Good dessert coffee place with a lot of options. Banana latte was good but very sweet. Lots of matcha, ube, and Asian flavour options. Place can be pretty crowded. They also sell pastries and desserts that look delicious. Ambience is cafeteria style like any bubble tea shop

Nice cafe! Loved that they were accepting of the Broadcast collab to do a fan cafe for IVE! They took good care of us and made their orders with care

Blu Shaak Coffee located along Yonge St. near Isabella St. is a popular Korean coffee chain that originated from Busan, South Korea. This is their first Canadian location in Toronto. Their cafes are known to be minimalistic and simple where the logo is blue in colour, like a wave or a surf fin - which evokes feelings of refreshing rest and warm meetings. They also roast and use their own coffee beans in their drinks. Currently, their first Toronto store is in it's soft opening phase. I stopped by Blu Shaak Coffee on a Tues afternoon to check out their coffee. The store is small where there is seating for about 10-15 people. All the seats were taken when I went. Staff indicated that I could order via the kiosk or in person with them. Menu wise, there is a large selection of drink options - the Shaak Latte and Shaak Matcha (matcha is from Jeju in Korea!) being their signature drinks. They also have your usual espresso based drinks (some unique ones including peach iced tea with espresso, cinnamon cafe latte, and the white americano), bubble tea, teas, a large selection of other beverages (such as the toffee nut latte, sweet potato, Lemon Yuja tea, Valrhona chocolate, etc.), as well as blended drinks (smoothies, frapps, etc.). They also have baked goods like macarons, caneles, financiers, cookies, scones and donuts as well. I ordered via the kiosk where I decided to get a Shaak Latte (one of their signature drinks which give off a savoury taste by blending of rich espresso, savory milk, and Blu Shaak cream). This drink is cold. My order didn't take long to make and staff handed me my drink, suggesting how I should try it. I took a few sips in the store and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the Shaak Latte tasted! The Blu Shaak cream wasn't too sweet and it blended so well with the rich espresso they used. The size of the cup is also not big but I prefer it that way where the portions of all the ingredients work well together. Staff also were appreciative and happy that I enjoyed the signature drink as well. Overall, a great new Korean coffee chain in Toronto. I will definitely be back for that Shaak Latte again!!

We ordered two 1L of Matcha Latte and Mango Latte, which comes out around $30 included tax so I would say it costs roughly $15 for one. It's not too bad given that they give you a 1L bottle of drinks. However, the matcha latte isn't quite a latte but rather matcha flavored milk taste. It's quite diluted and the matcha powder wasn't that great. We ordered regular milk for both but for the matcha, the powder made it tastes a little bit funky. The mango latte is OK, nothing too special or crazy about but to compare to the matcha, it definitely has much flavors. There was mango bits in it so it was funny to chew. Except for the aesthetic posts online, this shouldn't be too hyped

Blu Shaak is a newish cafe around Bloor-Yonge. They advertise as being a popular chain in Korea, but nobody in our group of Koreans recalled ever seeing it in Seoul. Maybe it's more of a southern-region thing? Service was efficient, and seemed like they already have some regulars. Ordering is through a self-serve kiosk. Interior was a nice, clean white-blue scheme, with a couple of tables to sit at. Now onto the coffee... the prices are a bit on the higher side, but I couldn't say the quality is there. Maybe their sugary drinks are better? I had a white americano and my friend had a matcha latte (comes with a shot of espresso). The americano was plain. The matcha latte was actually quite bad. The matcha was unpleasantly grainy and grassy, perhaps more like green tea powder rather than fine matcha. Unsure if I'll be back, especially given the various coffee/matcha options now available downtown.

This coffee shop went viral on Instagram. This brand is originally from Korea and recently they opened a location at Bay. My friends and I went there at 3:30pm and it was very busy. The coffee shop has a few tables and two self-service kiosk machines. The service was quick. I ordered matcha coffee latte and my friends ordered matcha latte. We don't really like the matcha taste, it was so different from what we have normally. We also ordered the strawberry short cake, we like the cake, it was so creamy and the cake was soft. But overall, I think it is a little bit overrated.

You walk up a goldcolored hallway and 2 flights of stairs before reaching the restaurant. The host stand is farther inside.....which will make sense once you are physically in the space. The workers were very friendly and funny. I had a great time bantering with them. My friend from 8th grade and I reunited for the first time in 21 years over dinner. This was one of her picks, and I am deeply grateful she chose it. Appetizers: Rock Shrimp, Fatty Tuna Nigiri, Crispy Rice Tuna Entrée: Jidori Chicken Drinks: Sangria, Champagne Dessert: Yuzu Citrus The rock shrimp was delicious. We loved the sauce it was tossed in. My friend is not usually a shrimp fan but she polished it off for me. The fatty tuna nigiri was great, as expected, and the crispy rice tuna was phenomenal. The Jidori chicken was delightful. We loved the sauce, and the mashed potatoes were pillowy. I did not have the sangria but my friend said it was the best she had ever had. The yuzu citrus dessert came with strawberry gelato and cookie crumbs. The gelato was not overly sweet and the yuzu was perfectly tart. They also put a little "Reunited" note on the dessert plate, which we both thought was such a sweet touch. Definitely pricey, but definitely worth it. Recommended it to my Toronto friends, I really want to go back and get that king crab rice.

The staff helped us through the menu and gave us recommendations, and was so kind and fun to chat with! I had gotten the chicken katsu and my friend the beef tartar bibimbap. Both came with amazing portions and we had food to spare. The katsu was perfectly crispy, and the house made sauce was perfectly seasoned and amazing! It also came with apples and salad on the side which was a perfect pallet cleanser. The bibimbap had a great variety of toppings and everything was seasoned well. When thoroughly mixed, everything bite had a bit of everything and it was delicious. On top of the food u get when you order, the meal also comes with 6 different sides. There was 3 different kimchi, braised potatoes and 2 others that I'm not sure what they are, but they were delicious. My favourite was the potatoes and kimchi! Overall this is an amazing place to bring those close to you for delicious korean food!

Hence we entered Jin Dai Lae. Good decision (yes, I am patting my back). Entree pricing was $3 to $4 lower than Markham/Richmond Hill. Portion was so big that you would be full, and might have to doggy bag. Most importantly, food tasted good. Short ribs stew had many pieces of beef. Squids hot plate was saucy. It wasn't too spicy, so it was good for me (menu didn't have a chilli sign either). For people who like it hot, you can ask for some chilli sauce.
