet romantic affair this ain't it. Kobi House is a spot for partiers, make no mistake about it. We've seen many a boring group have a boring time and they probably won't return. Just as well. Treat it like a rock concert and cheer along! Not inexpensive. A couple ordering combo hibachi (two meat items) and four Main Tais will spend $100 plus tip. I always tip the chef too. So the food was great for hibachi, generous portions and the meat was perfectly cooked. The overall experience was also great. We got sushi, and it was really good for around here. My rating isn't based on the food, but based on our experience. We had a reservation for 6:30. It was close to eight before they even started the hibachi. They have five grills and only had ONE chef there working on a Friday night. The chef finished off one table, moved on to the next table, and then we were asked to get up and move over to the previous table because the grill was already heated. People got up and left the restaurant because of how slow it was. If they had told us they did not have the staff, we would have left. The restaurant was also bitter cold and service for drinks, sushi, and appetizers was slow considering that they were making people wait for so long to have dinner. read more

What a pleasant surprise! From the outside, this looks like a strip mall Chinese takeout place. On the inside is a whole nother story. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess who seemed to work a plethora of jobs - hostess, water server, overall experience manager. We had a reservation for 14 and a few didn't make it so they quickly rearranged the seats to accommodate our new number. Serving a dozen people hibachi simultaneously is a bit of a demanding job, but they handled it with excellence. Our chef was funny and engaging. The quality of the food was fantastic, the hibachi chef actually sent a lobster tail back to the kitchen because he said it was too small! The one they brought out instead was huge and they cooked it perfectly. We tried pretty much the entire menu - chicken, steak, filet, shrimp, scallops and lobster tail. The scallops were plump juicy sea scallops, also cooked perfectly. Portions were large, as usual with hibachi. We also tried some sushi and there was positive feedback about that from the others (by "we I mean "not me" because sushi is gross). If I were to have one complaint, it would be that there's an upcharge for fried rice. Everyone going to hibachi wants that insanely tasty fried rice! Drinks were generous pours - sometimes so strong that they caused my infamous "beer cough." Discreetly adding some ice helped, what can I say I'm a lightweight! Reasonably priced from $7-9. Overall, we learned that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover! It was a terrific experience and we will definitely be back. read more

Amazing food great rates. The chefs and this Japanese place are among the best I've ever seen throughout the country. They have by far the best cuts of steak I've ever eaten in a Japanese Steakhouse. And the place was kind of dead surprisingly enough. I would call it a hidden Jewel in the middle of a bunch of nonsense. There are a ton of restaurants in this city but this far exceeds the expectations of what I had set due to the competition. They should be busier by far. Went out to eat with some family members, I'm a vegetarian and one of the people in my party had a shellfish allergy. Although the people across from us sharing the table ordered shrimp, and everyone else ordered meat, the man who made our food started with my veggies first, then the meat, then the shellfish, JUST to make sure we were all able to eat safely. We had a really nice evening and a decent meal at Kobi House. The place is clean and neat, but very dated. We almost didn't stay when we drove into the parking lot. Our hibachi meal was good, and the tabletop grill presentation was a fun way to celebrate our son's birthday. On a busy evening in Hyannis, there were few people there, so we were able to get a table promptly.
