An oasis in the middle of Mojave desert. This is the perfect spot to hit up when returning to SoCal from a weekend in Tahoe or Mammoth. I ordered the pad see ew and orange chicken. Both dishes were yummy and offered the perfect fix during a nine hour drive. As a heads up, they have a decent number of rules for travelers. Their bathrooms are locked and the code is available through printed receipt. I'd recommend checking this spot out, especially since there isn't much else in the area. read more

We were driving back from a weekend camping trip in the Sierras and were craving a hearty meal after being off the grid for several days. We decided to stop here and ordered the combination Pad Thai, and I'm so glad we did! It was absolutely delicious and I highly recommend it. The sweet and sour chicken was also amazing -- I loved that the chicken wasn't breaded, and the flavor was spot on. The only dish that missed the mark for me was the spring rolls. The peanut sauce was very sweet and had a gelatinous texture that I didn't enjoy, so I probably wouldn't order those again. That said, two out of the three dishes we ordered were fantastic! The two ladies working were wonderful as well -- they were attentive, friendly, and consistently checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. One thing to note: they don't have fountain drinks. If you order a soda, they bring you a cup of ice with a canned soda. This may not bother everyone, but I personally prefer a fountain Coca-Cola with that extra carbonation. Not a dealbreaker, just something to be aware of. Overall, a great experience with delicious food and excellent service! read more

We stopped by this place for lunch before, and the food was good. Today we came in because my daughter wanted the Thai iced tea . The menu listed the drink at $4.95, but we were charged $5.95. I didn't notice until after we had already paid. When I asked about the difference while picking up the drinks, the waitress told us the menu price hadn't been updated. It's not about the $1 difference--I would have been completely fine paying whatever the correct price is. The issue is that we weren't informed upfront. If the prices have changed, they should let customers know before charging them, rather than after the fact. Overall, the experience left a disappointing impression, despite our previous positive visit. read more

Loved their chicken pad thai I got it with medium spice which definitely made the plate so yummy. The servers were so nice and accommodating for our big group. The inside was clean and very spacious. Everyone at our table ate all our food! Great place to stop if you're charging the Tesla on a roadtrip! read more

We found Mojave Thai while traveling, and what a hidden gem! It's conveniently located next to a Tesla Supercharger, making it an easy stop along the route. The food is genuinely authentic, and the Pad See Ew was one of the best we've ever had. The noodles had those delicious charred wok marks that added so much flavor. Highly recommend this place, and we'll definitely make a point to stop here every time we travel this route. read more

NEVER COME HERE. SCANDALOUS. Had thought this place was incredible until they changed ownership a few months ago. They are scandalous with up-charging without you knowing. We go twice in the same week, get sides of hoisin for our pho as expected and arent charged anything the first visit and the second visit we are charged $1 a side when we had ordered four. They should have let us know prior that there was a charge per sauce. On top of it, we go tonight for a pick up order and they completely tried to finesse more money by charging us for a large thai fried rice no meat for $16 instead of a large egg fried rice in which we asked for priced at $5. We also had ordered two beef phos, one spicy, and they only gave us one yet our order came out to almost $50. They are purposely charging people more! Food is less quality and service is awful, they have zero accountability for their mess ups and up charging. I REPEAT, DONT COME HERE read more

Decent Thai in the middle of nowhere or Mojave. We ordered the drunken noodle with beef, Tom yum with seafood and yellow curry with beef. They were all decent. The Tom yum had a lot of seafood especially fish so it was nice to get a lot for what you pay for. Overall each dish was flavorful. The staff was a bit slow mainly because there seemed to be only person working all the tables and doing cashier, so orders, drinks and food comes out a lot slower than if they have maybe one more person to help. The waitress was super nice and got what we needed despite having to attend to so many customers. Place is old and dated but that comes with the territory of what I assume Mojave is gonna offer lol. read more

Some amazing thai food in the middle of nowhere. Large and comfortable restaurant but short staffed :( The two ladies working that day were super sweet and working very hard to serve 4 tables at once. Mojave Combination had a unique variety of fried appetizers with a delicious sweet and sour sauce (9/10) Thai Pork sausage fried rice was phenomenal. The sweet barbecue pork reminded me of the sweet chinese sausage. It was super addicting paired with the rest of the rice and I like to think of them like the marshmallows that compliment lucky charms cereal (10/10) Pad Thai I think would have gone better with the pork instead of the chicken we got it with. Very strong basil flavor which tasted almost garden harvested and a good spice. They put a lot of onions which I liked but my friends didn't think so. I think this dish could have been better with a bit more color like using a dark soy sauce instead of regular to stain the rice noodles a bit darker. Usually pad thai has a darker color and I think it would have been more appetizing. They say the eyes always eat first! (7/10) Green Thai Curry: Good spice even at the mild spice and very flavorful. I wish it was a bit more viscous so it could be drizzled on rice better but it was very watery. Great portions of meat and veggies in there though (8/10) Mango Sticky Rice: Interesting because the rice came out hot and the mango was room temp. I'm usually used to having this as a cold dish but maybe it was just made fresh. HUGE chunks of mango which I liked and I wish there was more rice to get the proportions right. Delicious sweet milk sauce (8/10) read more

