1 lb shrimp
Reena G.

We went here for a late lunch. It wasn't as packed. We started off with fried pickles. These were really good and had a kick to them. Of course we came for some shrimp. We ordered two different flavors. The Blu Crab Special season was my favorite which is all the seasons combined. The garlic butter was good but I'll definitely order the Blu Crab season again. Our service was really slow and not as attentive but we had a good time. Will definitely come back for more shrimp!

Solid 3.5 to be exact. Food was alright, service was great, prices were great especially the drinks! Our server was amazing! I'd give this restaurant an extra star for the service and the restaurant decor was perfect for a seafood joint with country music playing in the background. Reminds me a bit of Nashville except we're eating seafood. Bloody Mary was good and only $4! We ordered a lb of crawfish and a lb of blue crab in hot garlic butter. Very flavorful but nothing spectacular as far as the taste and quality. Crawfish is currently out of season so it tasted as you would expect from out of season frozen crawfish. Blue Crabs were on the drier end but good. The location is very close to where we live so we'll have to come back when it's crawfish season.

Everything was excellent!! Was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was very well seasoned.

I have driven by this restaurant so many times that I just had to try it bc they boast of having actual blue crabs. The menu was the same as most other crab places I've visited, but what set it apart was an Eastcoast delicacy called Blue Crab. This east coast staple is very hard to come by as most crab places always sell snow, king, Dungeness crab legs. For the record, those of us from the east coast know we just don't eat the legs, the sweetest meat is in the body! Well I was dissatisfied and quite disappointed at the soft shell of the blue crab that served. Not only was the meat over cooked, I asked for garlic butter and all I can say is it was like someone dumped a huge can of minced garlic all over the corn, potato, and crab legs and the split blue crab. You couldn't taste any flavor at all. I had high expectations walking in. However, the concept of a crab boil from the Blue Crab was doused. I'm not sure what the chef/cook thought or how he/she was trained, but who overcooks crab? My crab puffs appetizer was way over cooked and were burnt. Best thing of the night was the mozzarella sticks appetizer. Thinking the food was going to be great, I over spent for mediocre at best seafood. Next time I'll drive all the way to Grand Prairie or Arlington to get better crab. I'll have to settle for not getting blue crabs until I can get home to Maryland!!

Ok sooo where do I start with this place. (Update: forgot to mention they do use paper straws so good for them) They are trying their best that's for sure but is it enough? The service: services was pretty good. Everyone was more then pleasant. Very kind and sweet as well as attentive for our needs. The place: I like the new change. It used to be Lin's garden or place I forget but it the new make over was much needed. However they are missing the automatic hand cleaner most crab boils have as well as my table ran out of napkins early into the meal and took a minute to get more. We had only been offered one refill the time we were there. The price at it price point we think it was pretty normal considering it is seafood and it tends to be pricy. With that being said the other "error " made me think why did I spend 70 dollars for 2 people at this place. The food : l was surprised ( not in a good way) that we were given paper plates to eat and keep our trash in. This was already troublesome as the food well over filled the 3 paper plates we were given. Once revived ( I had ordered a combo A that has crab and shrimp and lobster ( they were out if lobster) . We ordered the extra hot Louisiana seasoning. It did taste like other places but it was definitely not hot. I chalk that up to me eating lots of spicy food. First think I checked was the potatoes and shrimp to see if they were over done. It looks like they learned from past experiences cause they where just right. However everything has a weird taste to it like if it was previously frozen. I went ahead and asked and other then the blue crab everything was. For its price I expect fresh seafood. I finish the plate but not impressed with the taste. Overall: this place saving grace was the service. Without the kind people working there I would have been extremely disappointed even mad to be honest. I understand this place is new but they need to make lots of changes to maintain customers. To the owner please improve and I will be glade to review the place again. Till then though you are 6 min from my house I will not be returning. Also please get a proper paper towel dispenser for the bathroom I don't want to manually roll paper towel after washing my hands with everyone else also touching it..

Overpriced, small portions, music too loud, waitress inaudible. It makes Red Lobster look like inexpensive fast food.

Flavors for the seafood combos were great but not worth the price. Didn't get my moneys worth for the "lb" of crab legs.

