After a very long surgery and a laundry list of post operative care, we were required to find and buy a couch that was leather or some other smooth material to ensure our dog could live safely in our home. We were short on time and needed something stat. Immediately upon pulling into the parking lot, it was very clear that this was an established, family owned and operated business. The property outside was impeccably maintained, and the exterior of the building was beautiful. They had a series of signs in the window in favor of helping animals in need, supporting american business, and supporting first responders. We were extremely pleased to see this all and I had a feeling before walking inside that this is a store you visit through out your lifetime for ALL your furniture needs, not just a one and done visit. We were immediately greeted by the cutest Cavapoo, Luna, and a friendly man and woman. Todd immediately and naturally conversed with us and very, VERY quickly identified what we were looking for through genuine interest. During the sales process, the one thing that I appreciated the most was his honest expertise about different fabrics or materials. He was extremely knowledgeable and very efficiently went through the different features of the sofa we were most interested in and different purchasing options. He took into account and addressed various factors that go into what makes furniture comfortable - height differences, weight differences, torso to leg ratio, longevity, color, factors that wear down materials, etc etc. I could go on and on how amazing the shopping process was with Todd. He made sure to give a plethora of information without making us feel like we were sitting there for a long time or listening to a long lecture. The value of the sofa we ended up purchasing - we felt good about. Being a family operated business with high quality american materials, their prices are a little higher. My husband and I were quite comfortable spending a little more to ensure our money was not going overseas or into a worse quality item. We were also super happy to pay a little more to support their business philosophies and values. Their sofas have great warranties and since it's backed by an independent business, it's very clear Oak Tree will work with you to ensure they stand behind their pieces. We ended up getting a FANTASTIC couch that will allow our dog to safely in our home while providing maximum comfort for us and checking all of our boxes. They dragged it out long enough making me think they'd fix the problem, so that I could not file anything with my credit card for fraud. He helped me finance my dream couch and was patient with the entire process of me sitting on the couch for an hour deciding if it was THE ONE. Every step of the purchase from the financing to the delivery was easy and effortless on my end. Christian was easy to get ahold of, responded extremely timely to any questions I had, and my couch came a month early! After one week of enjoying the new couch, there was an incident that caused the fabric on a cushion to snag and fray. I again, contacted Christian and within minutes he was able to provide me with protection plan info and gave me all the info I needed to file the claim to get the cushion fixed! Be very careful ordering from this store (Redding, CA)…read more We ordered a sectional and one of the pieces came damaged. The delivery driver stated we could not refuse delivery (they would not take it back with them), and that we needed to contact Ashley to get a replacement piece. We've been going through that process for 3 weeks now and have not gotten any resolution on it yet, they are now asking for more pictures (even after the delivery driver took pictures). I finally called the store today and the manager asked if I refused delivery? I stated that your subcontractor (for delivery) told me that I could not refuse delivery and that I needed to go through customer service. At that point I realized something was off. Funny enough, I have a ring camera setup inside to record our Scottish Fold cats (for my wife's Cattery business), and it's high on a shelf but it captures the whole living room area and the audio is surprisingly good. I let the manager know that I do have the delivery on video including the part where I open the piece and see the damage, and when they tell me I cannot refuse delivery. If this is in violation of Ashley corporate policy I believe this could be a legal issue. Really though I don't want to press it, I just want a new piece to replace the one that is damaged. He said the process would be to send someone out to see if they could fix it. It seems quite ridiculous to me that they could deliver something that is "new", that's damaged and not replace it with something that is new and undamaged. That Ashley would consider just fixing something that is damaged rather than automatically replacing it with something that is new and undamaged tells you really all you need to know I think about them as a company. I don't live by an RC Willey anymore, but I had an issue with something that came damaged by them before and they replaced it with a new item no questions asked. So do what you like ordering from them, they do have decent furniture for the price when it's not damaged, but know your rights and do refuse delivery, even if the subcontractors they hire to deliver provide you misinformation (or outright lie, depending upon what they have been told they are able to do). I have more pictures but I got one without the delivery driver's face in it here for privacy reasons (live photos is so nice, thanks Apple), but there is also some of the internal wood cracked and more other damage. It still works, but when you're paying for something new to come out of the packaging like this it's very disappointing. Ken
