My wife and kids took me to Blue Grillhouse last evening to celebrate a milestone birthday, and it just couldn't be more perfect. We were very quickly seated in a comfortable area of the restaurant. Familiar tunes were lightly playing, never too loud or distracting. The layout is ideal in that there is plenty of space between seated parties. Our server, Tammy, came out to introduce herself and take our drink orders. Everything came out quickly and correctly. For starters, my wife ordered the lobster bisque an raved about it. I tried a bit myself, and found it thick and creamy, with plenty of lobster pieces within. It was a hit. We also got crab dip with pita bread and bacon-wrapped scallops, equally was amazing. I chose the ribeye with lump crab on the side for my entre, and my family was divided through NY Strip, Chicken, and Filet dinners. Each piece was cooked to requested temperature, served in appropriate timeline, and just wonderfully presented. For sides, we ordered french fries, mashed potatoes grilled mushrooms that were to die for, and asparagus. Everything was just over-the-top good. My family surprised me with a candle-topped Hula pie (two of them for the table, actually), and that was the best tasting dessert in recent memory. A must have to finish out your meal. I cannot recommend Blue enough to the steak lovers out there, and we will be back!! read more

I continue to come back often because certain items are great, but as I continue to explore there are too many items that are just ok. For this price you would want everything to be a hit. I tried their Sea Bass Soup - it was really mediocre, too much of just tomato soup with small chunks of fish My NY steak was tasty but incorrectly cooked. Ordered a medium rare and got a medium to medium/well looking steak. I stand by ordering the lobster bisque & bbq chicken flatbread for appetizers, steak options for your entree, and mashed potatoes for your sides (lobster mashed is not worth it - taste isn't much different and you're almost paying double). read more

Lunch a few weeks ago was good. Our server didn't come back for beverage reorders. Appreciate the opportunity to comment.

The shine is wearing off of this restaurant/bar that has been a go to for years. This past weekend I ordered my go to meal of a chopped salad and a piece of grilled salmon. The piece of salmon was half the size it used to be and the salad was a huge pile of lettuce. Only lettuce. With a couple of grape tomatoes tossed on the plate. The side and at least a nicely cooked egg. Then it was topped with those canned crispy onions. What?? They overpowered the flavor. The salmon was cooked nicely if a bit over salted. Our server told us about the specials so fast we could barely catch what he was saying. Didn't bother to ask him to repeat. When he was taking out order he stood slumped against the wall. Also didn't bother to mention his pen was not working when the first person gave her order so she had to repeat it. She ordered a salad to be brought first and was the only one. She had barely started it when a young girl came over and asked her if she wanted a box for her salad. Poor thing was very confused. The two gentlemen in our party confirmed the burgers they ordered were as good as usual and the fries were as well. The lady said the tuna tartare was excellent as well. Dessert of a nice size piece of chocolate mousse cake with ice cream was more than enough to share and was delicious. The ambiance hasn't changed. It is still a lovely atmosphere. It was very crowded so of course it was a bit loud but that seems to be the way dining is anymore. I give it three stars for my experience only. read more

I ordered the chopped salad with the salmon. Every time I come here the salmon gets smaller and smaller. The salmon was a half inch thick and maybe 2 in by 2 in. I could buy that at ShopRite for a $1.50. very disappointed when they're charging me another $8 for that small piece of salmon on a salad! Ridiculous read more

Here for a business meeting and was not disappointed. We started with the Ahi Tuna, the Crab Dip, and the Boneless Chicken Wings. All was fantastic and right-sized for sharing. The Manhattans were spot on (with a Luxardo cherry added). The filets were tender and flavorful. The sea bass was well liked but the real winner was the Rack of Lamb. It was so good that we ordered a second plate to share for dessert! We ate in the dark wooded dining room which was appropriate for our meeting, but I sensed a lively vibe coming from the patio crowd and more of a locals-only feel in the bar. Not uninviting but they all seemed to be regulars. Maria was our server and she was very engaging and knowledgeable about the menu, the sister restaurants and the wine list. Parking seemed pretty full when we arrived but the lot was large and we lucked into a front row spot. read more

