I've been working with Guiton's Pools for about 4years. The last six months they've gotten nothing but downhill I was willing to overlook the billings, which just seemed to go up enough for treatment for the pool or parts, but my Pool guy I found out was arrested and they terminated him would not tell me why and I did have a way of contacting him and I did find out why and it wasn't too nice. I feel deceptive by the Pool service they sent out someone else who is brand new truly I don't believe knows what he's doing, but he thinks that he's doing the best job possible he's getting carried away with the pool poisons for a pool that has a little to know use I've asked them to stop and they don't listen. They have Christine in their office and the customer is never right no matter what you say. You're never right I always thought that when you paid your bills and made request, they would try to keep the customer happy that is not the case read more

From start to finish this is pretty much seamless. However there are some hiccups. Conversations that were said to have had had not been had, plans that were altered not added to the plan , which resulted in surprise bills invoices sent to the wrong party for things that weren't ordered but necessary I.e shot crete after rain. Poor communication which was somewhat rectified but is now a farce unless you contact a supervisor directly. Don't get me wrong. My pool looks amazing. There are some things that anger me greatly about the subcontractors that were there that I've discussed with management and hopefully that's fixed. It's just some of that stuff can be tweaked and fixed before it becomes an issue And I understand they do a shit ton of pools throughout the year, but every customer should be A number one, not just the next customer. And this should carry on through service for the at least the first month of free service that's offered for a new pool. People that need recognition are Chris Russo, Jimmy Havens and his crew Jonny and Kyle, even with the bird mishap and Aaron the plumber. read more

Overpriced on everything. Horrible concrete work. I had a huge pool built. Under built and designed the whole filter system. All colors i picked for all the concrete dissapeared almost instantly. Neglect on their part. Never checking filter pressure causing pump to stop. Then telling me that the only way to fix this is to drain it. In the midst of a drought instead of filtering it out. They refused to even clean and change the filters. Needless to say I have the pool clearer and on it's way to clean in just two days of filtering, clean the filters, filter some more, clean etc. Whatever happened to good customer service? Why not take responsibility and make it right? I hope the owner reads this and talks to his/her incompetent employees. read more

Antonio was rude and disrespectful. would not return call , would not forward service tags when requested , because they missed a scheduled cleaning and there was no service tag to send. he said he would have route supervisor call me - still waiting! they cleaned my filter cartridges even though they had never done it in the past . my filter leaked when they were done , it leaked from jan 9 to 20th. the supervisor who repaired the filter on Friday jan 20th said he would call me when he was done- still waiting! my house was on the market and the pool looked like s----. there is enough to deal with when selling a house , maintaining a pool should not be one of them. find a company who responds to your needs and has a responsive customer service department. I've been using Guitton for years for pool service and it was time to order new filters. They did not carry the filter type anymore and it needed to be ordered. They gave me filter number for our pool to order replacement. Ordered the exact filter they said was for my pool - it didn't fit. Lost money in paying the return shipping plus the hassle. Went to Leslie's, they were able to find a work around replacement and ordered for me delivered to my door for free. Also, Leslie's will help you with your phosphate levels and I don't care what Guitton says - phosphate levels matter and adding this balance has helped with the quality of the pool AND preventing algae. Rant- Guitons pool service is terrible. The receptionist owner what ever she is her name is Deanna, She has no interest in customer satisfaction, quality control constructive criticism. I ordered inspections, only part were done so when I called them back out they charged me again my husband ordered pool service 2 twice a month so I am no disturbed, they came to do 4 times a month. The Inspection was for a home purchase and pool and spa Inspectionis what I requested. Ispoke to them more than once, so since they didn't inspect Spa, After close of escrow I go to use the Spa and it won't hold water and all jets no good. I likely need a new spa, an expense I likely wouldn't have had if somebody paid attention! When trying to rearrange schedules they couldn't accommodate blames gardeners and says she thinks they make a mess on purpose. I said no reports are to be sent to Realestate agents as I paid and ordered them. I reiterated this twice, they sent them anyway and the list goes on. So when I politely went over this, Deanna had every excuse and then told me there are other companies. Businesses live or die off the quality of their service. I've known Guitons for years so have my friends and family. Thankfully there are new companies that might take their place. They won't earn your business. Run! They should gladly take recommendations from their customers to ensure they continue to serve well. You should get lip and excuses and the response be that I find another company when I did everything right and Deanna who I believe initially passed the order to Shawn dropped the ball and it got dropped again after that. The people in the field, Jay and Andrew were nice and did a good job but the office getting their wires crossed and giving their customer lip and excuses IS half of the experience. Hubby and I want to give a big shout out to Polo and Autumn at Guiton's service center. We had a beautiful pool put in 20 years ago by another company, unfortunately our calls for help to fix a night time pool light were not returned from the original contractor. After one year of getting no where from original contractor, we contacted Guiton's and explained after a PG&E shut off the night colored lights stopped working. We were pretty confident it wasn't a physical light issue, but a simple fix for a pool knowledgeable person. We spoke with Autumn, very friendly gal who said they were 10 days out for a visit and they would hope to find the issue. Polo came out, spoke to hubby, a few minutes in, Polo found the problem, a circuit below just for the pool electrical items was tripped. The honesty and professionalism of Guiton's is wonderful. The visit charge fee to our Red Bluff home was more than fair. We will utilize this company in the future. Honesty and integrity pulls alot of weight these days, thank you again, Autumn and Polo. read more

