The gentleman in the truck provided amazing service when it came to choosing which of the treats to select. Their food truck brought so much joy to those that approached. On Sunday's I like to drive to new places to try their food. So I looked up doughnut shops and found Blondies and it has strong reviews. So I didn't mind driving the hour to try it out. . My order consisted of 1 breakfast sandwich, 4 doughnuts and a coffee which totaled $32. The breakfast sandwich was nice but did lack some flavor, could have used some salt and pepper so sure. But all in all a good sandwich. I ordered Bmore cream, strawberry cheesecake, nanna pudding and cookies and cream. The nanna pudding was my favorite of the 4. The only criticism is I feel it could have used more pudding. I took 4 bites before I hit the pudding. However with that being said, the doughnut itself was awesome. I love nanna flavored food and this dough totally hit the mark. Bmore cream was my next favorite. Totally loved the pastry part and the chocolate was amazing. The cookies and cream was ok and the strawberry cream cheese to me was just ok. I can definitely appreciate the value of these pastries and it's not at all like traditional donuts from dunkin. It's definitely a once in a while place for me. But if you live close buy it well worth going there. Now let's talk about the service. I arrived there around 950 and the shop wasn't that busy. When I walked in there was one cashier taking orders and a barista making coffees. The barista saw me come and I wasn't greeted. I got into line and placed my order. The coffee took about 10 mts to get and then the sandwich came out a little after that. In my opinion if this place was busy the barista would be the slowest part of the process. I would have scored this place higher if I had been acknowledged entering and if the sandwich and coffee didn't take so long to get. read more

One of my favorite questions to ask my husband is for his top three donut shops in the DMV. We've been to them all, we've sought out bakeries, dedicated donut shops, places that may only have one or two donuts among a wide array of offerings...but we're always looking for what we consider the best. And always interested in the donut vs. doughnut divide. One doughnut in, I was pretty sure Blondie's was in contention for one of my top three. By my third donut, it was decided. We drove to the Maple Lawn farmers market (closed early November for the season) to buy some doughnuts. The line hinted that this place had a following. We ordered six doughnuts and headed home. Each doughnut was individually packaged. While my recycling minded self didn't love that, I understand that for cleanliness and ease of sale it's necessary. The dough for the doughnuts was perfect. Airy and flavorful. Each doughnut tasted completely different from the next. I was impressed by the attention to detail, especially on my butter beer doughnut that had multiple components. The frosting, the caramel drizzle, the buttercream frosting, all had distinct tastes! I was blown away by that. The peach cobbler and strawberry crunch were also delicious. This place is on my "go-to" list. Their cinnamon rolls are some of the best I have ever had. I love getting a cinnamon roll from here for a friend and watching their facial expression after their first bite. Everyone who has tried it enjoys it. The brisket sandwich is AMAZING. I've had both the breakfast and lunch version and you can't go wrong either way. The brioche bread they use on the brisket sandwich is made in house and soooooo good. The ultimate sticky bun and grandma's sweet roll were the most sugary, buttery, chewy, sticky pieces of goodness delivered straight from heaven for my indulgent pleasure. Each in their own way, and each equally as amazing as the other. The snickerdoodle and vanilla sprinkle donuts were tasty and fluffy, but the buns stole the show without question. Be sure to order in advance, as this Black-owned bakery sells out preorders a week in advance within hours of posting. Now I see why! The flat $5 delivery charge is clutch too! As a donut lover, I had Blondies's on my list to try for most of the quarantine. The shop had stalls at several farmer's market over the summer. Instead of trying the stall, I ordered a specialty box of donuts from Blondie's for my anniversary. I went on faith, as I had never had the donuts, but if they tasted anything like they looked, I was willing to take the chance. Ordering online was easy, they provide delivery, which I didn't need because I live close by- so I selected a pick up time. The pricing was a bit on the high end at $50, but I was willing to splurge for the occasion. When a timing issue occurred, I was contacted promptly and offered delivery free of charge to accommodate the issue. Businesses will not be without hiccups, but how it's handled truly makes an impact! When the donuts arrived, I was blown away by the design, as I simply communicated an idea and color scheme and it was completely delivered and more! When we finally devoured those donuts, I was so pleased with how