Based on yelp reviews I thought this place was going to be a gem, I was wrong Pros: customer service is great. Mom & pop shop. Busy during lunch; however when I ordered to go, I received my food fast. Large portions. Boba tea was good Cons: springs are my fav and all these had were noodles, lettuce and 2 shrimp. Bland, peanut sauce bland too. Beef chow mein was covered in a thick over power sauce. It was okay. 2 stars to offset the great reviews on effort to not have everyone excited about the food. Didn't really expect to find a pho place in Tehachapi, but once I did, I had to try it. There was a pretty long wait between being seating and having my order taken, but seeing as there was only two people working and he was apologetic for the wait, it's all good. The pho was good, just how good pho typically tastes. The coffee however, was amazing. I got the french coffee with condensed milk. I was a bit surprised it came ready to drink and not in the little brewing cups as they usually do, but it was amaaaaaaaazing. One more thing - the bathroom was also amazing. I don't know if that's how all restaurant bathrooms in Tehachapi are like or what, but it was super nice and super clean. I swear I would've taken a nap in there. There are only 2 requirements for Blue Ginger Pho: a good appetite and stretchy pants. Because yes, you'll need the stretchy pants. My husband and I absolutely LOVE this place! You just can't imagine that there would be such a great ethnic restaurant in Tehachapi, Ca....well there is! This unassuming little Vietnamese restaurant in an ugly little stripmall has some of the best Pho outside of Asia. As I have given it an few more opportunities I do enjoy their pho and will come again. Mostly because I don't have another choice for a local pho restaurant. Hopefully from here they continue their at least decent quality food and improve customer service a little. read more

Great Pho. I had the steak pho. Top notch. They are very accommodating for large groups. Even let us BYO. I don't care for spring rolls but for what it's worth they were just fine. I'd eat here any day I'd the week. Even weekends. read more

I'm really glad there is a pho place in Tehachapi! The food is delicious :) and the egg-rolls and spring rolls are some of the best I've had! The Vermicelli is also very good, though the noodles are warm, which is new to me (usually all the places where I have eaten, the Vermicelli was served with cold noodles) I just realized that they have boba there as well, but I do have to say the boba is really soggy - probably because not enough people buy it, so it soaks all day. But it's still good! Everyone should definitely eat here at least once! read more

I didn't have any idea what to expect on my first visit. I ordered the Spring Rolls because they fit my allergy restrictions. I sampled the Lemongrass Chicken WIngs and some other things my friends had ordered. I enjoyed everything. Several months later, a friend from the Bay Area visited, talked us through some of the menu choices, and proclaimed the entire experience worthy (as compared to his favorite Pho shops in SF). I have taken others there as well and everyone has been pleased. Yesterday we tried to have lunch there and they were closed for New Year's. Blue Ginger Pho was my first and current favorite pho place. It's definitely the best restaurant in the Tehachapi area. I don't really understand why it's not packed everyday. The pho is delicious and the service is great! The owner is so nice and he remembers his customers. After I left for a job in NorCal I became Vegetarian and I was worried I wouldn't be able to really eat anything there but I was pleasantly surprised that they had a more than accommodating vegetarian menu. The tofu stir-fry with vermicelli was awesome and the owner was nice enough to give me their amazing peanut sauce to go with it when I asked for it(free of charge, mind you). Super delicious food and great service. Their vegetarian fried rice with tofu tastes so good, I could eat it at every meal. Their vegetarian noodle soup is amazing. Super fresh veggies and broth you just wanna suck up in a straw! Someone in our party had the curry chicken and was MORE than happy with it. We'll most certainly be coming back to eat here. So I came just to get boba. I asked for the mango Boba drink. I misunderstood what the lady said. The mango drink was super sweet and weird and the boba was frozen and she microwaved and then put it in. 10 minutes later my boba was rock hard and the drink had separated. I feel I wasted $5. So I'm back in Tehachapi again. Didn't feel like burgers anymore. So.. what to try? I decided to drop by the only Vietnamese restaurant here. Plus the other Asian places didn't seem to great. I had the house special- flank beef stir fry I think. The portion was skimpy, but taste pretty decent. However, the price was higher than most Vietnamese restaurants that I've been to. Although I can understand; the restaurant is in a small town. They have to make up for the foot traffic. You can expect slightly higher prices for the pho as well. Last night I checked Yelp for restaurants in Tehachapi and we found this place. It was delicious. When we walked in two employees greeted us and told us to have a seat. We sat down and immediately gave us menus. We knew what we wanted to try. Hubby got the pho and I got the spring rolls without the pork. We got our food right away. Pho was great but little chicken. Spring rolls with peanut sauce was delicious but the peanut sauce was a little watery but still good. Coconut boba drink was very good. I give it 4 stars because the pho had a few chicken pieces in the soup. I will for sure come back again to eat at this restaurant. Next time I want to try the fried rice. Very friendly people working here. I recommend this place. read more

