What a great experience. They all had really positive attitudes which brightened up my day. Well needed when moving is so stressful. A few of them were impressively strong, solo handling a large piece of furniture. A few had been doing moving for years. They were early, fast, and better than expected. Four men for a 1 bedroom apartment. They accommodated me too last minute. I found them on unpakt, but unpakt couldn't book one to two days in advance. Buyer beware. I had a horrible experience due to the fact that my shoes, clothing and jewelry mysteriously disappeared. I reported it immediately, only to be told to call back when I finished unpacking. I called back and was quickly dismissed, and told it was too late to report the incident. The owner basically defended the behavior. To add insult to injury, I tipped the guys $280, and they still robbed me while smiling. Do not be fooled by all the favorable reviews, these guys are thieves, and I'm filing a complaint with every regulatory agency known to mankind. They will not get away with stealing from me. Just know that you are purchasing this service at a risk. There are other companies that are honorable and decent. Give them a try. read more

Hired Blue Moving for a small half-day move (emptying a storage locker) after comparing 6 or 7 companies, and I'm very glad I did. Everything about the experience was positive. The pre-move experience was completely trustworthy and professional, and most of our communication ended up happening beween 5:00 and 6:00 pm-- they didn't shut down at the crack of 5:00, and we were able to do the certificate of insurance, etc, in a super-timely fashion. The day of the move the three guys who showed up were an absolute pleasure-- strong, smart, experienced, and great banter because they'd all known each other since high school. They worked their asses off, got things done quickly, and there wasn't an shred of an iota of anything approaching negativity from anyone at any time. Anthony was very personable and helpful with the quote process, and worked with us to find the best date / pricing combo. The move itself was SO SMOOTH. The 3 guys were friendly, professional, and super helpful. My partner and I were expecting the move to be a lot more stressful, but they made it so easy on us. They showed up on time (a few minutes early actually), and were moving quickly but carefully (nothing was broken that we know of - we still have a few unopened boxes, but everything we've opened has been in perfect condition). We were really just pleasantly surprised and relieved by the end of the move. I hesitated between 4 and 5 stars because there was one hiccup that could have been avoided by the company, and I want to make sure they fix this in the future, so that customers like ourselves can have a glowing review without reservations. The hiccup was that a few days after the move, we checked our credit card statement and found that they had overcharged us by almost 20% of the total charge. I called immediately and they apologized and explained there was a glitch in the billing system, and they issued a refund, which I received just a few days later. This was a bit of a bummer because our experience was so great - really the best moving experience ever. And we feel this billing glitch was unnecessary, or at the very least, if the company knows there could be glitches like this, they should proactively double-check what they're charging their customers and fix it, as opposed to wait for the customers to report the issue and ask for their money back. read more

