Alicia was our bartender and server. She was attentive and made sure we were taken care of. We ordered the 8 oz sirloin (rare) and grilled shrimp and chicken critters. The steak was cooked perfect. By the time we finished our food and beers it was within the hour by closing time. We're regulars at this location so we'll be back soon!

In a now-deleted social media post, allegedly shared in a Facebook group called "White and proud," a user named Nancy Smith said they worked at an unidentified Texas Roadhouse location and was in a pact with other White servers at the restaurant. While it's unclear whether the page that posted the message is a real or a parody account, the user said in the post that some servers at both Texas Roadhouse and Logan's Roadhouse planned to lick their fingers and touch food before serving it to Black diners. The user also purported in the post that this has been going on for a while, or at least since the April 2025 killing of 17-year-old White teenager Austin Metcalf. Karmelo Anthony, a Black teenager, was charged with murder and sentenced to 35 years in prison for the fatal stabbing in a case that drew national attention. Texas Roadhouse is addressing a viral social media rumor alleging that its employees racially targeted and tampered with Black customers' food. The company strongly denies the claims, declaring them a 100% fabricated online hoax. The beef behemoth is facing growing boycott calls after a TikTok went viral alleging a Facebook group called "White and Proud" was targeting black customers. The TikTok, posted by user Sannie Yeanay, read aloud that white servers were deliberately contaminating food. The user said that the Facebook group had over 400,000 members where white servers discussed heading back to the kitchen's "blind spot," licking their fingers, touching food and spitting on rolls ordered by black diners, according to the claim.

The entire restaurant is decorated with old-school totems & signs that make you travel back in time. It is homey and whimsically designed--anyone would appreciate this. The cornbread reminds me of a version of the intoxicating rolls from Texas Roadhouse (BUT this cornbread is better) it is served with a cinnamon & regular butter. I always order a new item when I return, and this time the Philly cheesesteak was the main character. It was meaty and scrumptious & the onion rings added a nice touch. Servers here feel like family and who doesn't love that! Also please try the root beer or creme soda they are crafted by themselves!! Food: 9/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 1000/10

Absolutely awful. I ordered the deluxe country breakfast and my husband just ordered sausage gravy…read moreand biscuits. Preface, everyone seemed in a terrible mood upon walking in. I haven't been to Humble city cafe in years and am so disappointed in how much it's changed. They claim home made biscuits and gravy, that is a complete lie. Those of us who make home made biscuits and sausage gravy can tell the difference. The gravy didn't have any flavor and the sausage was a sausage patty the threw on the grill, cooked and chopped into huge pieces and tossed into the gravy. The only thing that may have been home made was the pancakes. My chicken fried steak was literally almost nothing but fried breading. Paper thin steak to the point we literally couldn't taste meat and it disentegrated into tiny little crumb sized pieces when cut into. I ordered my eggs fried over medium-hard, yolk came spilling out when I began cutting into them. The country potatoes are frozen, not home made at all. The waitress seemed shocked that I wasn't happy with the chicken fried steak and begrudgingly took it back. I didn't bother mentioning the eggs or potatoes. I took maybe 5 bites of the entire meal. I took my losses, paid my bill and left. We went home and made our own breakfast. This is not the same food, atmosphere, or friendliness we had become accustomed to in the past and this is why so many small businesses end up falling. Kids or grand kids take over and try to take the easy and lazy way out, at the expense of the restaurants reputation and viability. What a shame.

Hippo Burgers popped up on my Yelp search and was not too far away, so I bookmarked it. Could have went to the Popeyes near by, but I really had a taste for a burger. Reviews were solid, so I figured why not?! Drive was bumpy to HB, but that is typical for the Aldine area, so drive carefully! Parking lot was plentiful even during lunchtime, but I did arrive just before 11:30 so I may have missed the lunch break traffic. Still about half of the restaurant was filled up. The menu is straightforward and outlines the ingredients on the burger. Desiring a burger with bacon, I ordered the BLT Burger- without mayo added mustard. You will find that the burgers are not too overly inclusive with a bunch of toppings but include one ingredient that makes it unique enough to make a statement (i.e. bacon, mushrooms jalepanos...This gives HB time and focus to make an oustanding meaty and flavorful patty to showcase their burgers which gives it that homemade burger vibe. Plus the order came out quick! Portion size was generous and worth the price. Very tasty burger that will keep you full the rest of the day. I cannot forget the fries, which came out fresh and hot. A pinch of salt- just how I like them, which was the deciding factor for me to eat at HB versus driving back to training and risk my fries getting cold! I gladly indulged in every single bite of my burger and fries. Plus, I love that they have Pepsi versus Coke beverages. They sell one cup size for fountain drinks. Dining in? free refills! I also liked that the tables are spaced out and give people room to eat. Tables provided plenty of paper towels as well as you sink your teeth into your burger and possibly get a little undignified. No one will blame you. Good food deserves to be devoured and I most certainly will be back again to indulge accordingly.

Day two of eating out, while my kids are at school!…read more First & foremost, this is NOT our first time eating here. We usually come at least once a week. Although, we've been slacking lately. You honestly don't even need to finish reading my review, because Ms Rachel does her thing EVERY time. We never complain & our food is ALWAYS right. So go ahead & jump in traffic & slide that way. But let's get into it anyway! The Garlic Parmesan wings! My personal favorite. I live by these wings, I swear by these wings -- I easily swallow a 12 piece with nothing to drink. (I know. I know. My husband always side eyes me, because he doesn't see how I do it. Lol.) they will forever be a 10 out of 10! Also, my youngest is the same way about her lemon pepper wings! I'm sure I will hear about it when it slips up that I ate here today. Lol. The cheeseburgers here! Uggh. I got three bites of my husbands today! After I told him I didn't get any meat after the first two. He wouldn't let me in for a fourth *cries* I personally love my burgers dressed, with NO cheese. Cheese tends to ruin burgers for me. But these burgers! These burgers here. No! My husband gets his with nothing but bacon, cheese, mayo & mustard. & they are still top tier! Juicy & flavorful. So you guessed it, another 10 out of 10. There are also plenty of other menu items, as well as lemonade! (She was sold out when we went, but when I say they are delicious, they are delicious!) but since we didn't order any of them today, I won't be reviewing them. I will in the future though -- mark my words. Everything is always seasoned to perfection. Ms Rachel is the sweetest. & I promise you, you won't be disappointed. Definitely a "Baaaaabyyyyy!
