They moved the cups, then stacked them all together, then touched them all 2 more times to get them in a line again. Meaning they touched your cup tops multiple times and the inside of your cups touched multiple other surfaces - cross contamination. Just keep your cups in a line in the first place, there's no reason to keep moving them back and forth, up and down, stacking and un stacking the cups and touching them multiple times before you've even made the drink. It's not like any of the baristas washed their hands in the 30 minutes that I was standing by the counter watching the drunks getting made. They then proceeded to stack the cups again and dropped two in the floor. Because of this it also caused them to become disorganized. We got our drinks 10 minutes away from each other because they lost my cup due to their stacking and moving of cups. I hate that I tried this new place and I wish I didn't come here. read more

After doing a bit of shopping we got snacky, and blkdot hit the spot! I got the sausage egg toast and a green tiger, both of which were delicious. It tastes like they use real matcha, and the toast was STACKED with the toppings. So yummy. My boyfriend got a cold brew and the brekkie bowl, which he said were good too! The coffee here is fine. The pastries are good. The customer service is inconsistent. Some employees are friendly, and some are not.

We haven't discovered many good coffee spots since moving to Irvine, but this is definitely a good one! Just to help any newcomers, this is located on the end of the Spectrum by the Apple store, and is right in front of the colorful children's net playground (we had trouble finding it at first). The coffee is really delicious, and has a nice sweet note to it. My wife had the Vietnamese coffee, and I had a latte. Both were great, and it was awesome to see the barista make each coffee with some TLC. Shows how proud they are with their craft (and so so admirable and worthy of praise). The staff has been incredibly kind and friendly. This makes the location stand out above MANY. Great coffee, great service. That's a recipe for success. The location is a cozy little shop, with a few outdoor seating options. They offer some pastries, along with hot espresso drinks, and cold iced coffee drinks as well. Overall this is definitely one of the good places to visit if you're in the area! Definitely recommend. read more

This is a fairly new place to us. I like their iced vanilla lattes. Today we ordered a caramel macchiato which was delicious. You can ask for less caramel if the original amount is too much. Our drinks were about $5 each. They now allow limited seating inside and plenty of seating outside. Staff is always friendly and efficient. The ambiance is very modern and clean. Pretty unique coffee styles! But i usually buy my caramel macchiato from 85 degree bakery right next door!! Delicious. Perfect blend. I came into BLKdot because 85 degree bakery had too long of a line. Their caramel macchiato tastes watery and bland here!!! What!!! If you need a kick for the long day ahead get a Viet coffee from blkdot coffee! It is bomb! I usually make my own Viet coffee at home because I like it extra strong. Blkdot coffee version of traditional Viet coffee is extra strong. I even got the drink with less ice because I thought it'll be watered down too much, but I was wrong I should have gotten full ice. I ended up having to add more of my own ice because it was so strong! I got a large cup and that drink can probably be split into three servings with a cup full of ice each. SOOO STRONG SOOOOOO GOOD! BLK totally failed on their Chai Tea Latte. I am a fan of Chai and I was eager to try BLK for the first time because it was a super cute and unique coffee place. I ordered a Chai Tea Latte with coconut milk which totaled like $5.40. I noticed after I was given my drink that there was a carton of Oregon Chai on the counter. I asked the employee if my Chai was made from that carton and she said yes. I expected for the amount I was charged for my Chai Tea Latte for the mix to at least be made in house. OK. So I was having trouble deciding where I wanted to get lunch at since I was gonna be going to the Irvine Spectrum today. But then eventually, I decided that it be BLKdot Coffee since I was also craving for coffee. Today was not my first time coming to BLKdot Coffee since I came here a couple of times and I'm already have my stamp card too. I got a large iced VTM coffee with less ice and some more milk and for the first time, I got one of their lunch sandwiches. I picked the pork sausage banh mi sandwich. I gotta say that it was delicious. Tasted way better than I expected. A well made sandwich indeed. And the coffee was good too. If y'all love a good Vietnamese coffee, this is the place to go! The coffee is rich creamy and will have you on a good one. They are very COVID compliant. Meh. I came back after a year I hadn't been in the area and was so disappointed. I used to love the sausage banh mi sandwiches they would make before the pandemic and was rather annoyed that they don't even make them anymore and only make some breakfast version now. I was also really annoyed that they didn't even use the French roll bread anymore for their sandwiches and used ciabatta now. I just feel like it was less authentic. I got the chicken banh mi and was not impressed. The mango green tea was decent but nothing special. It was around $15 for everything, not worth the money. read more

