My wife and I had reservations here and it was our first dinner and our first night in Banff! I was looking forward to coming to this restaurant because of the pictures and the ambience and I'm glad we sat next to the little fireplace. Definitely a great spot for a date night dinner. Food here was amazing.. For our appetizers, we ordered the mushrooms with chicken skin and that was absolutely amazing side dish. We paired this with the Alberta prime rib. The waitress also recommended the hashbrowns, but I thought they were OK.. The prime rib was really juicy and it was a big cut. Delicious, nonetheless. Prior to ordering our food we had a few drink drinks. And just a little feedback the waitress was a little pushy and kept asking us if we were ready to order our food when we mentioned we would let her know a few times. She seemed like a hard worker maybe she was just doing her job and that's her normal gig. Other than that, we had a great time here! The vibe checks out. Oh I almost forgot to mention the scallops here are amazing! I highly recommend this appetizer!

Just finished eating here and had the best experience. The staff were super friendly and service was fast. The dining area is super cute and relaxing. And most importantly the food was great. We came for brunch and got eggs Benedict and soufflé pancakes. The eggs Benedict was some of the best we've had and the soufflé pancakes were so fluffy and delicious. Also definitely get a side of hash browns with whatever you get because they were perfect. We will probably be back while we are here.

The food here was delicious and they had some unique dishes on their menu. Below is what we ordered: french onion soup -- this was so delicious and a great way to start our meal. The crispy cheese on the edge was the best part! 45-day aged porterhouse -- this was prepared perfectly and was so good! Definitely one of the best steaks I've had at a restaurant. broccolini -- perfected roasted and was a solid side. rosemary fries -- these were SO good and fried to perfection. I highly recommend getting this! roasted savory cabbage & chimichurri -- the flavors were so unique and I recommend this if you like cabbage. The sauce was absolutely delicious! key lime pie -- this was definitely the star of the show! This was the BEST key lime pie I've ever had and I'd even consider ordering this for takeout the next time I'm in Banff! It got pretty busy here during dinner time and it took a long time for our food to arrive; we easily waited upwards of 30-40 minutes for our food. Our server was great about updating us on the status of our food and we appreciated the dessert that he comp'ed since the food was taking longer than usual. Overall, I recommend Bluebird if you're looking to have a fancy dinner while in Banff.

My friend and I were eager to try Canadian beef and decided to eat at Bluebird for dinner. The restaurant is really cozy. I felt like I was in a high end log cabin lol. Service was great - Our server Daws, an Australian guy, was super friendly and checked in on us often. I got the classic prime rib cut with sides of asparagus, cheesy mashed potatoes, and mushrooms. The beef was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked. It paired well with the au jus and horseradish crème. Sides were all tasty. We thought the crispy chicken skin on the mushrooms gave it a nice crunchy texture. Lastly, we got a key lime pie to go and it blew my mind. I never get anything lemony or limey because the taste is usually overpowering... but the key lime curd is super lowkey, rich, and creamy.

My fiancé surprised me with a Banff trip and booked this restaurant for dinner. It's a bit congested upon arrival, but love the atmosphere. I like how they hang your jacket so you can sit comfortably. Our server is Dylan and he was so attentive and helpful for being first timers. All the food and drinks were delicious. I hate that we were so full for desert, but I want to visit and order desserts next time. Highly recommend.

Favorite meal in Banff!! Incredible happy hour, the fondue is a must. Lots of add-on's for dipping in the delicious cheese, our favorites were the hash browns. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and pre-sliced, the seasoning was spot on. Wide variety of drinks, and great deals during happy hour. Vibes were A++ and staff is super friendly and attentive. Thanks for a great meal!!

The medium rare tenderloin was done really well -- tender and flavorful. Service was great too. Solid choice if you're in the area and want a good steak night.

