Came here for dinner recently (no reservation around 7:30pm) and had a great experience. Service was pretty quick and nice. Glass was always promptly refilled. The interior is nice, you can watch the employees make naan through a big glass window and the area clearly looks very clean and well-kept. The garlic naan was probably the best I've ever had in the US. I had the lamb tikka masala also, and we got a lot of lamb plus the sauce was delicious. Not as spicy as I prefer , but that's okay. Food is excellent. This was our second time here. The place sounded familiar but the menu and photos didn't look familiar. Always write your reviews, people. Or take photos. Anyway, as soon as we walked in we recognized the place. I may have gotten the same thing I got last time but again, no review and nonexistent memory, so I can't be sure. I got the dhaniya murgh masala, which is a bone in chicken masala that looks a lot spicier than it is. Still kinda spicy though. Delicious. The food here was really, really good. I ordered the saffron butter chicken, and it was absolutely amazing -- rich, creamy, and full of flavor. You could actually see the saffron strands throughout the dish, which I loved because it showed attention to detail and quality ingredients. I also had the garlic naan, which was perfectly done -- flavorful without being overpowering -- and a side of raita with cucumber, which was super refreshing and balanced the richness of the butter chicken really well. Now for the service -- it was a bit slow, which I'm assuming was because we came close to closing time. Still, I would've expected things to move a little quicker since it wasn't as busy. My biggest concern though was the cleanliness of the dishes. They brought out additional plates and cutlery, but unfortunately, multiple plates were visibly dirty. After being offered a few that were all the same, I just chose to eat directly from my original dish and avoid using them altogether. That part was definitely disappointing and something that needs attention. Blue India is an elegant Indian restaurant and bar. It usually gets busy at night, which is the only time I have been, and seating can get limited quickly as the space is not the biggest. It is located in Midtown, so parking might also be a hassle but there is a nearby parking lot and the restaurant also gives parking validation. The atmosphere inside tends to be quite lively and there is usually at least one large party there. The service is also good and the food does not take too long to come out. I always order the Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, and Mango Lassi at Indian restaurants. I want to start off by saying that I LOVE their Mango Lassi! It tastes extremely creamy and smooth, but not too sweet. I also really enjoy eating their Chicken Tikka Masala as it is packed with flavor and spice (I get a medium spice level). I do feel like their Garlic Naan could taste more garlicky, but that is because I am a huge garlic lover. I will say that this restaurant is a bit pricey and the portion sizes are not too big, at least for the Mango Lassi and Chicken Tikka Masala; however, the dishes taste great. This place has a wonderful ambiance. It feels very intimate and classy but is also casual and comfortable. We were greeted warmly from the instant we entered and were treated wonderfully our entire lunch. The server was very friendly and attentive. My friend and I ordered and split the butter chicken with rice, the raisin coconut naan and juju beach bhel. Everything was absolutely incredible. Honestly the best butter chicken I've ever had and that raisin coconut naan was so wonderfully unusual and went beautifully with the butter chicken. The crunchy bhel was very different but fresh and light, a nice cold dish to accompany the chicken. The butter chicken is really too small to share by itself but with the naan and the appetizer also shared, it was enough for my friend and myself. I highly recommend this restaurant. I had a really disappointing experience at Blue India, and it left a bad impression. When I arrived, I was told I had to place my order to-go because they were "closing soon," so I went ahead, paid, and even tipped. However, while I was there, I noticed Indian customers coming in after me and being allowed to sit down and dine without being told the same thing. When we started discussing it, the waiter approached us and gave an explanation that honestly didn't make sense--saying that if we had dined in, we would have been rushed, but since we ordered takeout, our food would be "handled with care." That would have been useful information before I was told takeout was my only option. To make matters worse, as he was explaining this, another Indian couple walked in, sat down, and were not told anything about needing to rush or order to-go. The inconsistency in how customers were treated was very noticeable and uncomfortable. As a paying customer who was respectful and even tipped on a takeout order, I expected fair and equal treatment. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses how customers are being handled, because this experience felt unfair and unprofessional. read more

