So glad this place opened and it's not too far from my work either! Parking is super easy in the morning, you can just park in the structure and they validate. They have designated spots for BLK Coffee, which is conveniently just a couples steps away from the store. Iced VTM Coffee - WOW. The reviews are not exaggerating when everyone is says how strong this coffee is. Though it is extremely strong, it is also verrryyyyy creamy and milky. The sweetness mixed with creamniess is so perfect. If it wasn't for the super strong taste, I would probably drink it all really fast. But like most Vietnamese coffees, you can just let the ice melt down a bit (it'll still be strong, but it helps). Sea Salt Coffee - This was okay for me. I think it had a sour coffee taste (citrusy and acidic), which some people really like, but I prefer the smokey taste. I like their VTM much better. Got lucky and was able to snag the last table that morning -- it was a pretty small coffee shop with very limited indoor seating and wall outlets, but at least they had free wifi (courtesy of the folks at Google just one door over.) In case you were curious like I was, here's are some of the differences between the 3 VTM specialty on the rocks drinks and it's as follows: - Traditional VTM Coffee - Vietnamese-style coffee with condensed milk and espresso (6 shots in the small, 8 shots in the large) - LVTM Coffee - Vietnamese-style coffee with less condensed milk and less espresso shots - Black VTM Coffee - Vietnamese-style coffee with espresso, and no condensed milk Got myself a small, Iced Traditional VTM Coffee on my visit .. and ohhh boy, the small had wayyyy more than enough caffeine than I think was humanly necessary. I think I could feel my heart beat out of my chest about a tenth of the way into my drink! ..but I guess that's what to be expected when 6 shots of espresso gets mixed with sugared-up milk. They sure do make a MEAN espresso here, it's supremely smooth and strong. Love the coffee here but hate the parking situation. I probably would not come to this location again. Ordered an iced LVTM coffee, which is basically like a Vietnamese coffee on crack. The LVTM is lighter (hence the L in the name) than their signature VTM coffee. I have tried a sample of the VTM and it is no joke how strong it is. I like the LVTM because it still has a nice flavor despite being marketed as lighter. The cafe itself is somewhat small with a few tables inside and a handful outside on the patio. It is part of the Google building so it seems like most of the customers work in the area. They do offer parking validation so that is nice but I was worried about which spots I was allowed to park in and just decided to opt for a BLK reserved 15 minute only spot near the entrance. read more

Came here for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised by the array of drinks and entrees available. This little cafe, has Asian-infused menu items and is super cute inside. I ordered a lychee peach iced tea and a chicken banh mi sandwich. The lychee peach iced tea was made with green tea, chia seeds, and lychee chews at the bottom. HIGHLY RECCOMEND! The chicken banh mi was also very satisfying!! I think this was the best bang mi I have ever tasted. A small side note - I took out the jalepenos because I can't handle spicy, but if you can then leave them in! The price is very affordable, I believe I paid about $14 for both my drink and sandwich. The sandwich is also very filling, you will be completely satisfied! One downside of this location is the parking. I parked in a lot with the cross streets Jamboree and Centerpointe. There is a parking structure but I was a bit intimidated to park in there as the sign said $1.75 every 15 minutes. The first time I experienced BLKdot coffee was in Tustin. I recently found out there was a location in Irvine, so I knew I had to come by. Since I was out for lunch nearby, I figured I would grab a coffee here. This location is nestled in the Google Complex. I hadn't realized that, and the GPS took me through the delivery entrance. So, it took me a minute to find the actual shop. Once I got there, I ordered the Iced VTM, which is their Vietnamese iced coffee. My order was ready in under 5 minutes. It so creamy, sweet, and the caffeine really gives you a jolt (which I really needed). Although they don't have their own WiFi network, you can use the free Google guest WiFi. So, I was able to stay here and get some work done. My only complaint was that the shop closes really early, and I had to leave by 5pm. I had no idea of this place before my friend brought it up last month. Haha. Which shows that knowing friends that love to explore helps :P A ten minute drive from UCI, you have to exit Jamboree and enter through Centrepointe. (Depending on what direction of Jamboree you are coming from). From there you will have a parking structure right in front of you. (IMPAC parking center). Look for the signs that say "Black Coffee Parking" and park there. You might be confused and be like wait BLK =Black? Apparently so. I parked there ahah xD. From there, you walk across the street into the complex and you are there! Upon going in, you could tell that they make a lot of different drinks. But what people come here for are the LVTM and the VTM. They ask you if this is your first time, especially if you stare in awe of the menu. THEY DO GIVE SAMPLES so make sure to try it so you can handle! I tried the VTM iced coffee and I felt I could handle it and so I ordered a large iced VTM ($5.25 for 24 oz). My fellow foodie did the same :P. I don't know, you might feel jittery and regrets later on the day. Because this coffee is strong. Anywho, they ask you if you need validation, and with that they give you a ticket for 1 hour of validation. (parking over there is really expensive!) There are some tables inside that you can sit and talk about life with a friend, or you can go here to meet someone on a first date! *wink wink*. The coffee is definitely strong and they have 1/4th ice. So there's a good amount of ice but it will not get watered down. No matter what. This took me about 40 minutes to drink, and I drink a lot of things quickly. Especially iced drinks. And if this is strong for me, it's probably strong for a lot of people. It's not overly sweet (obviously still a good amount of sugar there tho) but the condensed milk tho. xD Sample the LVTM. See if you like that. And then sample the VTM. I finally made the time to stroll on over to BLK Coffee to see what all the talk was about and to see if this could potentially become one of my go-to coffee places since it's a short drive from my apartment complex. *DIRECTIONS* If you're not familiar with where the Google building or the Equinox gym is, BLK Coffee may be a little difficult for you find, but make a left/right onto Centerpointe (depending on what direction of Jamboree you're coming from) and BLK Coffee is within that area. At the stop sign once you're in there make a left and enter the parking garage from the self-parking entrance and grab your ticket! Don't worry, BLK Coffee validates your parking! Once you're there, you can't miss it! *VIBE/ATMOSPHERE* I really like vibe of this coffee shop. It's s a really nice addition to Irvine and all the businesses that surrounds BLK Coffee. They have one large couch and a smaller couch and seats inside, as well as seats outside that you can choose to sit at if its a nice beautiful OC day! The decor here is really hip. They have succulents and artwork that looks handmade but they're so cute and add to the atmosphere. They also have FREE WIFI. So, if you're looking to study here or get some work done, this might be the place for you! *COFFEE* I really enjoyed my coffee here. For my first time I got the latte because after reading reviews about how strong their VTM coffee (Viet coffee) was, I didn't want to get over caffeinated (since I came around 4PM). But boy oh boy, even my latte was strong! I had a good buzz of caffeination for hours. Maybe I've just become sensitive or maybe it was all in my head! Either way BLK Coffee espresso based drinks really get the job done! It's also good to note they also have other coffee drinks like a Thai Tea Latte, which I will most definitely be back for! I came here often when I worked in the plaza. Employees were always friendly and the place was always kept clean. Bakery display would consistently run out or run low towards mid-afternoon which is good because it shows that they don't overstock and sell stale croissants and danishes the next day. VTM is very sweet and a bit overpriced since you get about 4 ounces in a 16oz cup filled with crushed ice. Tasted fine but I'd rather a latte. Lychee jelly chia something or other lemonade/tea thing was interesting. I've never had to chew my tea before. Chicken Banh Mi sandwich is tremendous! Loved this item and ordered it every time. Coffee is good. Espresso is strong. Prices are rich but I think it's worth it. Outdoor seating is open and sunny with plenty of benches in the plaza to grab a spot as well. I don't work here anymore so I doubt I'll come back given the parking situation, but if you're in the area or considering dropping by, do it. You won't be disappointed. read more

