Normally, Porky's is packed, so I was surprised that we were able to park right in the front. There were cars in the parking lot, but once we walked inside, there really weren't many people. We also noticed a sign at the entrance stating no children under 18. My daughter is 17 and was with me, so we went in together without an issue. We walked around checking out the different food trucks and eventually decided on a Smash Burger. The burger was absolutely delicious! No complaints at all about the food. Where things got confusing was around 9:30 p.m. We went to the bar to order drinks and get some ice, only to discover that the bar was already closed. The music had stopped, people were leaving, and it appeared that the entire inside area was shutting down. We were really surprised because the advertised closing time online was 2:00 a.m. Even the food trucks seemed to have different closing times. The truck we ordered from told us we were their last order because they were closing at 10:00 p.m. He explained that their truck is owned by Porky's, while some of the other trucks are independently operated and have their own hours. Another family arrived while we were waiting for our food and was just as confused as we were. They had specifically come because they expected a lively atmosphere and multiple food options. After realizing things were shutting down, they decided to leave. That was probably the most disappointing part. Porky's used to be somewhere you could come later in the evening and expect music, people, food trucks, drinks, and a fun atmosphere. This time, by 9:30 on a Friday night, it felt like the night was already over. My daughter and I still enjoyed ourselves because our purpose was really to spend some time together, talk, and enjoy each other's company, and those burgers were GOOD! But I definitely think the hours need to be clearer. If the main area and bar close around 9:30 and individual food trucks have different hours, that should be communicated online so people know what to expect before making the trip. Hopefully this was just an unusual night, because we've enjoyed Porky's in the past. I would definitely come back for the food, but next time I would come much earlier.

Four years on and we still enjoy doing it. This month was back to an old favorite, Fire Craft BBQ. Owner and head pit master, David Welch puts his heart and soul into the products his restaurant turns out. Not only that, there is a lot of variety and specialty dishes on the menu that most other BBQ places don't serve. We had 14 in our group and were able to pull together some tables and chairs in the large additional dining room they added not long after opening. The room is clean and well lit, big ceiling fans keep the air moving. Our group ordered a variety of things; I had the brisket hamburger with a side of the very southern yellow squash casserole. My wife had the chopped beef sandwich with fries and another friend had the chicken plate with beans and coleslaw. Others had their tocos and other sandwiches, one had the ribs. We were all full and happy when we finished. What 's nice is David came by to check on us and make sure everyone was happy, not many owners take that kind of personal attention.

The restaurant was spacious, clean, not too crowded and the wait to order was not long at all. We approached the register to place our order and the young lady at the register wasn't the friendliest. No hello, no smile, just a stare. We wanted ribs but were told they sold out, however we heard another employee saying they had a batch coming off the pit. I also tried to order the pinto beans and she said those were sold out as well. We found a table and waited about 10 mins or so for our food to be delivered do our table. We ordered a chopped chicken sandwich, baked potato, Mac n cheese, baked beans, corn spoon-bread, and brisket. Most of the items were really good and freshly made. Baked beans were just okay, reminded me of pork n beans. The spoonbread had great texture but lacked flavor. Although the cashier wasn't the most pleasant, the manager made up for the lacking customer service. He could be seen walking around the restaurant interacting with customers and asking about their experience. Overall it was a pretty good experience!