We have been going to Blue for numerous years mostly for Sunday Brunch. We know the chef and many of the managers Today's breakfast was the worst ever The waitress had no clue what she was doing The manager tried his best to accommodate us but also to no avail When he saw the numerous problems with the order that was brought out totally incorrect and since we are good customers he should have said breakfast is on us for several problems But he said next time you come back we will do better. No need to discuss the breakfast problems but a fine restaurant like Blue it is unacceptable to have such ridiculous problems just for a breakfast of eggs. The waitress messed up but the manager didn't handle the situation correctly not for frequent customers like my girlfriend and I. But. Yes we will be back. This doesn't usually ever happen. Just a not fun time going here especially when we chose this restaurant of so many other choices to eat. read more

Restaurant is clean and has great ambiance. We arrived asked for a table for two @3pm and hostess walked around like she looking for a table like there were none available, I presume it was a manager who stated to "just put them in a booth". We ordered off a very limited menu. Appetizers: Bacon wrapped scallops and a fried eggplant flatbread. Although good scallops could've been cooked a little more and bacon was very well done. Flat bread was amazing. We ordered a Lobster Roll and French dip. Couldn't taste the lobster at all it was lobster salad with ingredients overwhelming the lobster. French dip was very good. Everything is à la carte so I chose the upgraded Lobster Bisque that my husband swore tasted more like cheese than bisque. Our server Justin was polite courteous and timely. Might return for dinner like in the past but probably never again for lunch. read more

Service was ok. Had bacon wrapped scallops, 10 oz filet, béarnaise sauce, and Asiago crab mac and cheese. The steak was cooked perfectly but lacked flavor. The béarnaise was good but a bit too much lemon. The bacon wrapped scallops with some sweet sauce, were less than anticipated. The scallops were overpowered by the sauce. The mac and cheese had quite a bit of crab meat, but the crab was totally lost in the dish. The bread prior to dinner was fresh and warm. Altogether a less than the fine dinning and price experience. A pizza joint would have been more enjoyable. Not to be repeated. read more

Delicious food, great service. We were accommodated with a high chair for my toddler and sling for my infant car seat. While there is no kids' menu, the chicken parmigiana flatbread appetizer made for a great dinner for my toddler. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Lobster tail special was delicious. Waitstaff- both our waiter and others- were very friendly. The ambiance is very nice with music at the perfect volume to hear your table but not surrounding patrons. Dress is business casual. read more

Very pricey, but that's not the reason for the one star review; they do not cater to their patrons. Asked for baked potato with no salt on skin because of heart condition and the waitress said the chef would not accommodate us because that's the way they make baked potatoes. Had to settle for something a lot less appealing. When spending $800 cash for a family gathering of seven, I would think Blues chef can accommodate it's patron with a no salt potato by washing the salt off. It's not hard to do when you open a water spigot!!! read more

Always a great time and meal at Blue! Simply cannot go wrong w/ the Porterhouse steak, a side order of crab stuffed lobster tail, lobster mashed potatoes and some delicious asparagus drizzled with hollandaise sauce. Oh and don't forget to pair it with a wonderful full bodied Cabernet!! The service is always spot on - attentive but not intrusive - but the place is always crowded so plan ahead! Oh and it's a nice place - so dress up a little people. Just a collared shirt would go a long way please! Enjoy! read more

We just had my daughter's Sweet 16 at The Blue Grillhouse and it was amazing! April, the event coordinator, was a pleasure to work with and was very responsive and attentive. Having April and the Blue team in charge gave us all a great sense of confidence. Our guests are still raving about the cuisine, the friendly wait staff, the delicious appetizers and stations. With skilled bartenders and short wait times, the bar operated efficiently. The ballroom was quite lovely and could accommodate our large group. We enjoyed a great dancing party with a large enough dance floor for everyone! I could go endlessly about how wonderful our time at Blue was. I am very grateful to April, for making this such a beautiful and thrilling experience from beginning to end. read more

Super popular. Almost no parking left in a large lot. Reservations are a great idea. The food is high quality but the lobster bisque was almost room temperature, and the steak and sides were salty to the point that you could chew salt crystals in every bite. We got a free slice of ice cream cake for my birthday. If I go back, I may try to see if I can ask for less salt. read more

Our go to for amazing food! Our family frequents this restaurant often! Strong recommend!

