I usually don't leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with Back Yard Escapes and Blue Diamond pools. Unfortunately, the service I received was disappointing from start to finish. There were long wait times with little to no communication. I understand that things can get busy, but basic courtesy and professionalism were lacking throughout the interaction. What's more is my pool build was full of things gone wrong which made the above experience of poor communication extremely frustrating. The initial plaster they put in failed, They tried everything possible to not re-plaster then 8 months later they finally re-plastered it but they used that same company,Blue Diamond Plaster. Same types of cracks showed up again. They said it was cosmetic. A year later those cracks on my tanning ledge turned into chucks of plaster failure and now my ledge is breaking of along all those cracks. This company and its owners that talked me into going with them because they are like family and a local family company...are the same ones that will not even come look at the pool. I've sent them pictures and correspondence. Their response is to finish paying them the final 15% of the project then they will come out and "look" at it! I truly don't know what to do. If I pay them and never hear from them again then I may still have a broken pool. Or I can pay another company to fix it but what if the rest of the plaster fails! I wish I could post pictures. Those are just to highlight a few of the reasons I spent many many nights fretting and in tears! I had hoped for a better experience having moved to Redding excited to experience and enjoy how neighbors and family businesses treat eachother. Paid a fortune for a pool remodel, owner was absent, work was HORRID, texture is uneven, cracking, and algae clings to surface worse than old texture. Took them to arbitration and they use State Inspector and favor the contractor, so only got $600 for botched tile. Owner sat in arbitration hearing, with his lawyer, blatantly lying about what transpired, he was not on jobsite, except to collect money! He was rude, obnoxious, and knows this was not done properly. Have no recourse whatsoever, have to live with uneven textures and colors and Blue Diamond is the "authorised" Pebble Tech dealer for all the Pool contractors locally, so no one want to deal with it. Completely ripped off and know of 4 others here in West Redding, identical circumstances, they just gave up. DO NOT RECOMMEND.....RUN!!! read more

Excellent work by Bob and Crew. I saw some negative reviews here on Yelp, and was doubtful, but we have friends who had Blue do their pool a few years back, and they recommended them, so we decided to go with the known source. Our pool needed replastering 22 years ago when we purchased our home, and it didn't improve over the years. The wife finally talked me into having the work done. I got several bids and Blue had the best, by far. Very reasonable, especially considering some of the more outrageous bids here in town--not including the upgrade to Luna Quartz, as opposed to plain white plaster. Yep, the most reasonable bid isn't always the best bet, but we went with it and I have no complaints whatsoever. On the first day, they stripped the old tiles and water blasted the old pool plaster, removing some of it in the process. Five days passed while the new tile was in shipment; then they installed the new tiles, cleaned the plaster surfaces again, and installed a bonding agent on all plaster surfaces. The following day, they sent in the largest crew, and they spent the morning replastering the pool. They were done by noon. Total work days: 3, and completed a week early. No mess left behind, either. They started filling the pool immediately. What a difference from the worn out old yellowish plaster we had. I just got my old 1967 pool re-surfaced by Bob and his crew. It looks beautiful. I appreciated the several page contract because communication is important in a big job like this. Bob communicated throughout the whole process so I understood what was happening at each step. They have a great team at Blue Diamond pools. Allie in the office was always helpful in answering my questions along the way. Bob is the real deal. Old school in the best way. No BS. His word is his bond like those from the handshake generation. Paid with cashiers checks because electronic payments not accepted which was fine. I highly recommend Blue Diamond for your next project. My pool looks beautiful . read more

RUN. Run like you're on fire. First they make you sign a six page contract stating you won't sue them then they do Shawty work. They didnt put enough product to plaster the pool properly and was not mixed correctly leaving spots everywhere as massive dripping lines along the side of the pool. When we voiced our concern, they said wait 28 days. but on the Contract it says you have 10 days to make your concerns in writing.also a hairline fracture in the concrete deck and after four redos it still looks bad. we were told all the spotting is natural however it is not it's due to poor mixing. I sent the owner photos but he only got agitated. They were perhaps a really good pool, remodeling company and concrete company years ago, but not anymore. I wish I would've read all the reviews prior to going with the company. read more

Blue Diamond Pools did a horrible job on my resurfacing it was supposed to be very exciting for me and it was the biggest nightmare of my life everybody that comes over says it looks absolutely horrible Bob the owner sent me like 20 messages responding saying he would come over and fix the issues and he never did At this point I would just love A refund for this nightmare. I tried to get their insurance information for filing a claim for bad workmanship and they won't even get back to me with their insurance. We called around to various other local pool companies and Bob with Blue Diamond was the only one to respond and actually come out with a sample book! We used Blue diamond to resurface our pool and add a shelf in the deep end. Bob and his crew did a fantastic job in a timely fashion!! We have been very satisfied with the work they did!! I had my inground plaster pool refinished last year. Delay after delay with an excuse for everything. When the crew finished with the plaster they turned on the water to fill and left, telling me to turn it off when it's full. I was handed a copy of warranty and instructions for care of the pool while curing. It was then I learned that I needed to brush the entire pool twice a day with one arm. I just had shoulder surgery. I called to tell him that there was a dark ugly line on the floor and there were surface cracks everywhere. I was told that I hadn't filled the pool right. When I was able to start the sweep, weeks later, I found the wall fitting was cracked. Many calls later, Bob the owner showed up. He assured me his crew wouldn't have cracked it and I must have done it. Really? He fixed it with a discolored, used fitting. I messaged again to let him know it was getting worse. No show. I messaged him today to ask if he was going to come by to fix the part. Again with excuses, then realized I wasn't the customer he had been putting off currently. I paid another repairman to come out. It was a $12 part! Bob just didn't wast to waste his valuable time. He already had my check. read more

Dont be surprised if they act like they are doing you a favor by getting you and estimate and completing the job. Took over a month for a call back and when I asked why. The rep had a " we are better than you attitude and said well...uhhhh..its our busy time. Like I'm sitting around all day with nothing to do. Spent over $8000 with Blue Diamond, cannot get a returned phone call and will NOT honor their warranty. Forget these guys