This place is awesome, very good pad thai and green curry with reasonable prices. We're very happy with their service and food. I ordered mine to go, and they provide utensils like plates/bowls and spoon/forks (only) if you ask for it. They have restroom inside and a lot of parking outside with tesla superchargers, too. The ambiance is nice and comfortable. I definitely recommend this place. :) P.S. I forgot to take photos coz we were so hungry, lol. read more

We love us some good Thai food and this place delivers. I enjoy their pumpkin curry, I get it medium heat and it's perfect. My son loves their yellow curry, also medium heat. Our favorite way to start the meal is with their Crab Ragounts (I know I spelled that wrong) And we love their Thai tea to enjoy with our lunch.. their mango and sticky rice is the chefs kiss to end the meal.... Sadly, the last time when we went it had raised in price...but still worth it. The service is always top-notch, the mark of a great server is that they recognize you when you come a second time...she not only recognized us, she remembered our drink order. We have always enjoyed our time here and love to share with our family and friends this little jewel stuck way out in the desert... read more

An absolute gem of a Thai place. We arrived during an afternoon rush- it was quite busy. There was one lady who was doing everything, she was super patient and kind to the customers. She was juggling taking orders, taking out food, clearing a table and talking with the chefs in the back. Their crispy shrimp appetizer was so delicious, it tasted homemade (not like anything pre packaged.) Their drunken noodle had a great kick to it and the pineapple fried rice was flavorful. I'd definitely come back! read more

Went here for a work lunch and a nice place for a casual work conversation before traveling back to LA. Our server was informative "this is a Thai place so food is hot". 12/15/2025: So excited to be passing through town "not on a Saturday" because that means we can stop at Mojave Thai for dinner! They're like a trip to LA's Thai Town in East Hollywood without all of the traffic or parking craziness. For dinner tonight, we decided to try their #52 Basil Krapow over Jasmine Rice with Fried Egg on top. I've learned from a few places that restaurants often hold back a little on the amount of basil used since it can be polarizing for the unfamiliar. I asked them to please be heavy handed with the basil because honestly, that flavor makes the dish so special! I also ordered with ground pork instead of the default ground chicken because that's how I've been told they do it back home in Thailand. I'm not arguing with centuries of tradition! It was delicious. I chopped up the egg, drizzled some of the Prik Nam Pla sauce (request, it's not on the tables) and used two spoons to mix it well. I really gave it a good toss so the rice and toppings can meld together! It is delicious! Make sure to order the dish at your desired spice tolerance and if you're sharing with a non-heat seeker, the Prik Nam Pla can also be added on your own plate for a little extra kick! It's fish sauce based, but don't let that throw you. It is SO tasty! We also ordered the #40 Drunken Noodle and opted for the Combination Seafood as our protein. Bouncy, wide egg noodles with a light yet flavorful sauce and plenty of seafood and veggies to round out the dish. It's not drowning like a drunk uncle.. and a little drizzle of the Prik Nam Pla elevates the flavor! But still delicious as-is. Hubby was sneaky and got an order of their red bean filled mochi sesame balls for the drive home. Oh my gosh - this is one of the few places that actually cooks them until they're golden and the sesame seeds are crisp! Made fresh to order, I could have devoured a sack of them. They will be on repeat! If you're driving through Mojave or any place nearby, make it a point to stop at Mojave Thai. Just remember, they're closed on Saturdays so plan your trip wisely! They have ample Tesla charging stations in the parking lot for those who need to plug in while they nosh. I'm ready to go back! read more

I was on a road trip and stopped by this place for food and restroom. I paid my food first before needing to urgently use the restroom. I was going to tip after I came back. Thai lady said in Thai "so much money and can't tip" because she saw my cash in my wallet (lots of dollar bills). She didn't know I was Lao so I understood. Anyway, they got my order wrong and the appetizers were undercooked. Rude and could've gotten good tip without that comment. read more