Guiton's Pools built our 1st swimming pool in the 90's and we had zero problems with it. It was beautiful, worked perfectly and was the easiest thing in our home to care for. We had Guiton's Pools build our 2nd swimming pool at our new home in 2002. It was more complicated by access problems so they started digging before the house foundation went it. This pool is also beautiful and easy to care for. I have spoken with many pool owners and some had nightmare stories from using other contractors. Guiton Pools are worth the wait and the price! They do it right the first time, and they stand behind their product. I will use them again, if I ever leave this oasis they've built. read more

I used Guitons for my pool service. The service was hit or miss. I never really knew what or when chemicals were added. Sometimes i would find a piece of paper with some chicken scratch from my service tech but most of the time i couldn't find anything. This was stressful because i have a small child and a very expensive Labor doodle puppy. I eventually contacted a competitor and am much happier. In the fall of 2017 I purchased a Quadra-Fire wood stove from the business. There was an issue with the wood stove when it was operating. Adam and Neal worked with me trying to resolve the issue and was unsuccessful. Ultimately, Guiton's Pool Center ordered a replacement wood stove from the manufacturer and installed it at no cost. The new Quadra-Fire wood stove does not have any issues. read more

My pool was green so I brought in a water sample and it was misdiagnosed as needing a whole gallon of acid which I added. The following day it remained green so I brought in another water sample. This time the test came back as being extremely high in acid and I had to buy 75 pounds of balance pack to counterattack it. The third day the pool remained green so I went to Leslie's and the test still showed high acid so they finally gave me the correct products to clear it. All totaled the mistake ended costing around $400 unnecessarily so I would not recommend Guitons at all! read more

We decided to install a pool in our backyard in December 2017 . After talking to some local professionals in the Redding area we chose Guiton's. First off let me say from the very beginning that we were impressed because Guiton's staff Genuinely wanted to design our pool the way we wanted, not what was easiest for them. We worked with Mike Heberlein, all I can say is WOW. This gentleman is the real deal. He explained all the options (more than once) as it was like learning a foreign language. Mike was more than patient through the whole process. I would recommend Guiton's to everyone that wants service AFTER the sale. I waited 2 years to review them so this is a true review, not one right after the honeymoon. Guiton's has stood behind their product, and Mike has continued to be there for us, after the sale. Signed a contract to restore my cool decking around my pool and put sundeck coating on my new concrete. They charged us for grinding down the existing cool deck but changed their minds and just coated over the top. Only gave us a credit for a very small amount even after a big fight. Would never use Guiton's again and PLEASE, NEVER USE SUN DECK... It is terrible!!!! It is slick and stains so bad it looks years old already. We are paying another company to redo our concrete after paying 16,000 to Guiton's 9 months ago. Buyer beware!!!!! read more

Very rude company! I was going to use them to service my hot tub and decided to go with a more professional company after being flipped off twice on the road for no apparent reason. Having road rage in a company truck is not smart! So many people get in accidents because of road rage and it's not worth it! We have tried doing business with Guiton's twice and twice we have been let down. When we first moved to Redding, we inquired about putting in an in ground pool. I was told, rather rudely by the woman in their store, that someone would call me back; they never did. Must be doing well if you can afford to forgo that sort of business. That was 3 years ago. We recently bought a house with a pool and thought we'd try them again for the service. Once again the woman on the phone was rude and abrupt, but assured us we would get a call back, after 3 days of waiting, we went with a solo outfit, and the guy knows exactly how to treat customers and came out the day we called despite being busy. Guiton's may be the biggest pool store in the area, but don't let that fool you if you think you are going to be treated well. Awful service, and they don't even seem to care. read more

Guiton's taught me a valuable lesson this week: when getting services from a storefront business, check to see if THEY are giving you the service or if it is being farmed our to a contractor. In this case, I wanted my pool tile cleaned. Instead of referring me to the contractor, they charged me a premium to simply make the phone call themselves. Not cool, especially when Guiton's is expensive enough as it is. When I complained and told them I am a long-standing customer who bought my energy-efficient pump from them among other services, Sheri literally put up her arms in a big shrug as if to say, "too bad". Also not cool. They said it was because that way they could "guarantee the work". Well, I can do that myself with the contractor. I guess I'll have to check into Leslie's pools on Cypress or doing things online. read more