Blue Moving was exceptional from beginning to end. I was moving all my belongings from a storage unit to an apartment. Edward the dispatcher was really wonderful and made the booking a smooth experience with no hiccups. It really was an easy process. Ilir and his team were incredibly efficient, friendly and fast. They were early for pickup and waited for me at the storage location, and had everything packed and ready to go in less than an hour. I recently used Blue Moving to move apartments. Mitko was incredibly helpful in coordinating logistics, and I was very impressed with the app they provided for me to take video and photos of the apartment to properly estimate the level of effort and number of boxes. On moving day, three gentlemen arrived and made swift work of packing everything far more expertly than I could ever hope to do. On the move-in side, everything arrived in great condition and with not a single thing broken, and they helped get all furniture into the desired place. Overall great service and value. Very happy with their service. Mitko asked to do a visual inspection of my 1 BR apartment first, which I liked because it would result in less surprises in the end. Other websites that try to match you with movers just made you fill out a checklist of common items, but may charge you more at the end. During the inspection, we agreed on which services I wanted, which was to pack and move. I explained that the building I was moving to could only receive the movers until 5pm. He formulated a plan to pre-pack earlier to guarantee I would make that window. Everything during the packing went smoothly. The team arrived as promised, finished packing within the morning. The movers were polite and hardworking, and the move went smoothly and finished with a lot of time to spare. Best of all, none of my items were damaged. When I followed up and indicated my desire to proceed, I was sent documents to sign that indicated a $2300 price tag! By far the BEST movers I have had in 13 years and 5 moves in NYC! Would highly recommend them and use them again in a heartbeat. I found Blue Movers through an app that helps get quotes from different companies. They were one of the most reasonably priced so I called to ask some questions because I needed someone to both PACK and MOVE my pregnant wife and I in a one-day time frame. The person I spoke with for 15 minutes answered all of my questions thoroughly and eventually told me he was the owner of Blue Moving. I had some special requests including dropping one piece of furniture off at another location on our way, all of which he happily accommodated and for reasonable prices. I asked if I should book directly with him rather than through the app due to all my special requests and he said that because they had brought my business to him he wouldn't feel right about doing that - so impressive! Blue Moving showed up with all the boxes, tape, and packing materials needed to pack our 1.5 bedroom apartment in Brooklyn, moved us to a new location 1.5 hours away, and helped put all our furniture and boxes into the rooms where they belonged. All-in-all it was a 13-hour day and their fee was SO reasonable, almost half of what other companies quoted, and all done in one day! The movers were incredibly polite and gentle with our belongings. NOTHING broke, and everything was organized as well or better than we could have done ourselves. When unpacking our furniture and boxes from the truck into each room they even opened up a couple wardrobe boxes they had provided for our hanging closet items and hung those items in our new closet! I had been waiting for a closing date and of course I received it for 2 days after I was notified. I had to move a 3 level house to another state over night. The whole idea of moving is stressful, but moving in NYC is an absolute nightmare. I have never hired movers for past moves but decided now is the time to do so. I contacted half a dozen movers in the area and decided on Blue Moving because of the price, availability (I moved my move date a week early last minute and they said "no problem"), and because of their flat rate and no hidden fee approach. The invoice Miles sent was very well detailed and explained what was included in the move. The flat rate price was in the middle of prices for quotes I received elsewhere. Keep in mind this rate was flat rate, so it would be the same price whether it took an hour or 10 hours to complete the job. The day of the move the movers arrived on time and were friendly and courteous through the process. They worked hard and worked diligently, they took care in packaging and moving my items. They had my entire wrapped, packed, and loaded within a couple hours. They arrived at my new place and immediately started unloading. They asked me where every piece of furniture and box should go so I wouldn't have to move it later myself. None of my items were damaged during the loading, moving, and unloading process. **This next section is the key to their 5 star review** My new apartment was a 2nd floor walk up with a very narrow staircase. As a result, some damage occurred on the wall (gouge and drywall hole) during the process of moving a large and heavy couch. As soon as it was safe to do so, one of the movers told me about the damage, pointed it out, and took photos of the damage. He informed me that Blue Moving would contact me about the damage. My move was insured (it might have even come standard in the contract Miles sent me) so I wasn't concerned, but I also wasn't expecting a prompt followup. After the movers left, Mitko (the Owner) from Blue Moving contacted me about the damage and told me either I could get an estimate for the repair and have someone fix it and be reimbursed or they could send someone to fix the damage for free. Mitko also gave me the option to receive compensation in lieu of repair. Mitko replied quickly and courteously. In the end I asked for compensation and he and I came to an acceptable value to which he reimbursed me immediately. Overall my entire move process was fantastic, which is saying a lot because moving can be so stressful and terrible. Blue Moving is an excellent moving company and I will be sure to use their services for any upcoming moves. They arrived on time (early in fact) and the two man crew worked quickly to prep and move my PC and large furniture items including a disassembled glass top desk. The items seemed to have been handled with proper care and upon delivery and inspection was not damaged. My project was relatively small (10 furniture pieces, no boxes) though required some travel (1.5 hr drive) to drop off, maneuvering from 22nd floor across the complex plaza to street parked truck, but I appreciated the courteous customer service from start to finish and didn't feel nickeled and dimed. I foolishly started looking for movers only one week before my big move. Just to move a studio from queens to Hell's Kitchen was coming out to be over $600 and they were all hourly. Then I came across Blue Moving and the words "flat rate" caught my eye. I was a little skeptical because of low number of reviews on yelp and their affordability, so I called the manager to get a feel for their company. He made me feel so assured, he stood by the rate they quoted me, and really worked with me to make sure my move gets taken care of when I need it. The guys who came in to move me, must have spent 5 hours for my walkup, but they never once complained, paid for parking on their own, had great professionalism and demeanor. Most of all, I felt really safe and secure with the guys. They even fixed one of my drawers that was broken from my last move! They didn't ask for more money even though I feel they deserved twice what I paid them. They truly made this nerve wrecking experience so seamless for me, I couldn't have asked for a better company to work with. Not only will I recommend them to everyone I know, I'm definitely calling them again next time I move! In the past we always moved using Intense Movers, a different company, but this year they inadvertently gave our date/time slot away (frustrating) and so we had to find another company. I'm so thankful we went with Blue Moving. The team of 4 showed up prepared, on time, and ready to work quickly. They carefully wrapped our furniture in cloth and it was clear they were taking all precautions to make sure nothing was damaged. The crew was delightful and genuinely kind. They were able to accommodate our condo companies' strict COI requirements too. All went as expected. Nightmare Move: The movers showed up unprepared and dressed unprofessionally. They ran out of blankets to cover our furniture which delayed the initial packing up process. After they left the apartment with our belongings packed up, the true nightmare began. Their first truck broke down and they had to move all of our belongings to a new truck on the side of the road in NYC. After they moved everything, the second truck ran out of gas on the 59th street bridge. (At least this is what they told us, we had no idea what was going on after five hours. It took them almost six hours to get from our original destination to the new one, which was a total of five miles) The moving crew damaged walls, floors, fixtures and a bunch of our furniture. They also lost a mirror that we loved. Our brand new apartment was trashed when the moving crew was finished with it. They harassed us for a tip before they left (the bed wasn't even setup, we had to sleep on the floor on a dirty mattress.) To this day, I'm still receiving phone calls from someone from the moving crew, someone who was apparently fired after our job. I can't imagine it's a friendly phone call, my girlfriend is actually scared. Do yourself a favor and find a more reputable company to avoid something like this. We turned down other companies because this one offered a better price, but I suppose this is the kind of service you should expect. You get what you pay for! *Note - To be fair, the owner sent in a troubleshooter a day later in order to help patch up the damages. This does not, however, diminish the fact that the experience was terrible. read more

They argued there were more boxes than the quote - in reality there were only a couple more and they tried to take advantage this.
