This is an absolute must-try. Booked a two-hour experience at Blissful Headspace Spa. The first hour was a full body massage and the second hour was a scalp spa treatment. The massage was so relaxing, my masseuse really cared about my experience and did an excellent job. There was a hot stone portion that was incredible. In the second hour, the massage table transformed into a scalp spa treatment area. My hair has never been so clean in my life. There was one massage tool used that instantaneously eliminated a lingering headache I'd had all day. The best part was the hair steam. The best part? Two hours of heaven cost me $120 pre-tip. I really wanted to love this place but I can sadly say I won't be back. With an appointment for a specific time, I still waited 30 min to have my services start. I got the 90 min head spa and massage. They take 10 min to blow dry your hair so it's actually 80 min. Then, my massage therapist was massaging me, but also doing it at such a slow pace that I didn't feel like I was getting any results in my knots being kneaded out. She didn't focus on any problem areas even though she pointed them out. For the head spa, I was expecting more "bliss" from the head massage but she didn't hit the nail on the head with any of her movements. She didn't hit any of my head pressure points.. just all a bit off. Blow dry was horrendous. She obviously wasn't experienced in blow drying hair and got way too close to my scalp making it burn, so I had to tell her multiple times to pull away. She also blew very close over my ear multiple times where I had to cover my ear with my hand. She checked my scalp with the camera but I had ko point of reference from the before - because I didn't get to at viewpoint. Did she forget this step? The whole experience from beginning to end was poor. Still tipped 20%. Maybe it's a case by case basis in who you get. read more

The UI isn't very good and you'll need to check the availability of each person individually. We opted for the 60m option and while it was a good experience, I don't feel the need to come back more than like every other month. I wouldn't say the experience was "relaxing" like a body massage but it was calming. The upper part of the rooms' partition open, you can hear everything going on in the store and people chatting about. We both felt the service was a bit "rough," meaning they went IN on the scalp. Some parts felt better than others but they did the job of cleaning my scalp, as shown by the magnifying camera they show you at the end of your service. As others have mentioned, this is a scalp service, not a salon, so don't expect a blowout at the end. They'll blow dry your hair at the end using a hair dryer that looks like a Dyson knockoff, but I wouldn't call the experience luxurious - which it shouldn't, given how reasonable the price is but calling it out so you know what to expect. They used perfect pressure to put me into a deep trance. Yuki was my specialist and she was absolutely amazing the entire process. I booked the signature scalp herbal steam treatment. It started off with a scalp massage but she massaged a little bit of the neck as well and then she shampooed twice with the herbal shampoo. When she put the conditioner in, she gave me a neck and back massage while waiting to wash it off. This is then followed up with a steamer on the head which is when she gave me a arm & hand massage. After that was done, she blow dried (not a blowout) my hair and showed me what my scalp looks like using the scalp analyzer machine (was very excited for this part!). I'd give this experience between 3.5 and 4 stars. I booked the 90 minute scalp spa for this past weekend. The spa itself was very clean and beautiful. The staff was friendly but there was a language barrier which made communication tricky at times but everyone there was very accommodating, kind, and had an upbeat attitude. PROS: 1. Ambiance, like I said the spa was clean and had nice decor, this establishment looked very new and updated 2. The room that the scalp spa took place in was very nice, good temperate, dim lighting with relaxing music, the basin of the sink where they wash your hair and massage your head had a blue light which was cool, they also provided blankets which kept me warm and comfortable 3. My massage therapist scrubbed my hair twice with shampoo and once with conditioner which left my hair feeling very clean and soft for days after 4. Besides scrubbing your hair they also give a brief neck, shoulder, arm, and hand massage 5. At the end of the experience they loosely blow dry your hair and use this machine to show you your scalp which is very cool to look at because it's magnified and very clean looking 6. My massage therapist used a head massage tool with the spiny legs which always feels so good 7. My scalp was steamed with this large container that attached to the sink/basin and this felt very good CONS: 1. I scheduled a 90 minute scalp massage experience and unfortunately my entire experience was 90 minutes, meaning I entered the spa at 12:45 to check in, I sat for a few minutes, used the bathroom then went into my room to change my clothes and lay on the bed, when I walked out of the spa it was 2:15 which included the time it took for me to get dressed again, pay my bill, use the bathroom and leave - I was under the impression that the scalp massage itself would be about 70 minutes with 20 minutes left to loosely dry the hair and look at the scalp with the machine. The actual scalp massage seemed to only last about 45-50 minutes at maximum. There was another woman in the room next to me who started at the same time, I assume she got the shorter 60 minute experience, and she was done only a few minutes before me. So I definitely feel like i wasn't given the whole time. I think this is something they need to be clearer about on their website and state that the 90 minute experience has X amount of time allotted for the massage/scalp treatment and X amount of time for the blow dry because I left feeling jipped which could have been the case or could have been a lack of communication on their end. 2. The scalp massage was much more a scrubbing feeling like what you typically experience at a hair salon instead of a massage which is what I expected. I thought the scalp would be massaged in a relaxing manner but my scalp was scrubbed in a way that actually hurt at some points. I go for massages often and completely understand that sometimes the pressure applied can hurt but I'd say in this case my head was scrubbed hard not massaged firmly. All to say, I didn't find the scalp/hair part to be too relaxing. I wish they did more circular massage motion on my head and maybe even my face around my temples. 