Nat, the onsite Sommelier, has an impressive knowledge of the store's wine selection. Every recommendation he provides is consistently very good to outstanding, always aligning with my budget. He never pressures me to spend more than I'm comfortable with. Nat and the rest of the staff are always a pleasure to interact with and are incredibly helpful whenever I have a question. Edgewater Liquors is my go to store in the area due to their selection of wines, great service, and pricing. I highly recommend it without reservation. read more

After having price checked a bunch of local liquor stores for scotch when I moved into the area 1.5 years ago, I landed at Edgewater Liquors as the cheapest option. Surprisingly, it's also just a great store! Their staff is always friendly and helpful when we ask for a bottle of wine in a price range, and the selection overall for wine, beer, and liquor is absolutely huge. I never go there worrying they don't have something, and they even have a huge walk in fridge where you can pick up cold beer. Great prices, service, and selection are literally the only things I care about for a liquor store and this place delivers. read more

Something has changed at this store. This was my go to store for years - but 3 consecutive bad experiences has lost them a loyal customer. Several weeks ago, I asked if they had a specific item in the back room. 3 employees refused to look. I was told that I had to come back on a different day and that I had to speak to a specific employee if I wanted someone to check the back room. In the past, this was never an issue. On another visit, I went to grab a used box to put my purchases in to. I was told that I couldn't have a box by one employee and then given a box by another employee. On my most recent visit, I again needed a box for my purchases and was told that I couldn't have one...Even though there were several near the registers. Again, getting a box was never an issue in the past. I'm not sure what has changed at this store, but I won't be back. I was a regular customer for over 10 years and will now take my business elsewhere. read more

This is my go-to liquor store! The selection is tremendous, the prices are very competitive, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I've gotten to know a few of the guys there, and they are very eager to help any customer with special requests. Just ask! Definitely go out of my way to shop here. Miss the old location badly, but the new place has the same benefits and much more space. read more

Very wide selection of beer (craft, domestic), wine (fancy, not-so-much) and spirits (wine coolers, slushy stuff) at good prices. The staff is helpful, willing to offer suggestions and friendly. This is where I go when I can't get to Corridor (Laurel, MD). It's a damn good "Plan B" spot. Note: Call ahead to confirm hours of operation. read more

You might say "why review a liquor store??"...Well, I'm a Yelp addict and look for everything on here. But also this place was a lifesaver once I moved. Having come from a larger city, I was used to having options for alcohol. Here in Annapolis, I've had great trouble finding beer that isn't your more obvious choices in a 12 pack. I am not exactly a beer drinker but my reviewing companion is a fan of "fancier" beer. :) We searched high and low to find a good outlet and this is it!! Friendly staff, large stock, willingness to order things for you, nice array of wines from all over, good stock of hard liquor. I've been impressed with them every time I've visited!! Just recently found this place but I am going to keep coming back! Excellent selection of liquors. They had a hard to get rum that I had been looking for as well as a wonderful selection of bourbons and scotch. I recently purchased a bottle of Macallan 12 year and 15 year, both great tasting, at more than reasonable prices. They also had a specific wine I was looking for as a gift. Price gouging at its finest when it comes to limited release bourbon such as Pappy and Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. Only a few stores left in the area that actually sell them for somewhat close to MSRP and Edgewater Liquors is not one of them. Take your business elsewhere. read more

While Edgewater Liquors is not a megastore, it's larger than the typical liquor store with a larger selection. I'm pretty much focused on scotch, bourbon and beer most of the time. I can always find something I want with no problem. The staff is very helpful. Occasionally, I'll go in looking for suggestions for wine. They've got an ample selection with plenty of choices in all categories. read more

Hope you don't come here for Bourbon... they have the selection but their prices are up to 5x retail. They have BTAC but all the bottles are $300+ over retail and when you see a $70 bottle on the shelf for $250 just turn around and walk off. Total waste of time. Women of a certain age are INVISIBLE here. I went in to buy a mixer & wandered around the store looking lost and wearing an arm sling. I passed two employees who didn't even look up from studying bottle displays. When I finally asked for help, the employee pointed to an area instead of walking me to the isle. This isn't the first time I've been ignored at Edgewater Liquors. I am normal looking & was nicely dressed too. They definitely cater to men at this store. There are other liquor store options in the area. On the plus side, the store was clean. read more

Shop here often great beer selection and LaMarca Prosecco is always priced well. Recently I was hosting a bridal shower and wanted mini bottles of limoncello for favors. I called a few large liquor stores in our area and they were dismissive. I asked at Edgewater, they called their distributor and were able to locate them and have them available for me to pickup within a week. read more

I shop here all the time and utilize the sales that are advertised in the giant front window all the time. I came into the store this past Saturday 7-14 and saw that the beer being advertised was Dogfish Head SeaQuench Ale 12 Pack for $15.99. Usually if a business is advertising a product they will do what they can to honor that price. Well they apparently put up the advertising for a busy summer Saturday before shipment of the product. They instead had 6 packs for $9.99 each. They would not sell me two 6 packs for the $15.99 price. They said "we won't do that." You're a business. You can do anything to keep customers happy. It wasn't a ridiculous request since you were advertising it. I won't be shopping in this liquor store anymore! read more

Edgewater Liquors has, hands down, the best selection of beers, including lots of specialty and/or hard to find brews, especially high-quality imports, in Edgewater. I can't speak to the price of standard, domestic beers so I'll take the previous reviewer's word for it but I hae no doubt. The staff, is helpful, friendly and best of all, knowledgeable. Curious about the previous comment about 'been there forever', I looked them up and indeed, they have been in Edgewater since the 60's, long before the boom in booze stops here in town in recent years. Our go to place in Annapolis, especially since they increased the number of craft beers (especially local) that they carry. We love the "surprise" case specials and will often stop by just to see what is being offered each week. They haven't all been great, but for the low price it's usually worth the gamble. The liquors we buy (tequila/bourbon) are typically competitively priced with other store. I love the customer service and help we get when looking for something specific/special. read more

A full-service liquor store with good prices. This was our neighborhood store when we lived in Edgewater (1990-2006) but we still go back there even though we now live in Silver Spring. One reason is that we live in the land (Montgomery County) of communist liquor stores with limited selections. The MoCo stores actually undercut Edgewater Liquors for some cheap booze, but they don't even carry beer. By contrast, Edgewater Liquors will sell you any alcoholic beverage at a reasonable price. read more

Solid store for beers and usually have some case sales. This store has a great bourbon collection but it's priced at secondary levels.

The staff is always friendly and helpful and they have a nice selection. I found the prices on most of my favorite wines to be a dollar or two less than other near-by competitors as well. The staff can offer decent recommendations too, if you know generally what kind of wine you are looking for and have a price-point in mind. They introduced me to my new favorite inexpensive Malbec, which I probably would not have tried had they not suggested it. (P.S., they do not look at me funny when I go shopping with my 4 year old, either. They even give him lollypops!) read more

Disrespectful and greedy owner. Rude to customers and thinks its ok to severely markup limited release bottlings at 4-5 times msrp.

I've had good luck finding what I want here in the way of wines, and have received good advice from the staff on several occasions. Prices are very good, IMO, on most good reds and some decent whites too. Discounts on cases makes them even more so. I always bring back bottles when I'm in CA or Italy, but when I'm home, I shop here. "Life is too short to drink cheap wine." read more