The nicest restaurant I visited in the Bethlehem/Easton area. Beautiful building with a large outdoor bar and patio, where I ended up sitting. Great service and really good food (I had the sea bass). Even splurged for the ice cream cake, which was huge, but delicious. Highly recommend this place and will go back if I'm ever in the area again. read more

My fiancé made reservations at Blue to celebrate my 25th birthday. The atmosphere of the grillhouse is upscale and romantic. Anthony was our waiter and gave us incredible service. He was super knowledgeable about the menu and had a fantastic attitude. As for the food, we ordered apps and entrees. We shared the bacon wrapped scallops and the stuffed oysters. Both were amazing, but the oysters had the edge and I would highly recommend them. You also get house bread and whipped butter at your table. Entrees: My fiancé ordered a filet mignon with a side of yukon gold potatoes. I ordered the Duck Two Ways. My fiancé said his meal was delicious, and I have to agree that mine was too! As a nice birthday surprise, the restaurant gave us a HUGE scrumptious piece of complimentary ice cream cake, crusted with cookie and topped with fudge and fresh whipped mascarpone cream. I loved my experience & food here and will return! read more

Sides were great! Service at the table was great. My $51 steak had chewy gristle that should have been cut away, and was served warm, not hot. My $13 mango martini was really just mango juice. If there was any vodka in there it would surprise me. My wife's dry martini was served dirty. The front desk took 15 minutes to seat us in a half empty restaurant with a reservation. I've had better meals for a 1/3 of this price. read more

Our family recently held a birthday party for 12 and repast luncheon for 40 at Blue Grillhouse. The food, service, and ambience were excellent. We got lots of compliments on the steak frittes and sofrito salmon dishes as well as the salads. Cocktails were well chilled and mixed.Desserts were generous and delicious. I would definitely add that planning these milestone events was extremely easy and professional with prompt communication and all details addressed. Guests appreciated the ample parking and our grandsons enjoyed the outdoor koi pond. Do hesitate to book the Blue Grillhouse! read more

Blue has slipped the last 2 times we went. I gave them the benefit of the doubt last time, maybe an off day. 3 of us went last Saturday and while my son's filet was very good, my ribeye and my wife's lamb were less than average. Steak had way too much fat, again. Lamb was tough. The crab mac n cheese very good as always. Just not living up to the cost. I must say the service provided was outstanding. read more

Paid close to $300 for a very mediocre meal, but my disappointment was on birthday request not following through. When making the reservation on Opentable, we specifically mentioned birthday and ordered dessert-crème brûlée and requested a birthday candle which wasn't not followed through. When we asked the server for a candle, he came out with a table candle... we weren't trying to be difficult but it was not what we were expecting. As for the food, everything came out so slow. We ordered the French onion soup, which came out lukewarm (cheese was already solid), lobster bisque was tasty but salty. No issues on beef short rib en croute. For our main course, ordered 2 medium-cooked NY strip steak which came out close to well done. BBQ chicken was alright, and 2-way duck was dry. Overall, server was friendly and accommodating - enjoyed the wine sampling; but food is not up to par. read more

This was a nice place to have a good meal at. I ordered the 6 oz filet and it was very tender. My husband ordered the 16oz ribeye and he said it wasn't a very good quality of meat and he was a bit frustrated because the steak knives were not sharp enough to cut the meat. The restaurant reminded me of a Ruth Chris steak house. Everything is al la carte. We tried the mash potatoes, asparagus and garlic mushrooms. Watch out for the mushrooms, if you do not like Garlic then these will not be for you. Super strong, too strong for me. Only down side I personally had is the restaurant wasn't that crowded at 630 for our dinner reservations for four people. We were seated next to the entrance door of one of the areas. Which I hate, so you had me seated with back to the door and our other guest was seated almost in the entrance where the servers and other customers walk in. No reason why we couldn't sit in another comfortable seat. We spent $430 on dinner for 4 so you would think they would not put someone in one of the worst seating areas. I will say our waitress was very pleasant, it was a little slow at the beginning but she started to move a bit quickly after she got caught up. read more

I ordered curb side pick up from this restaurant on a Friday night. We ordered the French onion soup, Smoked Babyback Ribs, and Grilled 4 oz filet mignon with bruschetta. French onion soup - 3.8/5 definitely a little too salty once you get to the bottom of the soup but tasted good for the most part. It comes with a layer of cheese on top. Smoked babyback ribs - 4/5 The order came with coleslaw & fries. It was cooked really tender and came off the bone easily! Grilled 4 oz Filet Mignon - 5/5 Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and came with tomato bruschetta. They cut the steak in pieces. There was a balsamic vinaigrette on top as well. Although this was an appetizer, I was full off of it & would come here to order it again! My only problem with this place is that it took 50 minutes for our food to be ready, when they had originally told us 20 minutes. We were starving and rushing to get there. After 25 minutes passed, we called them and nobody gave us an estimate on when the order would be done. It was very frustrating to have to keep asking for updates and the restaurant definitely needs to work on this. read more

