World Market is one of my favorite stores. This place truly has everything. As someone who is passionate about world travel, it is awesome to be able to purchase some of our favorite food and drink that we first discovered abroad. We have a couple of go-to items every visit: Ruffino wine that we originally had in Italy, and Rittersport chocolate that we originally found in Germany. Other German delights include imported radlers of different flavors and spaetzle noodles. I'm a sucker for their candles, hand cream, and all things home decor. This is hands down the most perfect place to put together a gift for someone. They have a beautiful collection of cards and stationery, even cards that contain flower seeds and are actually plantable! I also love grabbing something fun like red velvet pancake mix or a bottle of watermelon wine. There is something for everyone at World Market and you could spend hours here if your heart desired! read more

Love the store. Customer service is lacking. My friends went in to shop & were accosted by an employee, slandering my name & attempting to cohort them into the same. Several times my friends told her "we don't know you leave us alone you're making us uncomfortable". Only when they let her know They would be relaying the message to me did she stop. Newsflash!!! Girls check out the winter scarves at Cost Plus before they are all gone. Scarves at Cost Plus you say? Yes and I got me a sweet one yesterday for 19.99! Plus they have these handmade tile wall hangings on clearance for 4.99, they're beautiful (got 3 of those). Also, right now if you sign up with your email and phone number (at the store)you'll automatically get discounts on certain items you purchase. Kinda like a Safeway card. Cost Plus World Market in Redding has the very best selction of wines and beers! Iv'e been to Liquor Barn, and all the others. Alan (the beverage manager at World Market) is an expert on wines- in fact he is a University Course instructor! He does not have the largest beer selection in town, but he does have the best! When it comes to specialty Belgian Beers, Alan has made sure that his store has what no one else in Redding has. Plus, the gourmet food section right next to the beer and wine section is awesome! I don't even usually write reviews an things like this, but I have been so impressed with that wine guy Alan there. I wanted a nice bottle for Valentines and got a Spanish wine from the "special case" there for $35. My husband knows alot about wine (grew up in Napa!) but this guy's off the charts! He was so right on, that wine my hubby had never even heard of, did taste like a $100 bottle! (Just like Alan said!) So went there again for Easter wines & again his suggestions were perfect! A little bit of home out in the sticks... I grew up in Oakland and Cost+ has been there since I was a kid. It's definitely "grown up" into a chic import store from a cheap import store-- but you can't stop progress. Or at least you can't stop yuppies from shopping at your hippie store! I purchased 12 bottles of wine here inclulding a bottle of wine for $14.95 and opened it a couple of months later. It was bad. I took it back to the store and the cashier and manager both told me that they would not make it good because I did not have the receipt. However, the bottle did have their price sticker on it. This is a TERRIBLE policy. Do they really expect someone to keep a receipt for every bottle of wine they buy. We got a live-edge dining table and six chairs, as well as eight wood shelves here, and we love them! Karen, one of the managers there, helped us save even more than the already discounted price through their Explorer program, so we were very happy with the prices. We had to order everything, and when we had issues with the items coming in on time, Karen helped us with that. We also had issues with two of the dining chairs, and Karen helped us by switching out the chair legs we had issues with to get new ones, while we were in the store, so we didn't have to wait for new ones to be ordered. Great service! Everyone we've dealt with there has been friendly and helpful. We got some place mats and other decor items as well, and we enjoy getting international food items here, too. How refreshing to walk into a store and be greeted by friendly employees who won't pester you! I feel free to meander through the store, pleasant music playing and helpful employees when I need them! I can easily spend an hour strolling the aisles find exactly the right gifts I need, and a new taste treat for myself! Hats off for the great service and wonderful, unusual products!