soft, fluffy, and delicious they were! Sometimes pretty designs sacrifice taste- but this got it right for both! What a great find!!! The donuts are balanced and not too sweet. The beef brisket sandwich was the best I've EVER had. The staff were so nice and helpful. My sister has food allergies and all her worries were calmed about what she could eat. My only regret is not getting a beverage. Their drink menu looked good. The interior is too cute and had plenty of seating for you to sit and enjoy your order. The bathrooms were clean and cute as well. These were given out recent at an event we attended and they were fantastic. We tried the lemon meringue, a unique and flavor, but quite sweet and heavy. It was my favorite, actually, because the cream was so good, but I'd share with a friend. The s'mores was our least favorite, with a baseline of "we liked all of them and picking favorites is kind of silly". We also tried the strawberry doughnut holes and the chocolate doughnut holes. I could eat that whole box in one sitting. We did have some holes left over for breakfast the next morning and they still tasted fresh. I visited Blondie's Doughnuts after my daughter saw a review on IG. This place did not disappoint. My daughter went in and purchased the Snickerdoodle doughnut. The plan was 2 try just 1 doughnut. Well, one hour, one hundred dollars, 4 doughnuts, 3 sandwiches and 2 cinnabuns later, I want everyone to know I am so happy this place is about an hour away from my house because I would be here everyday even the days when they r closed. The good Lord knows that I am trying to do right and if this place was near, I would be in trouble. Anyway, I ordered the brioche sandwich with the brisket, hashbrown,and egg. The man in the car next to me said his sandwich was delicious (as he did not wait to devour the entire sandwich b4 pulling off). My daughter ordered the sausage, hashbrown and egg. The bread was the best bread I have ever had. The sandwich was delicious! I would have preferred just a little more seasoning, but it was excellent otherwise. The staff were really nice and the place was very clean. I felt that the snickerdoodle doughnut was much better than the other four that I purchased. I purchased the banana pudding, strawberry crunch, strawberry and something else and none of them were as good. BUT let me tell u, that the cinnabuns were EVERYTHING that the doughnuts were not and more. They melted in my mouth on the next day I might add. I kept them in the oven for about 10 mins on 350 while the oven was heating up. I purchased the pralines cinnabun and my daughter the regular cinnabun. They were incredible. I started to wonder what would become of the other buns that were on the counter since Blondie's was only open Weds-Suns and we were there on a Sunday. They had steady business. I gave up sweets for Lent and the night before Easter, I log onto to IG and guess what was in the first post...the Easter pop-up date and location. Naturally, I took this as a sign from Jesus and made my way to the location Sunday morning. I read the menu fully, or so I thought, because I didn't needed a plan before this mission. Was greeted by a friendly guy (who might be an owner) got the Praline Pecan Sweet Roll and made the mistake of inquiring about other flavors. He asked if I like lemon then suggested the Lemon Drop. I agreed before seeing it then didn't want it because it was cream filled which I typically do not like. I bought it because the gentleman told me it's so good I'd want to slap my momma. Y'all...I'm not even going to think about slapping my momma because I choose life BUT that doughnut is delicious. I might now be converted to doughnuts filled with things. I tasted a corner of the sweet roll unheated and it was delicious. I KNOW it's going to make up for these 40 days easily. Now, he also told me they deliver anywhere. Love Love Love! I got the bacon egg and cheese sandwich along with 4 doughnuts and the Blondie's ice latte. My mom got the lunch brisket sandwich. The sandwiches were delightful and reminded us of home. The brisket was cooked to perfection and the bacon wasn't too crunchy or chewy. Doughnuts were delicious, light, fluffy, and, fresh. Definitely get the maple bacon, apple cider, lemon drop, Baltimore cream pie and Grandmas sweet roll. The dough itself is very airy. The icings, flavors and sometimes creme were really rich. I tried this place for the first time today and while I was very excited, I was pretty let down. The staff is incredible and very welcoming, but the food is just not my thing. I love doughnuts, and these reminded of the ones you get from a grocery store. They aren't "airy" if that's your thing. They are very dense and just don't taste very good. First, I am not a huge donut person. These are beyond donuts--they are works of art. If you want cheap, mass produced boring donuts, maybe this is not for you. Head to Dunkin. We had apple spice, snickerdoodle, banana pudding, cookies & cream, apple caramel and crème brûlée. Absolute perfection. Also love that they are African American and woman owned.
