The green beans are whole but they have flavor unlike some places. Jalapeno spoon bread was delicious it's like corn casserole met cornbread. Hubby got the sampler platter with smoked turkey, ribs, brisket and salmon. Fun fact they will let you sample the meats before you decide on which ones you want. The salmon was hands down the best salmon he ever had he said. It completely hit different and would definitely order again The brisket was juicy and had a great bark on it with amazing flavor and seasoning Turkey wasn't dry at all and had a great smoked flavor Ribs were fall off the bone good with yet again great seasoning Baked beans- didn't care for these at all they tasted like ketchup Mac and cheese was just basic wouldn't order again Potato salad was the best side out of the ones he got. Wish we would have been told that cause we would have waited but not a huge deal. Owner was there, at least I think he was the owner, and he was going around to each table to make sure everything was good. That was appreciated. The young lady at the order counter was very kind and welcoming, but I believe it was the owner or the cook that came out and brought my sandwich. He never made eye contact ,never said thank you ,just shoved my sandwich in a bag at me ,and walked away. I had asked for a small container of extra sauce and was willing to pay, and the young lady said no ,they will put sauce on the sandwich ,so I was fine with that. For $14 ,I had a small hamburger bun with no pickles, no onions, just meat and a quarter teaspoon of sauce. I brought it home and put on some of my own sauce and pickles, but sadly, the meat was very dried out ,as though it had been chopped earlier and frozen, or just overcooked.There was no smoke ring on the meat at all. It was brown all the way through ,and the edges were too hard to eat on many of the pieces. I ended up having to knock off about half of the inedible meat ,and so had a very spare sandwich for lunch. Too expensive for this disappointing product,so I won't be back. I love to support local, but I work hard for my money too, and cannot waste it.

My husband and son love crawfish when in season, so I got a couple of pounds of crawfish to try with added corn and potatoes. I truly appreciate the price for the crawfish and adding the corn and potatoes weren't ridiculously priced like some places - I feel a lot of restaurants are getting overpriced. But one of the owners assured me that the cook has some flavorful crawfish, and it was! The crawfish had the right amount of spice and seasoning. Aside from the food, I was told that they have live music on the weekends and it's BYOB also! However, they do offer soda and water to purchase as well. I really liked the smoked beans and cobbler! Everything was absolutely delicious and worth the wait. All of the meats were flavorful, juicy, and tender. The CS tacos were good, and I highly recommend getting the pulled pork to go with them. The prime beef rib was the standout for me. They only offer it on Saturdays, so definitely get it if you're there. The staff was friendly and attentive. Despite being busy, they checked on us frequently and even helped clear our table multiple times. My mother-in-law opted for a plain potato with just cheese and butter and she also commented on how hers didn't have much cheese on it. We also got the cornbread and when we first tried it, it was a bit hard. We nuked it in the microwave and that made it much better to eat. Pricing was reasonable, though I'm used to paying a lot more for food in California, so that may not be the norm in Texas.

My wife and I came on a Friday and it was our first time. They generously let us try some of their barbecue FOR FREE because they were confident we would find something we would like. We got samples of the marbled brisket and their house-made sausage along with their homemade sauces - let me tell you we just ended up getting entrees of the things we tasted because I just wanted more of it. Lol. Their brisket is so tender and juicy that it basically starts to tear itself apart when you pick it up. It goes toe for toe with some of the best in Houston. The house made sausage we ordered sandwich style - two buns, plenty of sausage and topped w/plenty of fixings. We also got their corn and brisket Mac n Cheese (YES, they have B-mac) as the sides. They were also amazing: the corn was generously lathered in butter and slightly sweet. The B-mac was incredibly cheesy and also savory thanks to the delicious brisket juices mixed with the noodles. Can't forget about the service as well. Very friendly, very helpful and super proud of the food they serve. They stand behind what they are cooking and serving to people. I love that they are so close to home and have been here for a while. You can find their food truck parked in front of the Scarlet Barbell Club gym on Wednesday-Saturday's.
