On a different note, my in-store experiences were less enjoyable. I tried to buy an inexpensive phone because mine was stolen. I still can't get it activated and it was supposed to be activated at the register. Also, it was my second time around with the same phone, because the first time was incomplete. Although I entered the store with more than 50% battery power, I soon discovered that it was draining quickly because of a malware problem. However, during checkout I was transferred from the phone counter to the front of the store because they were about to close. So, at 4% bp I had to waste the majority of what was left traveling to the front of the store. But once I reached the register, I was advised to turn off the phone while I was being rung up a second time. When I turned it on again, I was unable to get to the wallet on my phone in time to make the purchase and they kicked me out instead of helping me. So, in my opinion, they were part of the problem rather than the solution and didn't meet their responsibility to make it right. I believe It would have been better if the first guy had been more helpful and less concerned about his own issues with time management or whatever. In conclusion, I don't, like some of the employees who are here. But I do like that I am able to feed my doggy. To me that's the highest priority. Pettiness is better left to the less competent crowd.

Tractor Supply tried to "pinch hit," for us--but since TSC was only about one-third the square footage of the Douglas County Farmers Co-op, there's just no way for TSC to match the vast selection of Douglas County Farmers Co-op's True Value Hardware items, clothing, boots, shoes, animal feed, veterinary supplies & medications, garden, yard, home & landscaping supply, logging, irrigation, submersible pumps for wells, and much more--"well," you get the idea..... I was thrilled to find out that Grange Co-op has just expanded to Redding (from the 6 locations they have in Southern Oregon, plus Yuba City, CA). Grange is larger than Tractor Supply, although not as large as the DC Farmers Co-op. I got great help yesterday, when I was out looking at some fencing, stock watering tanks, and tomato cages in their secure storage yard at the parking lot in front of the store. A couple of the items were not price marked yet, so a Grange employee tried to look up the prices on the "Grange App" on his cellphone, but needed to run into the store to find out the information. He was cheerful, energetic, and willing to go "above & beyond" the usual levels of service (running from outside into the store, then back outside again in the 90+ degrees Fahrenheit Redding weather). Because of our family's previous membership in the DC Farmers Co-op, we got a nice discount to sign up for their lifetime membership plan. We are very happy!

The staff seem like they know what they're doing ... at least for Amazon returns. As for the rest of Kohl's ... I really don't have any shopping to do here. Every once in awhile I'll get something like a t-shirt on sale for like $5.00 or something. It's a very clean store. The parking is easy and I noticed they have a ton of handicap parking if that's what you need.

Be careful what you buy at Kohls.com. Employees have no idea how to process an on-line return. It will take a minimum of four employees, and A LOT OF TIME to get it resolved. Hopefully, this Redding store will be the next to close.

You wouldn't think a bargain discount grocery store would even sell Wagyu beef. My Grocery Outlet in Red Bluff is on the south end of town and since I was headed north to Redding, this location in Anderson about half way to Redding was a better choice. The GPS got me here just fine. It's right off the 5 freeway so easy freeway access. Take the Factory Outlet exit from the south, go thru the roundie boutie thingy and go under the freeway. It's on the left. The store is big and clean and seemed well organized. It was easy to find the meat area. I found they also have Kobe beef hamburger meat as well as the Wagyu I was looking for. The price was about half what fancy grocery stores or meat stores are selling ground Wagyu beef for. Checking the expiration dates, it was still good for 2 weeks, so that's all good. Check out was easy, they take all the normal credit cards. When I got to my friends place, we only used the Wagyu pack and made two 1/2 pound burgers out of the 1 pound pack. He grilled them on his gas grill and wow, I gotta say, I never had a Wagyu burger before, and this was just about the tastiest burger I ever had! I mean the meat was very beefy and charred perfect on the grill. The package didn't say what the meat to fat ration was, but it seemed about 20% fat to 80% meat, which is the best for making burgers. I'm sold on this meat for the low price, I'm stopping back and getting more and freeze some for later.

I don't recall the new merchandise part (I skipped over the clothing sections, so maybe it's there?), and I don't completely think it's upscale because the pricing was so good (but definitely upscale compared to regular thrift stores bc of organization, cleanliness, and visual / merchandising displays), but the rest of that description is spot on. Also apparently they have events...?! i receive their text updates and received this "Join us in Redding for our yard art event. Make flowers, fairy gardens, or mosaic pieces. Supplies are low-cost, and we'll have snacks & drinks!" That's so awesome! I highly recommend giving them a visit!

I'll be sticking with CostCo from now on to purchase what I need, more of a variety, better quality, and priced more reasonably, even WITH the membership fee.