I've been here twice in just as many days and it didn't match the hype. Day 1: We ordered a stay at home VTM, Uji Matcha Latte, and sea salt coffee. They were all out of matcha which, ok it was afternoon so all right and replaced it with a lychee peach tea and mango delight tea. VTM - was definitely strong enough to taste and was perfect for my uncle. Sea salt coffee - my aunt said she prefers it on location rather than brought back as a takeout order. Lychee Peach Tea - my sister order it less sweet and thought it was delish. It comes with lychee jelly and chia seeds. Mango Delight Tea - great refreshing summer drink. Critique is that when I asked the barista what was in the drink she said mango bits I assumed she meant actual pieces of cut mango when in actuality it has MANGO JELLY in it. It also comes with chia seeds. Day 2: We come back the next day to do some returns and finally get to try the matcha latte. We ordered: 2 stay at home VTMs, 1 matcha latte, 1 BVTM and an almond croissant. Because their delivery person hasn't arrived yet and they have no idea when they will arrive once again they're out of matcha latte and they only have enough VTM to give us the 2 stay at homes and not enough for the BVTM, because of online orders. Disappointed. We got a free drink out of the trouble but it was still frustrating as it's the 2 day Going to the location and we arrived around 1130 a bit before the mall opens. Day one it was later in the afternoon so more understandable to be out of stuff. We get home and I try the almond croissant at recommendation. It was honestly very disappointing as well dry and tasted like it wasn't fresh. My aunt who recommended and highly praised their croissant was also disappointed and said it wasn't like she'd experienced before. _____________ The customer service was ok and it was nice that they gave us a drink card but I don't think I'll use it at that location. read more

Finally a place even closer to me! It's in the new area near Target and Nordstrom. Grab a VTM here and some 85 degrees a couple doors down. The coffee is great here and consistent with their other locations. However their customer service could be improved greatly. Granted it's their first day and the employees are new, they need to be trained better on customer service and not giving semi rude replies when being asked questions. I'll come back cause I'm a fan of their coffee, but hopefully next time the employees would have some additional courtesy training under their belt. read more

I also got chocolate and almond croissants, but they weren't my favorite. WOW! Ive never had a horrible experience like i just had right now! On tuesday january 2024 i go in to pick up an order. Its around 9:10 AM and i go to ask for my order to the guy that is heavyset with a goatee and a mustache brown hair long on top short on sides, and i ask him for my order. Hes listening to music as hes preparing orders and he rolls his eyes and says "ill get it to you right now" super rudely! I go wait for 5- 10 min it still isnt done and i see 3 WORKERS DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TALKING TO EACHOTHER WHILE THE BIG GUY IS SERVING 10-15 cups of coffee on his own. I walk over to the workers laughing doing nothing, and i ask them "hey is my order ready?" SUPER POLITELY and tell them my name. The heavyset man replies INSANELY RUDE "bro" he rolls his eyes and sighs super loudly "i already told you im making your order what dont you understand about that?" LIKE WHAT?? I come here all the time and they took away the matcha latte old recipe away and that was mine and all my friends favorite drink. I went in the other day and they told me just to ask for the old recipe when ordering and made me one. But I went today to ask for the same old order and the lady was like no I don't have the ingredients but I said I came in the other day and she changed her answer saying oh no my manager won't let me it's policy, I said why did they let me have it the other day and they told me I can still order it all the time.