This is my second visit to Blue India. My first was for a Yelp event. If you're looking for a Pan- Indian fare and cocktails with an upscale dining experience, then this would be it. The ambiance is very chill and cozy, and the staff is always helpful, friendly, and accommodating. It is located in the Metropolis residential lobby with a few other restaurants. The food is very flavorful. My favorite dish is the Chicken Tikka Masala, but I decided to switch it up for the Chicken Sixty-five and the salmon bites with a side of garlic Naan. The only downside to the Chicken Sixty-five is that the dish can't be altered in spice level. I like my Indian food very spicy, and this dish is just tossed in a mild chili sauce. I would definitely circle back and get it again regardless. Blue India also validates your parking for two hours, so be sure to bring your ticket with you. read more

Blue India is the best Indian food around Georgia Tech! Every time I come here for dinner, there's never a long wait. The inside of the restaurant is dark but well lit enough. You can even see the kitchen and the making of the naan through a glass window! I highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala and the garlic naan. So I've only had Indian food a handful time at a place in Athens, but I've driven and walked past Blue India and finally decided to check it out today. We came right when it opened and was seated promptly. This is a large location with plenty of seating for large groups. We ordered the Punjabi samosas and the yuca with chilli oil for an appetizer. The samosas only came with two which was a downfall but they were perfectly crispy on the outside and well seasoned on the inside. Came out hot and fresh. The yuca was great for the table and definitely see myself ordering again. It wasn't super spicy so this is good for those who are skeptical against spice. We both ordered the lamb tika masala which came with rice and got a side of butter naan too. Honestly, I think we could've split one meal between the two of us. Blue India doesn't explicitly say it's family style eating but it kinda is. I ordered the medium but I wish I would've got the spice level up to add some umph to it. The tika masala was good, different than what I'm used to but still good nonetheless. The garlic naan was also fresh, warm, flaky and paired greatly with the meal. Had a great experience at blue India for dinner. Parking on the street was easy for a Sunday. I ordered an aperol spritz, garlic naan, tandoori chicken, and chicken tikka masala. I left the spice level at medium just to start off slow. But if you like spice like me try a level or two above that. You'll be able to handle it. Everything was delicious and filling. I also enjoyed watching the kitchen make naan through the glass window. It added to the deep blues and metallics with natural wood. Great for a date night. Especially because it's pretty small in there. A big party may be a hassle. The aroma is mixed spices and a little smoke from the sizzling plates. The staff, the food, the environment, the aromas, everything as a whole is amazing. As it was a group of us we decided to get a selection of items on the menu. With this approach everyone was able to eat off of everything and get a feel for the overall selection of Blue India. It's no secret that I am a lover of Naan bread and babeeeeeeeeeee. Even though all the food selections were amazing, the Garlic Naan bread STOLE THE SHOW for me!!! I'm talking warm, soft, buttery, crispy edges, and a garlic profile that was spot on. I absolutely LOVED my dinner at Blue India. I had the fish moilee, medium spice level and it was so so good. Flavorful and just the right amount of spice (but I couldn't have done any more). My husband had the lamb curry and that was good as well, although the portion was smaller than my dish. We also had an order of garlic naan which came with 4 pieces. If you were really hungry you may want your own order of naan. I would say service was adequate and the place itself is cute. Atmosphere/parking: they validate 2 hours of parking in the attached garage, just be sure to ask before you leave. Lots of seating and you can see through the window in the kitchen them making the naan! Recommend making a reservation, can get busy. Food/price: we liked that they have options on here that aren't typically seen at other places. A bit pricey for the portion size. Group of 7 shared: Masala Fries ($5): shoestring fries tossed in house spices serviced with house curry ranch and ketchup. Enjoyed the seasoning on the fries, pretty good portion size too for the price! The ranch was very tasty. Juhu Beach Bhel ($8): puffed rice, sev, onions, potatoes, cilantro, tamarind chutney. Served cold, the puffed rice reminds of the rice krispy rice but more airy. It was a refreshing and interesting. Saag Paneer ($17): spinach, cream, house spices, paneer; served with steamed basmati rice. We always order this any time we go to an Indian restaurant, can't really go wrong with this one! Lamb Vindaloo ($21); braised in red wine vinegar with Kashmiri chilis, lamb; served with steamed basmati rice. Surprisingly, we didn't enjoy this as much. We asked for this spicy, wasn't as spicy as we thought it would be - the sauce tasted almost ketchup-y, maybe from the acid of the vinegar. There were quite a few chunks of potato in there, it was almost half the dish so not as many lamb pieces as expected. Fish Moilee ($19): white fish in a Kerala-style fragrant coconut, coriander, and black pepper curry; served with rice. First time trying this and our group really liked it. Chole Bhature ($16); Punjabi style chickpeas, corn kernels, served with fluffy fried leavened bread. Also a winner amongst the group. The fluffy bread tasted almost like the Native American fry bread which I really love and paired really well with the chole. Saffron Butter Chicken ($19): cubed chicken thighs in a creamy-saffron butter sauce. We asked for this mild because we wanted one of the kids to be able to eat it. I think this would be better at a higher spice level because it is inherently sweet. Garlic Naan ($6): garlic and cilantro, comes with 6 cut pieces. We had to order another basket to share amongst the 6 of us, it was very good though so can't complain. TLDR: recommend garlic naan, fish moilee, saag paneer, chole bhature entrees! read more

