I stopped here before an appointment and was very glad I did! They menu is varied for both breakfast/bakery and lunch. I was here for lunch and ordered one of the quiche specials: goetta and potato. It was delicious! I wish I wasn't so hungry so I had time to remember to take a photo. The quiche portion was good and served at the perfect temperature. The blend of goetta, potatoes and other cheeses was balanced well. Crust was cooked well and not soggy. Plating was attractive with a variety of fresh fruit: strawberry, green grapes, orange and pineapple. I debated whether I should get the quiche or the meatloaf sandwich, but I'll have to stop back to try that one. Menu board listed daily specials for soup and quiches as well as sandwiches and salads. Plenty from which to choose. Food was brought quickly to my table after ordering at counter. There are 4-tops and a larger family style table as well as counter style eating that looks out upon the quaint square and train depot. Although the signs in front of cafe indicate 15 minute maximum parking, the staff said that was not applicable for patrons wanting to eat in so I returned to my car while my order was prepped to grab some work I needed to review. Quaint, charming little place. You'll hardly ever find a person under the age of 60 in here, so that can tell you a lot. Twinkle lights, modest tables and chairs, pour-your-own coffee, and helpful service. Because there was no key lime pie, we opted for the key lime bar, which apparently is NOT the same thing. Although the crust of the bar was divine, the lime portion of the pastry was a bit too sweet/sugary. It tastes like the Jello gellatin sugar. Yeah... But still, I'd finish eating it just because the crust is so good. I got the chocolate dipped macaroon. It's not your typical macaroon, and I thought it was amazing. So there's my recommendation. We heard UK folks thought the scones here were lovely, so we took some to-go. Cream cheese and cranberry/orange. Both were good (can't say I can differentiate good scones from the bad), but the cream cheese was a pleasant surprise. I ordered and purchased a peach pie from this bakery for my daughter for her birthday. Having bought pies from here before, I felt the this would be a special treat for her since peach pie was her favorite and it is peach season. I happened to be at her house a few days after I gave her the pie and noticed that very little was eaten. I asked if I could try a piece and found that the peaches were obviously not cooked completely. The were very hard and crunchy. I apologized for having given her a pie that I would not eat myself. I called Bluebird Bakery the next morning and spoke to the owner whose response I found to be very underwhelming. She not only did not make any gesture of apology or compensation, I had to suggest myself that she should pass this information on the the baker. Even though I am an avid patron of bakeries, I will not be returning to Bluebird Bakery. read more

I met a friend here for a business breakfast on Friday and it was the best. I had coffee and a breakfast sandwich (whole wheat, bacon & egg with cheese) which was simple and good, really hit the spot. My colleague had three different kinds of pastries (hungry guy) and was considering one more flavor! They are all good, but the scones are perfection! Lunch is good too. I've had the quiche and fruit and the Asian noodle salad is always a winner. They have Blue Plate specials and regular items. Everything is made fresh here and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. There's a kids table with toys and also a "community" table for anyone who wants to join the discussion group that seems to congregate in the morning. Order at the counter and they bring your food to your table, self serve coffee and cold drinks. The bakery is right there and they make your food in plain sight, very clean and homey, it's like you're watching Mom make your lunch at the kitchen counter! Get a cookie or a Blondie to go when you leave. Pies and cakes are made to order and have won awards every year around the holidays. (You can definitely pass them off as homemade, since they are). Incredible, quaint, delicious, and inviting bakery and cafe. Everything was DELICIOUS! I had the quiche, served with fresh fruit, my husband and son had a baked breakfast sandwich and my daughter had a blueberry muffin. Everything was as good as the next. People that were patrons were as kind as the staff. As we purchased some scones to go, another patron changed her order to free up one of the scones we had mentioned trying. I called from Calif. and owner Jenny helped me show my Mother how much I love Her. She Baked my Mother a Carrot Cake, and delivered it herself,with a big smile on her day off. My Mother is 89, it was my Birthday. Mom was thrilled (for days)! I also ordered Egg Salad Sandwich and soup. She said it was Soooo Good! The wife and I were in Sharonville for a furniture show and needed a place to do lunch. As usual, I pulled out the phone so Yelp could tell us what was close. There were a few fast food joints and some interesting options in Glendale. Bluebird had me at Bakery because I love baked goods! As we quickly discovered, Glendale is a great little town with Bluebird smack in the center of it! I had the meatloaf sandwich while my wife had the curry chicken croissant. Both were great! It was like eating food you made at home, which I consider to be a good thing! And as far as the baked good go...there were too many! I got a piece of peanut butter pie, a dense treat that was kind of like the center of a Reese's cup. My wife had a piece of the chocolate tort, or as they called it, the Tuxedo cake. It was apparently quite good because I didn't get a bite! Atmosphere-wise, it was a fun little cafe with lots of baked goods cases. There were plenty of regulars, including an elderly gentleman who was greeted by name and they already had his order waiting for him. Now that's service! If you are in Glendale, GO. Driving through Glendale I happened to stop at the Bluebird. What a great surprise. Absolutely the best pastry I have had in Cincinnati. Homemade and very reasonable.the last time I was in I tried their homemade chicken pot pie for lunch. Don't miss this and the coffee cake. Now my whole family are regular customers.
