I love this place. Good people, good atmosphere and they go out of the way to provide great service. If you're looking for a breakfast sandwich, A.M. Joy is the one to try. They used to make the Vegan A.M. Joy, it is my favorite and truly is the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. I was a new first time mom on Maternity leave and breastfeeding so not much capacity for cooking my own meals just yet. I would order the Vegan A.M. Joy online on Saturdays. One day when I came in for pick up they told me that they were ending the sandwich due to no longer having the bread that comes with the sandwich. I understood. Sad but understood. I kindly thanked them for letting me know. Suddenly at the last minute, one of the workers at the doughnut shop asked me to wait. We're happy to have a great donut place super close to our new home. They specialize in quality instead of quantity. The staff is amazing. Very helpful and attentive. We went once prior to our recent visit and they were out of donuts but the coffee was perfect. Our second visit was a donut score. We got the tiramisu, caramel cheesecake, lemon meringue, and their version of Boston crème. Each one was great in its own way. My husband loved the lemon. It was a bit of a miss for me with the dark chocolate on the Boston Crème. It was also lacking a lot in the filling. We were the only two in the store, which was great because that gave us time to look over all their options. The menu features cinnamon rolls, pastries (macaroon, danish), breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, sweet rolls, cakes (whole and by the slice), and of course, doughnuts! There's something for everyone, truly. On this day, we opted for the iced chocolate latte, smoked chicken breakfast bowl, a slice of chocolate Smith Island cake, a slice of the carrot cake, a Sassy Sally doughnut, and a chocolate darling doughnut. The iced chocolate latte was delicious. Smooth and chocolatey! The smoked chicken breakfast bowl was good. I would have liked more sauce throughout, since it was only drizzled on top. Some of the chicken pieces were a bit dry. The tots were very crispy. The doughnuts are always fresh and delicious. My family enjoyed both slices of cake. There are four 2-top tables to sit at inside (half booth seating, half chair), and 6 seats total in the window. My last review of Blondie's Doughnuts was in March of 2021, when we were still going through the COVID pandemic. At that time, Blondie's was mostly doing pop-ups, farmer's markets, a food truck, and home deliveries. In the past, I mostly got my Blondie's fix from home delivery. Fast forward to 2025. They now have a storefront in Edgewater. Recently, I found myself visiting the Annapolis area and I just HAD to grab some doughnuts to take back home to NJ with me. My friend met me there before we went out to brunch. Upon entering the store, I was greeted. I'm not sure if this was an owner or an employee, however, she was very nice and helpful. She offered suggestions and told us her favorite items. I decided to go with Showgirl (maple bacon), Lemon Meringue, Banana Pudding, and Red Velvet. I shared some of the doughnuts with my mom, but I will say that my two favorites were the Lemon Meringue and Banana Pudding. In the past, they did a doughnut that was filled with lemon curd minus the meringue and that was a favorite of mine then. Adding the meringue to it is just the icing on the cake! I love it both ways. In addition to doughnuts, they offer cinnamon rolls and breakfast sandwiches. I've had their cinnamon rolls in the past, but not during this visit. The breakfast sandwiches are a newer offering. I'm glad I got the chance to visit their storefront and hope to get back to the area again soon for more doughnuts, buns, and to try a sandwich. I ordered a surprise bag through TooGoodToGo, and while there I also purchased a can of coffee. The 4 doughnuts and generous amount of doughnut holes included in the bag were all delicious, and it was exactly the right amount of sweet treats for our household for a couple of days. The coffee, both what they brew there and the can, was from another local business, Black Acres Roastery out of Baltimore. I did need to pour the can into a glass and add some oat milk and a little maple syrup to sweeten a smidge, but that's due to personal preference- the coffee is very good and if you like your coffee black, you can drink it straight from the can. Walking in, I was struck by how bright, cheerful, and clean it was. Everyone was very nice and helpful, too. While I waited for my bag, since I had arrived a little early, I took a look at the menu and I can hardly wait to go back for a breakfast or lunch sandwich sometime! I was happy to see that they have some plant based options, and to learn that the first weekend of the month they do even more plant based stuff and call it Vegan Weekend. Very nice! read more

Blondie's is family owned and operated and the husband and wife owners went above and beyond to make our baby shower brunch extra special by providing us with a flawlessly executed large order, including their seasonal German chocolate doughnuts that weren't on the weekend menu but they were kind enough to make us as a courtesy. I've visited this bakery about 4 times, and the experiences have been hit or miss. The first visit was great, but the others were underwhelming. My most recent visit was on a Sunday morning at 10 AM, a time when you'd expect everything to be fresh. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The cinnamon roll was dry and STALE, and my sandwiches were made wrong (which take 20 minutes to make) so was there for 45 minutes. Customer service was also disappointing (& has been in the past as well). The staff didn't seem busy but lacked enthusiasm, empathy, and a willingness to help--almost as if I was an inconvenience. The doughnuts are INCREDIBLE. They're so fluffy but at the same time they're massive and dense. The different flavors are so creative and the taste is so spot on. Their coffees are also delicious and perfectly complement the doughnuts. I don't think I can ever have a doughnut from Dunkin ever again because I'll just be disappointed it's not from here. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The young lady that helped me went through the whole menu, explaining what each item is and what can be added to it and the substitutes they offer. It's just a great environment. I was utterly shocked at how clean the whole lace was too. Even looking in the back, all the floors looked freshly mopped, all counters and tables wiped down. Normally with a small local place like this, you always get that slight smell of a used rag with old water that should be switched out; NOT HERE! Even the bathroom was pristine. I didn't even think my hands were dirty enough to change the color of the water, but the song was so white and clean, you could tell my hands needed a wash. You could probably do surgery in the bathroom it's so clean and well kept. I had a chance to check out this establishment back in August. It is everything your sweet tooth has been searching for the Banana Pudding and Strawberry Crunch Donut were my favorites. The service was A1 and the ambiance was appealing as well. In addition to trying the donuts, I tried the Smoked Brisket Breakfast Sandwich. Since I don't eat eggs though the owner was generous and was able to make the sandwich for me without egg. I finally found the Doughnut Truck, and it was at the Maple Lawn Farmers Market. I bought an "old fashioned" glazed donut and the Oreo extreme. As you can see from the photos, this is not in the "classic" donut shape...if there's such a thing. The first bite was delightful! Little flakes from the sugar fly. It was airy and light, reminiscent of the Krispy Kreme of the old days. The Oreo extreme came with chocolate syrup and whipped cream-like product. It was sugar overload even for me.