(English down below)…read more Saliendo del aeropuerto DFW, busqué algún restaurante que tuviera sopa de mariscos; no sé de dónde vino el antojo. Digo yo... no sé. Mejorar estos dos detalles llevaría la experiencia en El Viejón a otro nivel. ¡El Viejón, recomendadísimo! ------------------------------------- Leaving DFW airport, I found myself craving seafood soup--no idea where the craving came from. I searched for nearby options and El Viejón came up. I checked the online menu and reviews, then drove 13 minutes, only to discover a real gem. What I loved: The service was excellent. Nidia took care of us--she was not only kind, but also attentive and efficient. Adolfo, the manager, is a great guy. The simple but important things: Their plastic cups are surprisingly original. The menu is simple and humorous. Prices are fair for the generous portions they serve. What truly impressed me: The seafood soup. This kind of soup is simple: either you know how to make it, or you don't--and when you don't, it ends up like the one at Pappadeaux... something to cry about. This one, however, is loaded with seafood (crab, clams, octopus, fish, shrimp, squid, etc.). It has a subtle sweetness, and you can taste every distinct note. Highly recommended. One soup is more than enough for one person. I learned that lesson too late--after also ordering the grilled octopus. I had to get it to go because it was simply too much food. My only two complaints: The tostadas they serve come with chicken that looks like tuna but tastes like plastic. My dog was with me and wouldn't even eat it--which says a lot. Very strange. The other issue is the music: too loud and all from the same genre. If the goal is to honor Mexican culture, there are so many genres to choose from. Just saying--I don't know. Fixing these two things would take the experience at El Viejón to another level. El Viejón--highly recommended.

A second, dine-in visit provided more reasons NOT to return than to return:…read more - Prices for most things are far too high when considering location and ambiance--I mean we're not talking "fine dining". - Margarita prices are very vague and I was passed a "tequila menu" to choose from. Confused, I chose one of the cheaper options only to find out after getting bill that my margarita was $18.95! Is this Via Real?!? If so, take some lessons from them on how to make a quality margarita since this one was not $18.95 material. - 3% service charge over posted prices for using a credit card. Didn't realize that on last visit. You do that, you're telling me you never want me to return. Food was good. Just not THAT good. I will say that the entree I received was large enough for 2, which would have made the $27.50 more reasonable. But if that's the intent, mention it on the menu. But I'm not sharing a nearly $25 margarita (after tax, tip and service charge).

Service rhythm was good. However, everyone at the table was from Louisiana and the server couldn't tell us what was used in the "Cajun" spices on the French Chicken. You'd think that would be a basic training lesson and menu knowledge you'd have to grasp before being given a section. Don't put vague descriptions in print if your staff can't break them down when the guest asks questions. On a side note, I know for a fact that this company requires all their managers to be clean shaven. Yet, I saw a cook/chef with a fairly thick, quasi-biker beard working the line in an open kitchen in clear view of guests. Kind of ironic. I'd rather the dude making my food be clean shaven for obvious reasons. Unlikely that I return.

And when you combine this with the beautiful spring weather in Texas (March), it's one of the best experiences in all of DFW. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - If you haven't been to Water Street, go now while the weather is nice (March or October). I'm writing this review in March when the Texas weather is beautiful. While the inside of Pacific Table is elegant with blue booths and white tablecloths, the outdoor seating next to Lake Carolyn creates a view that's almost impossible to find in DFW: fine dining by the water. 1 Star. Service - The service is great. Our server was attentive, helpful, and best of all shared the special of the day. I always ask my server because when they recommend an excellent dish, it means the restaurant puts in the effort to enable them. Mission accomplished. 1 Star. Food - I went with Pacific Table's special of the day: blackened redfish with creole sauce and a vegetable. WOW. This dish was a homerun. The fish was tender, well-seasoned, and the sauce added a creamy component that reminded me of the bayou. As a bonus, my sauteed spinach that I chose as my side was equally delicious. If I wasn't dining in public, I would have licked my plate. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Every time I eat at Pacific Table, I try something new and am pleasantly surprised. The combination of service, specials, and amazing Texas spring weather makes this a repeatable restaurant in my rotation. 1 Star.

The roll was toasted well but the lobster was underwhelming. It was bland. I wish there were also bigger pieces of lobster meat.