Whatever you can do to avoid this company and go with another reputable company, do it. The one good thing about them is Eric Nihart who did my pool inspection. Here are the multiple things that went completely wrong. 1. Upon ordering pool service it took two weeks for them to actually begin; between the time I ordered it and them coming out I had to call several times just to get a firm start date. By the time they came out between 2-3 weeks later, my pool had developed so many issues that weren't there when I requested service. 2. Multiple times I had to check and correct the work of the service technician. 3. I finally got so frustrated with the service that I scheduled a pool instruct... it was like pulling teeth. So frustrating. The answer I got was, "if you have an issue you can always call us out"...and pay for it. The actual pool service was decent. The customer service and ability to work with customers, left a lot to be desired. I finally just couldn't deal with the constant problems and moved on to another way of cleaning my pool. I would highly recommend Eric for a pool inspection; but can't say the same for anything else that Guiton's offers. read more

In the winter of 2013-2014 we payed $400+ for a new heater for our hot tub, their service tech Eric did a great job. In late 2014 we needed a leak fixed on one of the jets. Once again Eric came out and fixed the leak by replacing the jet housing. Eric fixed the leak but we could not use the hot tub because our old jet body was too big for the jet housing he installed, and there was no back pressure to actually move the water through the jets with 1 jet body missing. Called in December for a request to have it fixed. No one called us or came to fix it. I called in January and talked to Aaron and he asked to have my husband bring in the old jet, he took it in and Aaron basically told him it was his problem. I called in February and talked to Rick, Rick looked up the work order and asked if he could call me back, I said please do, no return call. I called again in June and I talked to Rick and I asked him if we were black listed and he apologized and said he would definitely get to the bottom of this and get someone out to fix it. I told him we had another jet leaking and needed it replaced also. Well, no one ever called back. In July we loaded up the Phoenix Spa and took it to the dump. Thanks for nothing Guiton, you people are not very customer service oriented. read more

I was very impressed with the service Mike has given us today. He listened to my concerns and took care of everything. He put my mind at ease about our pool and ensured that our pump was in good working order. Guiton built our pool in 2009 and we have had excellent service for all those years. read more

These guys are absolutely great! Every time I have needed help on trying to figure out what to do about my pool these guys always give me good advice. If you buy your products from them they will do a computer analysis for you on your pool water. Very impressed with the level of customer service. I give them 4 stars for overall great customer service but some products are priced pretty high. read more

Poorly managed company, will never use again. === We recently had one of your techs out to do some repairs on our pool system. The repairs failed within 1 day and your technician came back a third time to fix it. After this, he left a voicemail stating that someone had been in the backyard and "kicked" the unit. I can assure you that between the time he left the time before and the time he returned, no one had gone in the pool area. We rarely go back to that part of the yard at this time of the year. The more likely explanation is that he didn't do an adequate job and then tried to blame someone else. I'm not sure of your technician's name, but he is shifty-eyed and comes off as untrustworthy. You may not like hearing this feedback but you should hear it. He does not represent your company professionally. I'm asking for a refund of the third visit which was unnecessary and due to poor workmanship. Please advise. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by just how fantastic of a pool company Guiton's is. We had them put a pool in for us last summer and Guiton's was professional, communicative and did high quality work throughout the process. We are really happy with our pool and the work Guiton's did. They were a little behind on the schedule, but we understood that they had a few big projects going on at once so were a bit overloaded. Still they were very good at communicating schedule updates when they occurred. And they did high quality work and put our pool in by the end of summer and its beautiful. We started last spring with Travis who helped us design a pool for our backyard. We went back and forth with Travis tweaking the design until we had it looking good on paper. Travis was helpful, creative and patient throughout this process. Then, that summer, Guiton's began the process of excavating, rebar, gunite, decking, plaster and installing pool equipment. Each one of these steps is handled by a different crew. It was amazing how each crew was hard working and quality focused. They paid attention to detail by following the drawn plans. They paid attention to quality because it seemed to be part of the company's culture. They were careful not to damage our house or our property and kept the area clean while they worked. Our pool required all of the access to the backyard be down through a narrow 4 foot gap in the fence next to our house. They had plenty of materials and equipment passing through this area and I always noticed how conscientiously careful they were not to hit our house. They never did hit or damage anything or leave a mess for that matter. Mark on the decking crew was also amazing, always working, paying attention to detail and quality and often coming over by himself to work on this or that. Cindi in the office was our contact point for the schedule status and next steps and she was very good at always letting us know what was going on and answering any questions that we had. Now our pool is a reality and its beautiful. Our back yard has been transformed into a paradise. To summarize, Guiton's is extremely experienced and are quality focused throughout the organization. if you need a pool designed and installed in the Shasta County area, Guiton's is the best company for that. read more

The quality of our pool and deck construction, courtesy of the construction crew and aftercare service employees plus the creative pool design makes the process a delightful experience. For the first time buying a pool we decided to go with them. Well first off all they do is sell the pool they dont do anything else,ground leveling sand is all up to you or find a contractor to do it. Then expect to pay another $2500 to have it installed and put together. The installers decided to use the fire hydrant in front so now i have dirt and sand in my pool. Had it for 3 days and my pool looks like shit havent even got to swim in it. Now we have to spend more then normal just to clean it out. Total bad experiance wish i went somewhere else. read more
