(Extra large trash bags can come in really handy.). Pre-pack as much as you can 2-3 weeks in advance too. Last, I recommend you offer waters / snacks, and I think tipping guideline is about $20 / mover per 2 hours (they certainly deserved it). Thanks!!

They treated our homes (the one we moved out of and the one we moved into) with the utmost care and respect and were such nice guys to spend the day with. The price was very very reasonable - right in line with the estimate, no surprise charges. Far less than I expected to pay. We had a three man crew, and one man seemed to be very confused about where to go and what to do at all times. I have moved twice in the city before and both times have been way faster and efficient. My partner and I ended up helping unload the truck and boxes ourselves just to keep them moving along. I also had to supply them my own blanket to wrap a computer monitor in because they did not know how to pack it. In addition, I found that the extra costs were a bit much. We were charged a driving time of 30 mins to get to the first location even though the apartment was a 10 minute drive from the warehouse. We were also told we would get a $60 "box credit" which helped cover TV boxes on the day of the move, but then we got charged an additional $100 for other materials used (blankets, tape, wrap, etc.) Normally moving companies do not charge you for tape. They got our belongings from point A to point B, and nothing was majorly damaged. However, I am not sure we would use this moving company again.

Upon entering our apartment, one of the movers, before even introducing himself, wanted to know if he could take the window a/c units home for himself. They spilled coffee all the way down our landlord's steps and now she's asking us to pay for a $250 cleaning bill. They complained to us the entire day about having to move all the boxes and furniture (you know, they job they were hired to do). At our new home, they left garbage everywhere and our large furniture items upside down and left in shrink wrap. They damaged or destroyed so many pieces of furniture, including tearing a huge hole in our couch. They slammed down a box that was clearly marked fragile; every glass inside was carefully wrapped in foam and paper, but their extreme treatment still shattered a glass into a thousand pieces. And since they have the payment, they don't care; they refuse to answer or return our calls now. Oh, and they don't inform you until the end when they demand payment the same day that they will upcharge you if you try to use a credit card. I can't recommend other movers enough. Mystical Moving Company…read more I was happy to work with Shonari for my move from New Jersey to South Carolina as he had come highly recommended. After 3 visits to assess the job - 1 virtual and 2 in person - my family and I were told "You have less than I thought - No problem", that it would take "3 Hours to pack the truck" and further that "We'll pack anything you didn't." To our dismay, it took 7+ hours instead of 3 hours. In about the 7th hour we were informed that there was no room left in the truck for several items. Thus a sleep sofa, 3 tables, 3 indoor trees, cleaning supplies and other items- both of utility and sentimental value - were trashed. Unbeknownst to us at the time, various other items of value were left behind in the house. Having already protracted our departure time by 4 hours, at this point we had to depart so as not to lose our hotel reservation in North Carolina. The sum total of the replacement value of the trashed and left behind items borders on $2,000. Beyond the monetary loss is the emotional loss - possessions of deep sentimental value, many of which are irreplaceable. Finally, upon unpacking and realizing that 1 of the 4 -carefully wrapped by us - identical and irreplaceable indoor lamp posts was missing, I twice phoned Shonari but could not leave a message of inquiry as the voice mail had not been set up. Ultimately i emailed him, politely inquiring if he may know of its whereabouts (See Below). Upon receiving no response, i emailed again. To this day I have received NO RESPONSE. This whole experience was quite horrifying to me since I was completely misled, and had to leave behind many valuable and expensive items, some irreplaceable. The tangible loss is extremely painful, but to be ignored feels even worse. I recommend you use a different moving company. Hi Shonari.... I was wondering if you could solve a mystery that none of us can. This is regarding 1 of 4 white torch lights (about 5 1/2 fee tall with glass bulb enclosure at top). My daughters distinctly remember taping them carefully to prevent breakage - knowing how valuable they are to me. We have combed every nook & cranny in the house and can only find 3 of them. I have tried to reach you by phone, but to no avail; and your voice mail is not set up. Thus, I am emailing. Any insight you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance, Sincerely,

Unfortunately, right after they left, the couch leg collapsed. I contacted them, and one day later, sent a person who worked very diligently to fix it. He admitted to accidentally breaking it. I said, no problem as long as it's fixed. That couch wasn't even four years old. It's a name brand. However, it broke again on May 28th. Throughout the whole process, I remained polite, professional, and most of all kind and pleasant. Maybe this was my mistake. I sent an email with several pictures, and my contact person said that all communication with us is ended since the insurance company will now handle it. She attached a claim form. But the claim form didn't have a number or the name of the insurance company. I finished the claim form and sent it to them one week later. I requested confirmation of it. Nothing. I sent another email requesting confirmation. Nothing, no reply. Two weeks later, not hearing anything from an insurance company, I sent another email requesting the insurance company's name. Nothing. No response. Even though I had told them that since I injured my back, I worked on that couch. It's how I made my living. Why have they ghosted me? I would NEVER hire them. It is now July. My couch is still broken. They are taking no responsibility whatsoever.