I was excited to try this place while driving through Tehachapi. I was drawn in by the promise of delicious Vietnamese food and low prices. Prices were around $8 per plate. Based on the reviews, I was expecting to thoroughly enjoy my food, but that was not the case. I had the chicken curry, which was okay, but a little unusual. The chicken was cut so thin that I was suspicious it was actually lunch meat. My husband had the beef chow mein. He said the vegetables tasted strange and only ended up eating the noodles. The service was great - both of the men who served us were quick and helpful. But if we're ever in the area again we'll probably go somewhere else. read more

I came here because I saw Yelps 4 star average but my experience was rather disappointing. I walked in and was quickly pointed towards a table. I sat down and looked at the menu, I was surprised at how low their prices are. I ordered their beef pho, spring rolls and Thai tea. I always ask for half the normal amount of noodles, I tend to enjoy the broth much more than the noodles. My food arrived within a reasonable time frame. I immediately noticed the mountain of noodles and very little broth. It looked like a noodle plate not soup. The broth fwas bland and the beef tasted ok. Also, they don't carry fish sauce or hot oil, how strange, those two are a must for pho restaurants. The Thai tea and spring rolls were decent, the peanut sauce was runny instead of thick like it's supposed to be. Customer service was almost non-existent. My family and i moved from san francisco (lived there 10+ years) to cal city recently so i have had my share of places to get Pho from high end places to hole in the walls. I recently found this Gem off yelp and OH MY LANTA i am so glad i did because this was the best Pho ive had in YEARS!!! Definitely coming back as often as i can. read more

So I saw all the 4 to 5 stars on this place so I wanted to try it. Yelp says this closes at 9pm. I walk in at 7: 40pm and waited for someone to say something to me and greet me. 8 mins pass and a family is eating in the store and the guy at the front counter says " the kitchen is closed already." And waits for me to leave. It's 7:48pm and you close at 9pm. Bad business. Never coming back. read more

This place is fabulous!!! The Pho is sooo good!! We just found our new favorite restaurant! The brisket Pho was excellent, as was the chicken. The chicken and vegetable chow mein was great, too. Our boys could not stop raving about how good it tasted, and they are very picky eaters! The customer service was exceptional, and the portions are incredibly generous. Stopped by this restaurant on the way back from Vegas based on reviews on yelp. I ordered a small pho dac biet and a Vietnamese iced coffee. As per usual, the iced coffee was amazing. For the pho, the broth was really good. However, the noodles were just a bit undercooked for me, and the amount of meat I had wasn't that much. Wow! Tehachapi, CA is really chock full of some good restaurants - Blue Ginger Pho being one of them. I got the rare steak pho and it was delicious! All the trimmings: jalapeno, large sprouts, coriander, basil, limes, sirachi, hoison sauce. Delicious. I was never really a fan of Asian style food ever before eating here, and I have to say that they make the best Vietnamese food I have ever had. The place is very simple, but elegant as well for a tiny little restaurant. The food is a bit pricey, but for two people and with simple dishes it's not so bad at all. My boyfriend will usually grab one of their soups which are huge and very cheap for as much as they give you and a plate of spring rolls, and I will typically grab a soup as well or a plate of fried rice which is my favorite. The spring rolls are the first to actually taste decent to me and maybe it's because my New York origin doesn't serve good Asian dishes at all haha. Recommended for a night out or quick and delicious meal! read more

The restaurant is quiet and clean. They give you huge portions of everything, it is served quickly and is pretty good. We have enjoyed the pho several times as well as fried rice, crispy chicken and seafood. My only complaint is that the lady at the register is a bit snarky...she could be friendlier and smile once in a while. read more
