Conveniently located before you cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. A cozy little shop that you can enjoy a quick breakfast or lunch before you start your day. The staff is very helpful and they have great coffee choices.

This was my first visit to Blue Rooster Cafe (although I used to love its sister restaurant, Soul). I just stopped in to wait for a friend who was having a PT session up the way. The coffee was great and the everything bagel was soft & fresh, with a big slab of cream cheese. The young woman at the register was very friendly. I wish it was just down the block from my house so I could go more often, but I'll be back!

Best shrimp and grits I've eaten in a restaurant. The coffee is brewed properly; coffee drinks are prepared carefully to order. The sammies are freshly made and satisfying. When going to the shore, I'll be getting off Route 50 and stopping in here for some sophisticated eats.

We've lived in the area for a while and never got around to visiting this restaurant. I'm glad we finally did. The Blue Rooster Café is very cute, the staff were friendly, and the food was great. We stopped in for a late breakfast and chose the steak & eggs, shrimp & grits, and the Works on a croissant. Everyone loved their dish! The dining area is nice and cozy and you seat yourself after ordering at the counter. There were several items on the menu that sounded great so we'll definitely be back. We also plan to purchase their coffee beans as the coffee was fantastic. Overall, a very good experience and I know that this will now become a regular stop for us.

One of our go to local spots! My son loves it! I often get breakfast to go and order it online and pick it up. The staff is great and it's a cute little restaurant! We have loved everything we have ever got. They also have always ice cream now which is amazing!

1st time here - likely last time here too. The food was really good but the service and the large amount of flies that were very bothersome diminished the experience. The Cubano sandwich was very good. Very tasty and a large sandwich accompanied by Old Bay fries made for a very good lunch. Also tried the strawberry shortcake pancakes which tasted great! The service was absurd. The young man taking the order missed items as I ordered and then forgot to finalize them, leaving a missed item. Another employee came from the back to assist so maybe a new employee but pretty unbelievable considering there was no one else in line to order so should not have been overwhelmed. The flies. I noticed a couple of flies when I first walked in but it is a restaurant so not totally unusual. I washed hands in the bathroom and discovered I was surrounded by a large group of flies, even though there was a hanging, paper fly strip in the bathroom. Upon sitting down at a table, the flies attacked and didn't stop. Every bite of food was accompanied by numerous flies attempting to land on the food. There was no end to it. I would say there is an infestation. I would give the food 5 stars but the overall experience was a 3 due to the service and the flies.

Passed by this little place and finally made it in. I'm glad. The food was tasty and the ambiance was quaint. We enjoyed a light lunch, just before closing. The staff didn't hurry and that resulted in two magnificent dishes. They also didn't rush us out! We only stayed a couple of minutes past closing.

Do they use fresh blueberries or are they the equivalent of Denny's or IHOP in their pancakes?

Hi Scott. Thanks for asking. We always use fresh blueberries in our pancakes. The local produce has been amazing this season.

The hostess and waitress were so kind, friendly, and accommodating! They brought out a water bowl for our dog. We ordered the whole oysters flash fried (special of the day), the shrimp and grits, and the shrimp salad sandwich with island fries (upgraded for 3.50). The oysters were fantastic. Freshly fried and super juicy. We loved them. Our sandwich and shrimp&grits took a while to get to us, but worth the wait. The shrimp in the grits were massive. My husband couldn't finish it all. The shrimp salad was stellar. And the brioche bun went so well. I will say the island fries had a spice we didn't love. The queso dip it came with was good. Didn't love the chili aioli it came with. It was weirdly sweet. I'd probably stick to the regular fries next time. Service is a little slower than were use to, but it definitely fit the vibe of the area. Just low key and relaxing. We would definitely come back!

At Preserve, consistency is not the point, evolution is. Each visit feels slightly different,…read moreshaped by a menu that shifts with the seasons and refuses to coast on familiarity. That restlessness works in its favor. The space is compact, almost disarming at first. Then it settles around you. There is a quiet intimacy to the room, the kind that feels less designed and more lived in. It leans closer to a welcoming home than a polished dining room, without losing its sense of purpose. The food carries that same balance. Thoughtful, seasonal, and just unpredictable enough to keep you paying attention. Cocktails follow suit, measured and deliberate, never an afterthought. For Annapolis, where good options are not exactly rare, this place still manages to separate itself. It belongs firmly in the top tier of the city's dining scene, and it earns that position every time it changes the menu and starts over again.

Both were tasty and had interesting flavors that worked. The portions were great. You can tell that great care and thought is put into to the menu. The burger and fries looked amazing - on special and lots of people around us were ordering it. Would have ordered that if we were eating a bigger meal. This is a gem of a place. Truly crafty food and drinks. Highly recommend trying them out. Would come back again.

But I have a few caveats: Very pricey: The quality is decent, but the cost is on the high side for what you get. We got the 2 special of the day. My gf and I got the meatloaf sandwich with korean bbq sauce and crab cake sandwich which were $15 each. Both of the sandwiches were good, got good flavor and plenty of crab. The fries were the worse thing I've ever had they were not crispy and mushy texture. Its the saddest fry Ive ever seen. Long wait time: Be prepared to wait. There were 2 servers both handling the inside and outside tables. Not for when you're in a hurry: If you've got limited time, this place is not the best pick the wait and service pace can really drag. If you're looking for a relaxed meal and don't mind spending a little more, Caroline's is pleasant. But if you're on a schedule or want value, you might want to try somewhere else.