I love making a stop here after a morning yoga class in Newport, since it's on the way home. I found this place on Yelp, and while I usually like to decide what to get based on reviews/pictures, I had the hardest time deciding between the VTM (the Vietnamese coffee they specialize in), and the LVTM (the lighter version), and has to consult the baristas. They were very knowledgeable, and even offered me a sample of the VTM. It's super strong but also super delicious - I ended up getting the LVTM but I regretted it after a few sips because it tasted suuuper light after sampling the real deal. The second time I came, I asked for half of each so it's not overwhelmingly strong or weak, and it was so delicious, my new go to drink! This is located next to the Google office, parking was super confusing the first time I went. If you're turning in on jamboree and center pointe, go straight into the parking lot and make a left. There's a few spots specifically for BLK. It's validated parking, but if you're just stopping by, it's free. Also, I'm so excited for the new location opening at Tustin market place because it's closer to home and I don't have to use yoga as a reason to get my new fave coffee. read more

They have Vietnamese coffee that is truly amazing...it has a unique taste to it that makes you want more of it. It is stronger than regular coffee so if you are sensitive to caffeine then be careful. Yes, I will come back for coffee probably because this location is open early & it is close to my work place & doesn't seem like it would be as packed as Starbucks. The Chicken Banh Mi Sandwich was filling, but it is a little pricey (almost $8!), which makes me miss Lee's Sandwiches near campus. Boyfriend didn't like the Mocha as much, but did like the Jalapeno cheese bagel. VTM coffee was good, a little bit too much condensed milk for me! I don't like my coffees sweet like I used to (think LOTS of condense milk + little bits of coffee) so I am a little put off by the extreme sweetness that it is now. The Vietnamese iced coffee and the iced coffee with white mocha were amazing! The baristas were all so nice as well and when I asked what was good they offered me samples! I was looking for a new coffee shop nearby that I could possibly study at in the future & get some coffee today... however I will most likely never return to this location because of how inconvenient it is. First of all, parking is in a structure which I didn't know if it was free or not since it's in front of a corporate building, and people were badging in. So I had to call the cafe, and that's when they informed me that I could park inside to get validated. Then I enter the lot, and didn't realize that there's only 15 min parking available for BlkDot, so definitely not gonna come here to study. So really you can only come to this location to quickly pick up your coffee. Then I got a matcha/viet coffee iced & asked for less ice but i got half a cup FULL of ice.. i get that for viet coffee you do add a lot of ice, however for $7.55 i expected my cup to be at least full even though i asked for less ice. The drink itself wasn't bad, but a bit too sweet for my taste. Just FYI for anyone looking for coffee shops nearby, this shop is def geared towards the people that work there. read more

This review is about the milk tea. i don't recommend getting it. It tastes like Lollicup. I think Lollicup uses some kind of milk tea powder. The tea feels like some amalgamation of boba and water and the flavor isn't very strong. When the ice melts, you might as well buy yourself some Aquafina. If you're looking for some yummy milk tea, I recommend you save that craving for an actual milk tea place. On the upside, the sweetness is on-point. Also, the service is pretty good.