3. Compared to what I've seen of this type of head spa service on TikTok, I'd say this was just an okay experience. Only two tools were used on my head, one being some kind of comb and the other the head massager which I enjoyed. But there was no in depth face massage or temple massage, no face masks, no ice rollers, etc. which is what I see a lot of online. What I'm trying to say with this point is it seems that other places have a more extensive experience than this one. 4. I was charged $100 for a 90 minute experience that I felt I didn't exactly get because of what I previously stated, which again could be a lack of communication other end or that I was jipped, not sure as it was my first time here Overall, I probably wouldn't return or recommend this as a "must do". I'd like to try this same experience at other establishments and see how it goes. If I return, I will only get the 60 minute experience at it seemed that the 90 minutes was spent the same way. read more

Pros: Affordable price, easy location close to a subway stop, nice decor Unfortunately I won't be returning. It was a nice looking place and my masseuse (Blissful 4) was nice. But she was sick. Coughing and sniffling the entire time. She wore a mask but under her nose so it wasn't doing much. She blew her nose partway thru my treatment and then immediately touched my hair without cleaning her hands. It was hard to relax when I was worried I'd catch something the entire time. She also farted multiple times during the session. I understand bodily functions happen but letting out not one but two smelly farts in an enclosed space right by your clients head is not very professional nor relaxing. The noise level outside the room was also very distracting. The employees were talking and laughing very loudly right outside my door. The rooms aren't fully enclosed so you can hear everything. I wish they could have kept the volume down. The treatment itself was alright. The massage was rough to the point if it being more painful than relaxing. The warm water arch thing was nice just not long enough. My head was getting pretty cold at times. Curly haired girlies I'd avoid unless you don't care how your hair ends up or you have nowhere to go after. She blowed dry my hair with high heat, no products, no diffusing. I thought it would be blowed dry straight as I've seen on vids online. But instead I was left with a frizzy fluffy mess. To add insult to injury she brushed my hair out after ‍ I'll have to go back to my hotel and rewash it just to not look like a mess. I just don't think they know how to deal with curly hair. My only star knock off is because it isn't as quiet as you would like it to be for a spa but you will get a great scalp massage, wash and neck massage. They are cash only so I remember to get cash before you get there. Had a great experience here starting with a head and scalp massage followed by hair washing, steaming, neck/shoulder/arm massage. The blow dry after is bare bones, slightly above a rough dry. There was a round brush on the stylist's station but I didn't see anyone using a brush. I do wish there was an upgrade option for a blowout or even a self-dry station. My one issue is no heat protectant was used which I try to be really diligent about using myself. After the blow dry she showed me my scalp which was interesting but there was no guidance in terms of what I was looking at, it might've been more helpful to do the scalp view before service and after to notice the difference. All in all the ~60 minute service was $68 and I found it to be a unique and relaxing experience. There is no ATM or Venmo option for tipping so thankfully I was able to add it to my bill. I got the 60min head spa & 60min body massage package and it was a good value for the cost, and relaxing at some points, with many caveats. It was not like the social media videos. And I wish I didn't let the reviews get my expectations unnecessarily high. Front desk vibe was off - I wasn't greeted, and both the check-in and check-out was unfriendly, unwelcoming, and transactional. The appointment-book lady criticized me for coming in with washed hair - I had just come from a sauna and of course showered after, so if she would've rather her guests arrive sweaty, dirty and full of sauna germs, that's unfortunate for her employees. When I entered the head spa room, it was right after a previous guest left, and the masseuse only wiped the water off the head cradle with a kleenex and asked me to get ready to lay down. I had to request her to change the used towels because she was reusing the wet and unsanitary ones from the previous guest and didn't even care that it was obvious. They don't sanitize the head cradle nor the hair tools between guests, either. The room was right next to the loud hair-drying station so it was a noisy, chaotic ambiance. The service itself was relaxing, again, with many caveats. Keep in mind that it will be more head-scratching and less pressure-point massage unlike higher-end spots. The service was rushed and only 50min, shorter than it was supposed to be. She also aggressively rubbed my hair with the towel when towel-drying which causes breakage and damage, which is why reputable head spas and salons gently pat your hair dry. Hair brushing is also done haphazardly here, starting from root to end, instead of bottom up to prevent knots - I could literally hear my hair breaking off during brushing. Finally, the masseuse didn't even take me to the drying station; she blow-dried my hair while I was still laying down in the head spa, which resulted in the front half of my hair sticking up, and the back half of head still wet. She also dropped the blowdryer on my face, which absolutely sucked. Then she reassured me it was ok to go to the bathroom in just my robe, which I regret, because the male employee leered at me the whole way back. I also noticed a lot more hair frizz/damage in the mirror from all the breakage and upside-down drying. To be fair, the body massage was done well and by another employee, but she got oil all over my washed and dried hair, which is normal during massage. The facial lymphatic drainage from the head spa is also undone when you lay face down for a body massage after and end up with a puffy face. This is why I suggest body massage first. Front desk said they had to switch the order of my services, and I would recommend guests push back against that. At least this masseuse had better work ethic, good technique, and was upbeat and friendly. read more
