The movers tried to demand an extra 60% in cash over my prepaid flat rate. They argued there were more boxes than the quote - in reality there were only a couple more and they tried to take advantage this. One guy worked very hard but the rest worked very slowly to draw out the time. Don't work with these guys, very unethical. read more

I recently had a move that needed to be performed in two stages. Blue moving exceeded my expectations. They were very fair in assessing the cost of the move, and the movers were the most polite, knowledgeable, and careful movers I've ever seen. I've witnessed other moving companies (Flat Rate and Divine Moving) hide costs and try to jack up prices for friends of mine by charging exorbitant fees for boxes, etc. Blue Moving simply charged based on cubic footing and packing glassware, if asked. We moved a 1 bedroom apartment from Inwood/Manhattan to Jersey City. The movers arrived 30 minutes into the 2 hour arrival window which was great, and they were very fast and efficient (even though one mover said they had been taking their time, but we thought it was quick!). We felt so comfortable with the 3 movers, they handled everything with extreme care. They had great attitudes, were friendly, and made the whole day completely stress-free. Our inventory list of items that were moving had changed slightly from the time we made the reservation to move-in day. Some items were no longer moving with us, and some new items were. there's an old saying "get a good reputation and if you rob a church, no one will believe you did it". applying this to blue moving company explains the really negative experience i recently had 1)i had them do a move 2years ago...there was.damage to crystal and dresser and boxes were dumped just inside door of my apt. they did however make a good faith effort to repair furniture(good job) and offer a paltry amount of money for the damaged crystal( if i recall just $15 for an expensive crystal. simutaneously i had recommended a customer to them for whom there were no outstanding issues.. because of the prior good faith attempt and the customer i recommended i decided to try them again.. big mistake!!!!~! 2) most current move-----damage to newly finished floors and a several thousand dollar lithograph/ in addition they sent 3 men(one who was limping due to an operation 2 weeks before) to do a 4 man job in order to meet the move-in time deadline my cleaning girl had to assist in opening crates...lifting furniture and cleaning up debris. if this isnt a liability issue i don't know what is. the agent did submit a request as in the prior move but there were no good-faith corrections on their part.......i would never use them again or recommend them. remember what i said at the beginning...think twice read more

Moving during Mercury retrograde is bound to have some mishaps, but I had a great experience with Blue Moving. Mike and the rest of the guys were prompt, careful, and wrapped everything very well. Upon arriving to the new apartment, they were unable to get my large sofa up the stairs. They were very patient with me as I had a minor panic attack about abandoning it, and referred me to a company who was able to get it up the stairs (crisis averted!)
