Haven't been here in years so I decided to give it another shot. I really enjoy good drip coffee and my belief is that if you are a coffee shop, you better be good at making the simplest thing on the menu. Unfortunately, BLKdot is not good at making drip coffee. The barista told me it was a medium roast Columbian mixed roast. I typically like single origin but in case I went with the mixed. How bad could it be? Especially since I like Columbian single origin and I like medium roasts. What did I get instead? A lukewarm to cold watery coffee bean water. I get that it's 7 pm on a Saturday but how could you serve this? The lukewarm temperature when I first tried it was alarming enough but the watery extremely light bodied not even close to medium roast was just sad. Price wise it was $2.95 for a medium, so not overly steep, but it was just so disappointing. This coffee shop couldn't get the simplest thing on the menu down so for that reason I will probably not be returning. Sad that the only option in spectrum is this place and 85 for coffee.... read more

This is the best coffee place I have ever been to in my life. The coffee was beyond excellent in flavor and in keeping me awake and alert for a very long drive home. Ciara, Megan, Nusha, Alyssa, and Melissa made me feel very welcomed and taken care of the second I walked in the door. Not to mention my drink was ready and given to me within minutes of me ordering it with a line out the door, showing they truly do care about each and every customer they have to make such great connections with them when so busy. I have never had such a nice interaction with baristas in my hunt for the perfect cup of coffee, and I will and would recommend this place if you love either tea or coffee and a great atmosphere. I came here for a morning work meeting, and ordered their Exotic Passion tea while sitting outside. This place is tucked in the corner of Spectrum, nearby Target, yet it feels very loungy when you see the amount of seats available. BLK has been my go-to coffee spot lately! Have had a few of their drinks and some breakfast food there and nothing has disappointed! Def fave is their traditional Vietnamese ice coffee - I mean who doesn't love condensed milk haha. If you don't want that caffeine jolt then you can also do it decaf just for the flavor which is nice too. I've also tried their cold brew, mocha, and americano - and have enjoyed them all. There is a nice strong coffee taste but nothing too bitter or overpowering. Their breakfast toasts and pastries aren't bad either! The avocado toast and the sausage toast make for a great breakfast! The staff here is always super friendly and cheerful. Drinks come out fast and make sure to get a stamp card if you come here often like I do :) read more

First of all, service and vibe was great. The baristas all looked friendly and down to help me out despite the sheer amount of people in line. Good overall stronger coffee than most places around. They also have a mojito drink my wife got. She loved it but it was a bit too bitter for me. So overall it will have a taste for most people. We have been to both places in Tustin and Spectrum and the drinks are similar which is great. read more

This coffee shop is just so adorable. The inside and outside decor is so warm and inviting. Their drinks are so unique. It's a nice place to go to if you are tired of ubiquitous coffee shops. If you have kids or pets in your party they will enjoy the artificial grass nearby. I tried the iced Vietnamese coffee with sea salt foam on top and it was like nothing I've ever had. Ok very nice little place but cramped and crowded when I went. Clerk was nice and I got a hot chai tea latte. Not the clerks fault but basically was a powder tea mix with some hot milk. The coffee is alriiight, I've definitely had better. The vanilla iced latte tasted a little bitter to my taste. I had to add extra simple syrup which I usually do not need to do at other coffee bars. Price point was cool tho, $4.25. What I'm really writing the review for is the LYCHEE PEACH TEA. It was b o m b. Not too sweet and not lacking sweetness either. First of all, I should say that BLK's (light) Vietnamese Iced Coffee is SO GOOD. This is what has kept me coming back. Today, I ordered a larger iced LVTM per usual, and their sausage egg and toast. I wasn't sure what to get to eat but the gentleman in the glasses recommended this and I'm so glad he did. It was great! Perfect to snack on while I sat inside. It came out with pico de gallo on accident, but the woman with the glasses (I know I should be better at descriptions) quickly remade it and promised me a free drink next time for my wait, which I didn't mind anyways.