Nice ambiance, cozy and has a patio area for the summer season. The staff is friendly, they clarify things to ensure your order is right . The Benny eggs where very good, but there wasn't enough hollandaise so we had to order an extra side. The prime rib toast was simply delicious. I'll come back again! :)

We came for a bachelorette party & had the privilege of being served by Charlie. He was a great sport considering we were a table of 8. We the restaurant has a dark and moody vibe which is nice. It's kind of sexy. The food is delicious. All the meats came out yummy and cooked perfectly the way we liked it. The mushrooms were the fave if the table!

This restaurant is AMAZING 11/10! The ambience is fantastic--romantic and cozy in the evening and bright and beautiful in the morning! The food is genuinely some of the most delicious food I've ever had IN MY LIFE! They have a prime rib special on Sundays which is incredible and their brunch mimosa flight is to die for. Not only is the food and space great but the service was spectacular. Kate our server was so incredibly kind and attentive and even gave us recommendations of places to visit in Banff while we're here! She was AWESOME! Cannot recommend Bluebird enough, we will definitely be back!

Beef tenderloin rare. Beef quality is so high, rare was a fine choice

Beautiful building/decor, friendly service and Prime Alberta beef which for the uninitiated means grass fed and free range. The best! The French onion soup was the best we've ever had. Prime rib and beef tenderloin (6 ounce) perfectly cooked. Side of garlic aioli Brussels sprouts were tender and delicious. French fries w rosemary were excellent. A Malbec by the glass went well w the beef. The Faux-groni was quite tasty. Don't leave without the Key Lime pie piled high w a cream topping that had hints of coconut. To die for. Total w tip $255CAD.

Highly recommend this experience. We came as a group and was greeted warmly and promptly served. Even though the staff was well busy, they took time to ensure we understood exactly what we were getting. You can tell the team here works great together! Paired with the chefs that prepared the meal, this place is what you'd want if you're after a steakhouse vibe. Flavors are abundant, and the calming atmosphere is certainly nice after a long day. I personally would recommend the Ribeye, but I'm sure you cannot go wrong with anything else on that menu!

Made reservations for 4:30pm, but we were in the area a little earlier around 4. Asked if we could be seated early, and they were able to accommodate us. Ambiance/Decor: very cozy, modern, ski chalet Food: *Espresso Martini 4/5: (not pictured) don't usually drink alcohol, but wanted to try their spirits since Park's/Park was locally made. still tasty and strong w/ the extra foam on top *French Onion Soup 5/5: was our first FOS and it was delicious, savory, and hearty for the cold night--loved the crispy bread inside and it was the perfect start to our meal *Prime Rib Fondue 3/5: came for the happy hour special and added on the prime rib option that was provided; this was our first time trying fondue as well so we didn't know what to expect. Fondue was made out of 3 types of cheese-but it was pretty grainy and I'm not 100% sure if it was suppose to be like that. Came with a side of baby pickles, pieces of bread, and fingerling potatoes. With the addition of the prime rib, the waitress also warned us that the quality wouldn't be as great as the other meats provided and she was correct. The prime rib was pretty tough and it seemed like it was overcooked, however that was probably the best dipping item we had compared to the other sides provided. *Side of mushrooms 5/5: (not pictured) creamy, and the addition of chicken on top made this my partner's favorite dish. Overall, we may have not tried the right dishes, but had a lot more expectations from the fondue since that was one of the main dishes for the happy hour. However, service and ambiance was not an issue--everything else was great!

All the different textures and flavors worked really well together and the salad served as a nice break between bites of pizza. The Wheeler Hut pizza has mushrooms, ricotta, truffle oil, pesto, and mozzarella. If you're a fan of truffle flavor you'll enjoy this pizza. As soon as it was brought out I could already smell the truffle. A little busier than the Wheeler Hut, but it was equally delicious. I'm not sure which pizza I liked more. Both pizzas had a fantastic crust with some char. Substantial enough to stand up to the toppings but still a little doughy for a nice chew. The char gives a nice crunch as well. Service is quick and friendly and the prices are fair, especially in a tourist area. I definitely recommend Bear Street Tavern.
