Poor quality of food wait staff is unfriendly and do not know the menu. My meal had no flavor and was not properly cooked.

Walked in and sat at the bar, there was someone at the register that took close to 5 minutes before she turned around to acknowledge me. Finally got service, got my beer and a tortilla soup. I always order tortilla soup if it's on the menu anywhere I go. This was by far the worst one I have ever had. It was basically vegetable soup that they threw cheese, pico and tortillas. Had huge chunks of carrot and celery. Terrible. I ordered a burger and fries. They were ok, but I mean it's hard to mess up burger and fries. Sat at the Bar, Walter the bar tender was very friendly and quickly changed out my skunked house wine when I asked him to. He suggested the Cajun Chicken Pasta which was delicious. Prices were resonance and great service. read more

Seriously love the food here! I stay nearby at a hotel for work, so there aren't a lot of options, but I'm glad this is one of them. The food is by no means gourmet, but consistently flavorful, the price is right, and the service always friendly. Good Eats. My Texas kitchen;-) read more

Hard to believe a hotel restaurant can be pretty darn good, and you know? It was reasonably priced too. Awesome combination. However the service was a bit slow, but we were well taken care of. Food was served hot and accurately during the lunch rush. Wife and I had a great time. Looking forward to the return visit. read more

We had a wonderful late lunch this afternoon. We both had the delicious rainbow trout, which is a very generous serving, with home-style sides of squash casserole, broccoli-rice casserole, and green beans. The bread basket included some of the sweetest, most tender cornbread I have had. We finished by sharing a huge warm peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Our server was lovely. She was pretty overworked because she was the only server there at the time, but she was unfailingly sweet and smiling. We love this place. read more

Just ate here because it was the nicest place near the airport. Didn't expect much, honestly. Walter, my waiter, was amazing. Made the perfect recommendation. Steak was cooked a perfect medium rare...and properly rested. Meal was the perfect size. He called me darlin (not m'am even though im far older than he) and I've had a bad week. My WAITERS were WONDERFUL!! The Shrimp Andouille Gumbo had a very tasty base, 3-4 shrimp and 3 small crab claws.. but the main problem is the rice was NOT DONE, and ruined the entire experience. I think the rice was very old and they did not have time to cook fresh. I was hesitant to eat it at all, but they closed in 20 minutes and left me very little choices. What a shame because the gumbo was great, but without rice, it was not acceptable. Very nice atmosphere for an airport restaurant and the waiters were so nice, which made it bearable.. Recommended by the hotel, 3/4 mile walk so. It bad. Service excellent. Establishment very clean and inviting. The sweet tea, well, wasn't. GREAT smoked trout!! Nice big portion. Killer squash casserole. The sweet potato fries were excellent too. I had the Very large rack of ribs the next night, great sauce. Draft beer was nice and cold. Good eat has an excellent ambiance and great friendly customer service experience. You will find servers like Angela at the bar and Evelyn who's always smiling will infect you with a super friendly approach that allows you to have a good taste in your mouth regardless of the food quality. Very poor service. Placed the order and waited for two hours, still did not get my food.

I work near here and this is the 2nd time I have tried it.. and last. I went in to sit down at 1pm, which is way after the lunch rush. I noticed that the 4 tables around me had no drinks, nor food. After sitting there for 10 minutes, I decided to order a to go order at the bar due to being on my lunch break. I walk up with my other coworker, 2 ladies are behind the bar helping another lady at the to-go counter. One of them was a manager and they were trying to figure out something with credit card transactions. The customer then got frustrated and the manager's personal cell phone started to ring. At that point, the manager screamed out, "just take your food and we'll take the transactions off the cards." She then proceeded to answer her phone and walk through the bar area to go hide in the corner. The other lady finally finished what she had to do on the computer to take our separate orders. It took about 30 minutes for 2 appetizers come out. I ordered spinach artichoke dip and literally received a box of chips. I asked her what this was and she looked at me stupid and said that the dip was in the container. I had no other container in my bag or anything. She then ran to the back to grab it and printed our receipts. I paid with cash and my coworker paid with her card. She got the receipts mixed up and swiped my coworkers card for my food and again, looked at me as if I was stupid when I told her what she had done. It's been over 2 years since we last ate here, it had been good food, but the service was so bad, we hadn't been back since. Went to try it again, stood for 10 minutes, no acknowledgement, no nothing. Waiters and bus people looked at us, but didn't bother to tell a hostess or someone to come sit us. The chicken fried steak and potato were good and my buddy had the meatloaf and said it was good also. I'm giving them two stars for service. We ordered the buffalo bites which were surprisingly good and they came out 5 minutes before our beers. We ordered draft beers and they came out in big PLASTIC cups like you'd use for soda!!!! The beer wasn't especially cold and the 1" of head on the beer had completely disappeared and it looked like we got half of a glass of beer. The waitress was friendly enough but was super slow. The table next to us got up to pay and it took them 10 minutes to cash him out. When she brought us our bill she turned to leave and I said wait a sec I'll give you my card now. She turned and walked off. I called her by name and she looked back and kept walking. So rude. Took her 5 minutes to come back. No thank you coming in or nothing. I'm in Houston for an exam. Since I didn't want to go out, the easiest option was to head downstairs to the hotel restaurant with my study materials. Honestly this restaurant was a whole lot of "meh" to me. The menu was very typical of a chain steakhouse or American dinner place. Just wanted more pizazz I suppose. I didn't want anything chicken-fried, which seemed to make up a lot of the menu, so I settled on ordering a steak, which I ordered medium. The food came out quickly which was a plus. But my steak was medium rare. And the further I got into it the more medium rare it became. I debated sending it back, but to be honest I just didn't have the time to spare. I'm also a purist when it comes to steaks. This one had tons of different spices and things on it... Like it was trying to hide something. My side of mac n cheese was nothing to write home about. All in all, just meh. I ate half the steak and called it a night. I'm sure this place can compare to any chain steakhouse. But how some people rate it four stars I just don't get. read more

We've never stayed near Bush International in Houston and we were struggling to find a good place to eat near our hotel. We had to stay close by because we were using the hotel shuttle. Marriott recommended Good Eats so we gave it a shot. We got grilled chicken and chicken quesadillas. The chicken is juicy and flavorful, perfect! The service is top notch. Our waiter was extremely attentive and friendly. The decor is real Texas. The menu offers anything you want, kind of like Chili's but more options for vegetables like squash casserole, fresh soups and salads, all kinds of yummy choices! If we ever stay in this area again we will definitely go there! read more

I am staying at the holiday inn that is attached to this restaurant and went there for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good. I had a burger that was delicious and perfectly cooked on an onion roll. They give you jalapeño cornbread to start. Really good... service was fast and super friendly. read more
