What a nice little cafe just off Westminster Highway industrial area. The soups and sandwiches never disappoint here the chicken curry soup is my favorite so far and the chicken pesto panini is excellent. Looks like they make everything from scratch here and use fresh ingredients. This would be my go to lunch stop now when I'm in this area, highly recommended!

Quaint place near the boat yard for coffee, soup, sandwiches and snacks. Very pleasant owners who are working hard to make it.

One of my favourite spots to hit. $22-25 is the highest priced range for a diner/cafeteria setting but the portions are huge. Loved the old heavy coffee mugs and thick diner plates. My friend and I shared the German Deluxe breakfast, and we were very satisfied: 2 slices of bread, 2 pieces of watermelon, a good palm size of pork schnitzel with gravy, 3 scrambled eggs with veggies and cheese (so good), hash browns, bacon (a little dry), ham (was not salty which I appreciate) and potato pancake. Let's just say, everyone that had their own breakfast had to do a take-out box! I've seen a few folks sharing. Coffee (regular hazelnut) can be refilled but you must help yourself at the front counter. Water is in the refrigerator on the right side with cups - again, help yourself. Oder at the counter and they will give you a number to place on your tabletop. Service was great and very helpful. Originally, the owner was German but not sure if they still have the business-hence the German influence of a lot of meat. Absolutely, I would be back.

We ordered the banana and blueberry pancakes and the German breakfast. The portion size was huge and the pancakes were bigger than my head. The pancakes were fluffy and not too sugary. The German breakfast came with three scrambled eggs topped with cheese and it also came with sausage, bacon and ham and a side of toast. We could definitely feed three people with two dishes. It was a good deal for the price. Would definitely return. The food came out within 10 minutes and we were finished very quickly.

It was clean and bright and we got a nice seat by the window. Our server was quick to say hello and take our drink order. I'm always impressed with the breadth of the menu here. I landed on the Seafood Yummy Hash, and hubby had the Big breakfast, again. Coffee and water came first, and we were both delighted at how good the coffee was. Most diner style restaurants have a very burnt tasting coffee but this was very smooth. Off to a good start! Food came out very quickly and looked amazing. Both dishes were beautifully plated, and the fruit on the big breakfast was not a typical canned special. Things took a turn at the first bite though. Taste 10/10, but our food was cold. Like cold, cold which was surprising given the restaurant was mostly empty, and it came out so quick. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, and very obviously in-house made, but both of our potatoes were quite literally cold, with some of the baby potatoes being hard in the middle still. The sourdough was also stale, but not just stale in taste, it was almost like it had been toasted well in advance and then plated. The review on the big breakfast remains the same as last time. Sausage was amazing, but the bacon and the ham left something to be desired. The server took some time to return back to our table and check in on us. When she did I told her our food was cold. She just kind of made a face, said oooooh, apologized, and that was it. She also had to be reminded to refill our coffees a second time after asking. The last shock came with the bill. While the prices overall were reasonable for very large servings of food, two black coffees came to $11. I know we raved about them at the beginning of the review, but not sure they were $11 good. Really wanted to love it, but not sure it lived up to expectations this time.

I came here to try their lasagna but wrong day for that, they are serving something else on this day, unfortunately that special of the day is only up to 2;30 and I came almost 3 pm. Aside from lasagna I came for the famous milkshake. I ordered ham, cheese, tomato and lettuce sandwich plus the soup of the day bacon chowder, I wanted to try the tuna salad but again its done so the server ended up giving a quinoa salad for free. Busy place considering its covid-19 era so only 4 person inside the store at a time. Few seating inside, the café is very relaxing and for some reason I felt peace and very calm. The only noise you can hear inside were the sounds of returned bottle glasses for milk while people putting them on cases.... Interesting displays and interior designs, since its family owned I can tell that most of the displays in here were things they had when they were kids, nice stuffs very interesting .Those memorabilias made me smile, that feeling a heart truly appreciated. The sandwhich I had was okay, the soup was very good as well, hot and creamy, the quinoa salad is just okay for me its just ordinadry but not bad. Heres come something funny, I placed an order and clearly I wanted a strawberry milkshake, but what was serve was plain milkshake, I believed this was an honest mistake so I did not say anything, it was good though but maybe I ill be best if its strawberry. Wifi is free as well as parking and lots of them no worries. Service is warm and very friendly...kudos guys.... Not bad for group, family and kids. B careful if you are using a GPS coming here, wrong street and turn ....I don't know why?....... I will still come back here and bring some friends.. hope this time I will get the right milkshake.

The only thought that runs through my mind are { this is probably the best and most nostalgic breakfast in hmmm at least 10 years.} Breakfast is suppose to keep you going through the day or at least until lunch. Breakfast is a favorite meal for so many people out there. So how come breakfast places just don't seem to do a good job anymore??? Places like Denny's lHOP and such other "corporate breakfast houses. Just don't seem to really care about the quality of what they are serving anymore. And little boutique breakfast places may be good but charge you up the river for a portion you could call finger food. Here though. You can definitely still feel the love in the food, and that's why nostalgia... Everything was made the way that Grammy would be waking up at the crack of dawn just to butter up the griddle. So yes this place is out of your way, and yes this place is more of a Tucker's stop, also yes! This places decor may be from the 90s. But you want breakfast that touches the heart and soul I suggest you come here even by yourself because it's just that good. You might be to busy stuffing your face to talk to anyone else anyways. Price vs Portion wise. Price very decent, portion simply filling for what feels like home cooked food and not just the breakfast. Everything on the menu is amazing!

Closed on Wednesday and Thursday. I happened to be in the neighborhood recently around noon and decided to try this place. Located on Ewen in Queensborough part of New West, it is not super convenient for people living outside this area. There is no other restaurants here except maybe Frankie G about half a km away. So it is a deliberate decision to dine here, not a "oh I passed by and decided to try" thing. Street parking is available. The neighborhood is pretty quiet. The menu is on the board. It is all about the silogs. They also sell Sans Rival cakes. I think only as a whole cake and not in slices. I don't see many cakes so probably it's for pre-order? I didn't know what to order as I rarely had silogs. I remembered my Filipino coworker raving about bangsilog (fried baby milkfish) and decided to get that. The fish was freshly fried. The eggs were done as requested (over easy)and served over garlic rice. The fish was nice but had many bones. I'll skip that in future. The garlic rice was so good. Their in house hot sauce was phenomenal. Spicy and sour. The eggs were good too. The owner and other staff checked on me often to see if everything was fine. It is a very homely place. I noticed the owner (lady boss) asked a young couple if the food was alright when they were paying as she noticed it wasn't finished. She then suggested them to pack it away and got them a to go box. It had a whole motherly/auntie vibe. Many of the diners are Filipinos. That's how you know it's an authentic place. When I was laying, I noticed a basket of mini muffins. I just had to get one to try. Ube bytes (1-2 bites). At $5.95 for 6 minis, they are not cheap. They were so good! It was very sweet that I thought they added condensed milk. Nope it was sugar. Cream cheese was listed in the ingredients too. Perfect with unsweetened tea or coffee. Great place for Filipino breakfast and baked goods. I wish there is more baked stuff.

I've also ordered the tapa and that could taste a little tough just because of the meat itself, but also a good option. The portions are quite big and I'm usually taking some home for leftovers. Protip: get sunny side up or over easy eggs so you can use the yolk as the dipping sauce too!!