I was in town for a business trip. Standard restaurants are usually steakhouses. FRIED CALAMARI is lovely to share. I eat very little so I opted for the FILET MIGNON 6 OZ. Pairs very well with the horseradish or the herb butter. For dessert go for the ALMOND BUTTER CAKE. ENJOY! read more

We came here tonight and were nicely surprised, although the restaurant really could have done better with COVID-19 regulations, so I'm knocking off at least one star. We got the Caesar salad, calamari, duck entree, and crab mac and cheese. For dessert, the hula ice cream cake slice. Everything was very, very good. The only big problem I had was: 1) Some tables were NOT socially distanced, and diners were less about four feet next to one another. This was very uncomfortable and unbelievable to see, especially when the virus is peaking. 2) They used menus that were a little dirty when a lot of restaurants are utilizing smartphone menus now 3) They did not take our temperature or offer and hand sanitation anywhere except the bathrooms. read more

Prep: Reservation is advisable for evenings. Especially Wed-Sat. Arrival: Big lot. Impressive curb appeal. Entry: greeting and seating suggests the fine dining establishment Blue is. Service: polite, continuous and attention paid to details. Food: I had an eight oz Filet minion. My wife the sirloin. We had several table sides. The meal was impressive. So was the bill. So be advised drinks, dinner, desert and tip can set you back over $300. For fine dining in the Bethlehem area Blue is likely one of the very best. Mind you, though it's a chain I prefer Ruth Chris for being almost as good (while Blue has a slight edge on the steak I actually prefer Ruth Chris' side dishes - especially the lyonnaise potatoes and creamed spinach). On the short: Good parking. Great ambience. Very good food. Excellent service. Very, very, expensive. read more

Happy hour is a great value with nice atmosphere. The regular menu is good but WAY TOO EXPENSIVE and everything is ALA CARTE. Be prepared to spend $150 on dinner for 2 even without alcohol. That too rich for my blood. Another example off a good restaurant that got to big for its britches and caters to the elite only. read more

Was there for my birthday. Service was good but drinks tasted like juice -no alcohol. My steak was so salty it burned my mouth and my boyfriend's steak was not cooked correctly. Let me begin with saying GABBY is one hell of a server. She's the whole package. Cannot tell you enough how exceptional this establishment is. From the moment you walk in you are met with a feeling of warmth. She is so PASSIONATE about her work and it definitely shows. Great drinks and food is top notch. I really enjoy the crab Mac and cheese. It was so juicy and just melted away in your mouth with every bite. There's something about the recipe that just takes you away to a special place every time you take a bite. The seating is off the charts!!! WHAT AN INCREDIBLE RESTAURANT I LOVE IT HERE. read more

We have always loved Blue Grillhouse and all of the PAXOS establishments and visit all frequently, HOWEVER last night at BLUE GRILLHOUSE what a disappointment from my Old Fashion cocktail which had NO cherry and NO orange peel to our Duck Breast which (as someone who has been in the business) we could tell sat under the hot light too long. 42$ duck dinner was cold and dry. The plate was warm the duck was not. The lamb chops which are another favorite were served before they had time to sit which in turn causes the blood to puddle on the plate and the mash potatoes were like a cold rock. The steak frites dinner was killed, overcooked, dead and the sea bass was awful fishy for sea bass known for its mild white flakey meat. We wondered if the staff was preoccupied, was their "B" team or what was going on. We are somewhat particular foodies which is why the Paxo brand restaurants, Savory Grill and Ocean are our go to spots in the Lehigh Valley. We were to sadly say disappointed. We understand the business and a bad night however there were so many things at one table to even bother the waiter. read more

Well, it has been just over a year since my last visit to Blue. In my prior review, I said I would be back to see if my fair experience was typical or if the other reviews were more accurate. There were three of us. The service was good; the food was great. This time, I ordered their grilled fish sandwich. While I'm not sure what type of fish it was, I'm guessing Halibut or something similar. It was served on a bun with lettuce, tomato, and aioli. I also ordered (as I did before) crisp french fries. In my last visit, the medium burger and crisp fries had been reversed. This time, everything was perfect. I capped off the meal with an espresso. It was served in a demitasse with lemon zest. It was quite good. So, my prior review has been upgraded to be more in line with the other's that Blue typically gets. I'm happy I was able to see their real stuff. read more
