They never finished the installation. Expensive. Inept. Unresponsive. They also sell firewood. Don't fall for that either.

Emilio and his father came to my property to give me an estimate and talk about my project. Emilio…read morewas friendly but it seemed he and his father had a strained relationship. Dad had been in the business a while and Emilio was getting his feet wet and aspiring to get his contractor license. We thought we would take a chance on them as it was a short wait until Emilio would be licensed. Emilio stopped communicating with us. He achieved his goal of getting his contractors license so I reached out again. Nothing. Fast forward to now time. I figured they could've worked the kinks out by now so I emailed him and sent a Yelp request. My answer...? Crickets. Nothing. I guess he doesn't need my business even though I was willing to take a chance on him when he was aspiring g to be a pool contractor. I hope he figures it out because he seemed like a good kid.

I'm a pretty demanding customer. I ask a lot of questions, I want to understand what's being done…read moreand why, and I don't just write checks without knowing what I'm paying for. I have one of the largest pools in Eastridge Hills (31K gallons)...just moved in a year ago so things were a bit tricky. Emilio handled all of it like a pro. He's the REAL DEAL (I.dont.leave.reviews.!). He came out to assess our pool/spa system, explained clearly why the existing control board wasn't compatible with our equipment, and walked me through the options WITHOUT upselling me. We went with the AquaLink upgrade! System works beautifully. Everything's connected to the app, equipment is programmed, and he demonstrated it all before collecting a single dollar. Honest, knowledgeable, patient with a lot of questions, and genuinely good at his craft. If you've got a pool or spa in the area, don't overthink it -- call Emilio. -- Dave B., Fairfield CA - Eastridge Hills

Brian, the owner, is professional, honest, and an excellent plumber…read more I first called another plumber in Mt. Shasta who was recommended to me and left an urgent voice message for them to call me back. I'm still waiting for their call! When I read the reviews for Brian, I decided to give him a call. I could tell right away that I was talking with a professional, which was a huge relief, because I was in Los Angeles and my townhouse was leaking in Mt. Shasta! Brian went out to my place the next day and he was able to determine the source of the leaking, which was not immediately obvious. The HOA maintenance person had called a handyman to check it out but he could not determine the cause of the leak. Brian called me right away and communicated the issue very clearly. It was obvious that he knew his job well. Brian could have ripped out kitchen cabinets to get to the problem but he figured out how to access the leak via an outside wall, thereby causing the least amount of disruption to my tenant and me. I had a suspicion that the plumbers who worked on my townhouse while it was in escrow, did a sloppy job. During the escrow process the pipes had frozen and flooded the whole first floor. My neighbors living room also got flooded. Brian confirmed my suspicions; he saw that the pipes were not properly installed nor properly insulated, which caused them to freeze again and break. Brian went the extra step of leaving the wall open over the weekend to ensure that everything was dry before he closed up the wall. He also put some bleach in the area to ensure that no mold would form. Brian is amazing! He is an honest plumber. He charged me a very fair price and he fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. He was definitely worth the $85 initial fee to come out because this was credited to the repairs. I will definitely recommend Brian of Mt. Shasta Plumbing, over and over again to everyone.

Double S Construction - Improper flooring installation

Double S Construction

I am the current owner of the home where this contractor performed remodel work. The workmanship…read morewas extremely poor -- multiple installations were done incorrectly and below professional standards. The bathtub faucet was installed without proper bracing or support. It has repeatedly loosened and leaked. Even after they returned and claimed to fix it, the problem continued. When the issue was raised, they blamed the homeowners instead of admitting the defective installation. That response was dishonest and unprofessional. A local licensed contractor with over 20 years of experience reviewed the faucet installation and stated he had never seen one installed that way and called it unacceptable. In addition, the flooring was not properly supported. The locking tabs are now breaking and sections of the floor are failing. There were other incomplete and incorrect items as well. Overall, the workmanship was substandard and the handling of the problems was dishonest. I do not recommend this contractor. Update: The contractor has replied by claiming I am not the homeowner and that the photos show damage caused by the occupants. I am the current owner of the property -- the title is in my name. The issues shown (including the improperly braced faucet that has continued to leak and the flooring failures) are workmanship problems with the installation, not damage caused by the occupants. This issues began days to weeks after completion and all the pictures are from his recently completed installations with issues resulting from his poor workmanship.

Called Double S to see if they could fix an issue with the roofs drip edge on a rental property…read more spoke to Nick and he said he could take a look sometime during the week. Never heard from him that week. The following week I followed up via text and he responded saying he could go that very day. I thought great it will be looked at. No one ever showed up, there was no call or text saying they couldn't make it. If you don't want the job just say so, quit wasting people's time. Update: Just after I posted my review I got a call from Double S. They said someone did go out to look at the job on Tuesday, Sept. 1st. Here is a timeline of my contacts with Double S, the initial call and text was in August 26, at that time he said he could check the issue out that week, never heard back from him. I followed up with a text on Sept. 1st, he said they would look at it that day. I immediately let my tenant know someone would be out that day to look at the roof. On Sept. 1st and on Sept. 2nd I never got any communication back from Double S. I checked with my tenant and asked them if anyone had gone to the property, they said no. Therefore, today, Sept. 3rd I posted a one star review. When double S called me to complain about my review they said they hadn't had time to write up an estimate and it's been raining. Ok, I get that but wouldn't it have been reasonable to either call or text me on Sept 1st or Sept. 2nd saying they looked at the job and would follow up with an estimate at some point? Just a lack of poor communication.
