I had been looking everywhere with no luck, and then while walking through Cap Hill I spotted the PERFECT pair of black and pink TrippNYC cargo pants in the window. I went inside and asked two lovely associates Tiara and Maria about them, and even though the store was out of stock, they did not give up on me. These two literally pulled a full mannequin out of the window display, moved all the merch around it, pulled the pants off and practically undressed the poor guy, just so I could try them on. I'm not kidding. That is NEXT LEVEL customer service. The mannequin was wearing a medium and I usually wear a large, so I thought it was over. But since they're super baggy cargos, we decided to try it anyway... PERFECT. FIT. Not only did they fit, but they matched perfectly. I walked out with exactly what I was hoping for, and honestly it made my whole day. Huge shoutout to Tiara and Maria for being so kind, helpful, and willing to go way above and beyond. The lady working here was very nice and told us the place was the coming together of two adjacent stores, Panache Clothing and New York Exchange I believe. It's hard to nail down exactly what this place is - Part costume store, part specialty store, part fashion boutique. If you're looking for just about everything from a formal top hat to a skimpy leather outfit, some designer shoes or a knife you'd see in Underworld, they've probably got it. It feels uniquely Seattle and it was a fun place to spend 20 minutes! We were looking for a hat specifically as it was stereotypically raining outside. The selection was rather vast and included bowlers hats, townie type caps and some boss level top hats! In the back, we even found an American flag themed Fedora for $5 - Win! While most of the stuff here isn't our dig, the place has a cool vibe, the employees were very chill and there was plenty to look at and try on, plus you'll probably find something you didn't know you needed.

Though I've only had one experience at Queen Anne Tailors, I'd say it is a reliable place to get…read moreyour tailoring done. I needed a gown hemmed with less than 1 month notice, and they took it without grumbling. They had it ready the morning of the day I requested it be finished. The price was about $130, which seemed a bit pricy but I went through with it anyway. I asked for the front of the gown to just touch the floor and have a slight train in the back - I think they did a good job overall. The bottom of the gown (the area they hemmed) looks good as new (no strings hanging off). When I tried it on afterwards I think it's ever so slightly shorter than what I wanted, but barely. I would return here if I needed another tailoring job. The staff seemed to be good, honest people who care about their work. Though, if you're looking for somewhere very cheap, I suggest going elsewhere.

I brought in a pair of pants because the seam around the bottom couple of inches of the zipper had…read morestarted unraveling and puckering. I explained the problem when I dropped them off and expected the zipper area to be repaired. When I picked them up, I discovered that the "repair" was simply sewing the bottom approximately two inches of the zipper shut. The zipper now physically cannot open all the way, which makes the pants considerably harder to get into. This was not explained to me beforehand or presented as a limitation of the repair. When I pointed out the problem, rather than discussing whether there was another solution, he repeatedly told me, "That's all I can do" and "What do you want?" The interaction was gruff and dismissive, and there was no attempt to address the fact that the repair had compromised the actual function of the zipper. I paid to have my pants repaired, not to have part of the zipper permanently sewn closed. I would not return.

She tailored the living heck out of that shirt and now it's one of my favorites. I have turned to her repeatedly ever since for exactly this kind of work: tailoring menswear. She's perfectly customized slacks, jackets and many button-up shirts and her prices are remarkably reasonable. I brought another shirt to a different tailor much closer to where I live and was charged twice as much for similar work. Cho is a keeper.

The time to also get your one basic alterations done are way too long...so if you are in a rush don't come here. The woman who owns the shop is not horrible, but for sure she is not friendly...at all. I also thought it was an oddity to pay up front. I have lived in Los Angeles, Manhattan, Chicago and I have never been asked to pay up front. The shop itself is clean and well organized, my alterations were done OK. But that is about it. There is no outstanding customer service besides overcharging and taking money. There is barely a hello and a thank you. When I came back to get my item, it was thrown haphazardly into a plastic bag...not hung on a hanger or anything, so when I got home, I had to steam an item that was brand new...to get all the wrinkles out (that was not wrinkled when I dropped it off).
