Retro vibes, this is a good diner for grabbing an inexpensive breakfast. Staff was friendly and topped up our coffee, although I found the coffee too watery. I had the eggs benny, it was only $10 without meat. The eggs were poached soft just the way I like it and there was a lot of hollandaise sauce so I could dip my hashbrowns in it.

Great place for a breakfast. Loved their pancakes. This is a small restaurant which reminds me the 80's and their customer service is amazing.

    Chicken cutlets yummmmm

Great old school diner. Affordable, delicious food, mushroom stools at the bar, arborite table tops in the booths. Everything is perfect. Breakfast, burgers, BLT's, everything you would expect in a diner menu. Try my favourite; chicken cutlet with mashed potatoes, gravy and frozen mixed vegetables. You'd swear your grandma made it.

Great service, classic diner menu with lots of variety. Great neighborhood feel. Good coffee too.

Can't go wrong with some Great Comfort eatZ ! Had the pattie melt.. recommended, juicy pattie(get two if your feeling adventuresome) onions and perfectly grilled bread with a side of hashbrowns (thin slices of potatoes with the perfect amount of crunch)

Solid, laid-back diner with a menu that ticks all the boxes. Daytime hours places are always fun for a night owl like me, but I wore my King of Takeout crown and got breakfast one day. French toast and a vegetarian omelette. The French toast was well-made, but came with cheapo condiments. Veggie cheddar omelette was meh, not a ton of flavour or cheese. Potatoes it came with were not as crispy-fried as I wanted them to be. But I got a thermos full of filter coffee which was perfect. Very friendly staff and a nice family vibe, and super duper cheap, so I won't complain too much.

It's a truck stop cafe. Very easy to miss when you're driving on Clark Dr either north or south bound. Western and Chinese cuisine available. It's a three star, but a very enthusiastic three star. It's family run and if I were to take a wild, wild guess, they live in the upper part of the building too. The day I came here, son(?) runs the front part of the business. He seats you, brings menus, brings food and clears tables. The rest of the family cooks in the back. Overall the prices are very cheap for what you're getting. See pics. Entire meal under $25 tip in. They know who the regulars are. The son(?) asked whether I lived in the area or not when I went to pay. He's a very, very pleasant guy. Very mature for his age and soft spoken. Recommended for cheap eats. Don't come here expecting anything fancy. It is what it is. Parking on side streets. VISA/MC accepted.

Tucked not-so-quietly off the side of Clark Drive in East Vancouver, the Truck Stop Café is a great option for a fast and cheap meal. What the café lacks in feng shui it definitely makes up for in menu selection and no nonsense service. The menu items spanned the globe - with options ranging from roast beef to chinese noodles to lasagna! The breakfast selections were impressively diverse - and the portions ample. Prices were reasonable. You're definitely getting trucker diner fare, with prices to match. Coming in under $5 - including tax and tip - is an easy feat. The bathroom at the TSC left something to be desired - mainly sanitization. We're assuming that most truckers are accustomed to highway side portapotties. This bathroom was definitely on par. That said, the rest of the restaurant was neat and clean. And there were bursts of decorative flare here and there- including a stuffed big bird doll in the back corner, illuminated trucker themed art, and a dusty old milk shake machine. The neon green menus added a splash of color to the room. Our service was attentive and our coffees were refilled promptly. Truckers must like to keep to a tight schedule, and most customers seemed to enter, eat, and leave in record speed. There's no energy wasted here. Forget garnishes, extra smiles, or a good hot sauce selection. The Truck Stop Café keeps to the bare minimum on all counts - but when you're in the mood for food, fast and simple - this place has got you covered. Sadly, if you are looking to rub shoulders with real live truckers, you're better off heading to the Husky! Highlight: Diverse menu selection. Lowlight: It was too hot and humid!

Solid reviews on Yelp had us on the way. What a great little spot! There used to be so many diners of this style, it's a shame so many are no longer there for us to enjoy a simpler time. It's 100% diner right down to the mini juke boxes in each booth to the red and chrome bar stools. Even found an old Kellogg's individual cereal box display like one we had in my parents diner in Ontario, that was very cool! The service was spot on with our two servers working in unison to get waters, tea, orders, delivering food, cleaning up like a well oiled team. They even have old fashioned milk shakes and an Hamilton Beach machine to blend them up. WOW, nostalgia. The food came out quickly and was cooked exactly as we asked, and it was plentiful and a solid breakfast for the price. My potatoes were a little greasy, to me, but everything else was perfect. The bacon, three slices, of good quality and perfectly crispy as ordered. We will most certainly return to The Templeton when downtown again. Our hotel close by, not so much, but this little gem, unquestionably!

Old fashion style diner located on Granville Street…read more Gets busy during lunch time since they close up at 3:00pm, mainly catering to the neighborhood crowd. Portable old fashion jukeboxes on each table, too bad none are functioning, only for show, could have used a little Elvis Presley during my meal. Service staff so complimented the diner atmosphere, smiley, friendly, hustling used plates off the tables and eagerly waiting for their returning daily familiar customers. Ordered the classic benny and huevos rancheros. Hollandaise sauce on the benny was excellent with a slight lemon tanginess. Eggs runny, smoked ham on a crispy muffin. Heaven's perfect breakfast creation. Huevos rancheros could use improvement. Scrambled eggs with green pepper and onions could have used some additional seasoning. Black beans didn't seem fresh but then again I'm not a black bean expert, rosemary potatoes were crispy with a moist center. The retro vibe was 5 star, I was expecting retro .25 drinks and $5 breakfasts but alas inflation is an unstoppable monster in our everyday lives.

Service was good, friendly. The restaurant is the same as I recall, clean enough. A little cramped and the seating isnt too comfortable. Its really not a good place to hang out for a long time, but rather sit down, eat, and get out type of place. I had the lavender latte and the Tagine this time. Ive had it before and at least its pretty consistent. Ive tried several other things on their menu in the past too, all pretty solid 4/5. Nothing standout as so amazing to deserve 5 stars, but consistent and tasty. I did have a reservation which they charge $10/person for, purely for donation to a charity and does not contribute to your meal at all, and also nonrefundable. While I find this somewhat annoying, I dont blame them for doing this from a business standpoint. They always have a lineup so there is no shortage of customers for them. There is no reason they need to deal with the headache of a ton of reservations. On the flip side, they honoured my reservation in a very timely fashion and I bypassed the line, so props to them for doing that part right. If you have to park, then you may find street metered parking or use one of the nearby paid lots.

These little touches really make for a nice experience, and help the prices make sense - you really do get what you pay for. I've split a slice of pie and feasted on one of their stack of chocolate chip cookies. Yum. I've even come in for just a bowl of delicious tomato soup, served with soft sourdough.