I liked it. A nice surprise. Didn't expect to find a good Thai spot in the middle of the desert. Came in on the way back from Mammoth. Inside was simple and spacious with plenty of seating. My friend and I were pretty hungry so we got the chicken wings, panang curry, and Thai sausage fried rice. It was all good. Really liked the fried rice and chicken wings. We asked for medium heat on the wings and curry but it was more mild for my taste. So might have to take it up a notch next time. Would definitely come back to try more. Service was good. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking in the front lot and there's also some electric car chargers. read more

Very disappointing experience. We sat at our table for over 10 minutes and no one even brought us water or acknowledged us. The service was slow and inattentive from the beginning. To make matters worse, they automatically charged a 20% service fee despite providing very poor service. No the menus said 18% service fee. But they charged 20%. I don't mind tipping for good service, but it shouldn't be expected when there was barely any service at all. The bill came to $103.86 with the 20% tip included. I gave $100 and she come outside asked about the remaining $4, and instead of handling it professionally, she said she would call the police if we didn't pay it. She also said we were causing trouble. I gave him the $4 but She doesn't even deserve for $1. Unfortunately, the food wasn't good either, so the overall experience was not worth the price. I won't be coming back. read more

Whoah! A legit Thai restaurant in the most unexpected place. Just stopped to use the Tesla Supercharger and saw Mojave Thai in the lot. Yes the neighborhood may seem sketchy but the restaurant is clean, quiet and the owner/operator and server are extremely accommodating and warm. The food is where the magic is. Amazing and authentic tasting Tom Yum, the entrees in general are delicious and the desserts (fried banana and mango sticky rice) are an added plus. Don't sleep on this joint. Whether you're flying into Mojave for a visit, travel to & from along state route 14 or working on one of the dozens of projects in the area I absolutely recommend you visiting Mojave Thai Cuisine. It will not disappoint! I always forget to take a picture of our meals when we're there but take my word that the chicken yellow curry, chicken fried wonton's and egg fried rice are SPECTACULAR,,,, yes that's my favorite. Stopped over in MOJAVE for the night and couldn't resist trying this spot. I've had the fortune of traveling to Thailand & eating some very good food. This place really surprised me,in a great way. I got the PaKrapow with minced chicken and fried egg, spicy and it was perfect. I wasn't even that hungry, also the portion was big,but as soon as I sampled it I had to eat the whole plate. I always stop by Mojave Thai for a quick bite en route to Vegas while charging and have been a loyal patron for 6 years. Even though it's a dive, but the food quality has always been good. I picked up a pineapple fried rice for $17.31 to go today, my typical fare. The first surprise is that the restaurant now shrinks the portion by 50%. For an entree there are 2 shrimps in the entire order. The rice isn't fully cooked. It's under-seasoned and missing tomatoes. It looks like the staffs are new and the chefs have changed, and it is cutting down on both the portion and the ingredients to control cost. It's lost that authentic taste I remember, its sole redeeming quality. Writing it off the list now. Sayonara ~ read more

This Thai Restaurant in the middle of the Mojave desert feels random, but it is conveniently located next to a Tesla Supercharger and serves as a great roadtrip lunch spot when driving between Los Angeles and Mammoth. The interior feels like a hole-in-the-wall with cool views of the desert and mountains, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. I placed an order of drunken noodles and Thai iced tea to go and both were fresh and delicious by all U.S. Thai restaurant standards, not just middle-of-nowhere standards. Really impressed with the quality and authenticity. Service was also excellent. My server was really genuine person with a lovely attitude. The place is huge, clean, bright and inviting. Very comfortable. Love it. I had drunken noodles and the flavor was delicious and not too sweet. I also tried their sticky rice and mango which was the best I ever tasted. The Tom Ga Kai Soup was authentic and included Galangal which some other local places have been leaving out lately. I tried their spring rolls with shrimp, that appeared generous, but was lacking in shrimp. I couldn't taste anything but lettuce so I pulled it all out. The Lettuce was, however, very very fresh so I took it home. The dipping sauce I was not keen about as I prefer a fish sauce with sweet chilli or something which they could not accommodate. . They were impressive looking and very fresh, but lacking flavor. Looking forward to coming back here again. read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Surprisingly good food and service in the desert. I'd seen this place plenty of times on my way to/from Mammoth but never had a chance to stop until recently. It was midday Tuesday when I came by and it wasn't busy at all. It was pretty spacious, but the furniture and decor were worn--not an impressive ambiance. I didn't have huge expectations, but their green curry, pad see ew, and thai iced coffee all turned out to be great, and their portions were generous for the price--we got a lot of mileage out of the leftovers. Everything we have tried is some of the best Thai cuisine we have tried anywhere. Pad Thai, red curry, Penang curry, massamun curry, drunken noodles, and Tom Yum soup. It's all excellent.