I've been trying many different Indian restaurants the last couple years and stumbled on this location. The food was quite delicious and portions are large. I ate off it for about 3 days. I ordered Tiki Masala, Kochi Beef Curry, Chili Salmon Bites, cheddar Naan and a ginger beer! I was happy to see the ginger beer from Jamaica! All items were delicious, very savory and just traditional Indian spices. So far the restaurants I've tried all taste very similar however I thought this location would be a tad unique when I saw British Indian. Next I have to try Tabla in Buckhead. My favorite was of course the Tiki Masala however the Kochi Beef was so tasty as well! I will order again from here for sure and recommend you to try as well! read more

Nice place. I don't think Indian food is for me so I'm not going to comment on the flavors though I will say I asked for medium heat & everything was sweet, IDK. Here's the main point of my review tho. I ordered a margarita NO RIM. I know I said no rim. He brings it out with a rim, I let him know he says "so you want it in a new glass?" I say well it needs to be remade now bc the salt is in the drink. There's a big column that was blocking my view of the bar so I couldn't monitor what happened but when the drink came back it was still salty so the drink was not remade it was just shuffled to a new glass. we were not able to go to mother's day dinner at tabla as they were booked so we went here. For apps we got the chilli yuca, bhel, haryali chicken tikka, and paneer tikka. i highly recommend the chilli yuca (9/10) but wish it was crispier. the bhel was good nothing special very small portion (7.5/10). both haryali chicken and paneer tikka were ok (6.5/10) lacking salt and spice (a theme for tonight's dinner). for mains we got paneer biryani, saffron butter chicken, paneer tikka, saag paneer, and malai kofta. i would recommend getting the malai kofta, saag paneer, and saffron butter chicken. the saffron butter chicken and malai kofta was great in flavor but severely lacking in spice. the saag paneer again was lacking in spice but the depth of flavor was great - tho i prefer my saag to be chopped and not pureed. the paneer tikka would be good for white people - a mild flavor and no spice. the best thing next to the yuca would be the paneer biryani - again lacking spice but we loved the flavor. i was thrown off by the fact that for all the curries none of the servers asked for spice level. i would recommend asking for at least medium spicy otherwise your dishes will come out sweet. portions are also fairly small (especially apps) but tahts atlanta. i liked the ambiance, it was a cutely decorated place but a bit too busy for my taste. i would maybe go again if tabla was booked but i would really prefer tabla. read more

Recently relocated from New York & was looking for some authentic Indian Food. This is the place! I've dined in and ordered takeout since my initial visit. As soon as you walk in you smelllll the food! There was a little wait but he reservations luckily so we were seated almost immediately. Service was great, ordered pretty quickly and the food did not disappoint. The ambiance is causal vibe. The coolest part is a glass window near the clay oven so you can watch naan and paratha etc being prepared. What we ordered; Peshwari Naan 5/5 - Sweet, savory and baked to perfection. Came back solo and enjoyed it even more. I ordered the chicken biryani with a side of butter sauce that goes with the the butter chicken. That combo is a game changer!!!!!
