This is one of my favorite places to go for a great burger (try the Lafayette) and some amazing Shrimp and Grits. It's a hole in the wall, dive bar, downtown Mobile and it it is definitely worth checking out. The laid-back vibe, great customer service and amazing food make this a great place for lunch or Sunday brunch with friends or with your furbaby. They have a very long list of bottled craft brews to choose and includes ciders. While the service is friendly, it gets pretty busy, so be patient, it's worth it. read more

Without a doubt one of the best places in town for courtyard dining. I love the "hole-in-the-wall pub" vibe inside, but when the weather is nice there's no beating their courtyard's atmosphere. They have a great menu, I just wish they offered breakfasty items on Saturdays; they don't even though their webpage clearly states brunch every weekend (with no brunch menu link). After a long time of not venturing out to downtown on weekend mornings after Covid, hub and I decided to make the trek to Blind Mule this past Saturday for a brunch date. I was disappointed to find they don't have a breakfast menu on Saturdays, but the work-around was that they had their Benny on special that day which hub got, and I got the shrimp and grits. My shrimp were about 30 seconds over-cooked, but aside from that both dishes were tasty and breakfasty enough to count... with mimosas and bloody Mary's, and coffee. As always, the service was stellar. After losing so many of our favorite eating establishments over the past year, I'm so glad Mule is hanging in there. read more

This place was a very delightful surprise. We looked at their website and the menu was all messed up, so it repeated the same 4 or 5 items in every category. But we decided to head that way for dinner anyway. We got there, the inside was small, warm and stuffy, thankfully they have a back patio. The weather in March is perfect for outdoor dining in Mobile, so long as it's not raining. The true menu had many more selections that were amazing! The service in Mobile has been wonderful and tonight was o exception our waitress was both attentive and friendly. I had the shrimp and grits, do not pass on that, the sauce is to die for. I really must go back to try The Blind Mule Bake. My partner got The Tennessee Squealer,it was huge and he loved it. We started with the Chili Cheese Fries they did not disappoint either. Best burger we have had in town. Also can't beat the craft beer selection here. Many local brews as well as other Alabama beers offered here. The mushroom Swiss and the chili burger were very good. Although they did not really pay attention to how we ordered the cook of our burgers. read more

We ordered the Texas squealer burger, one with sweet potatoes waffle fries and the other with regular fries. Everything was amazing and cooked perfectly. We're not from the area but when we pass through again, we'll definitely make this our place to stop. read more

Bar food type place, I had the gumbo and it was incredible. I also had the blue cheese buffalo fries, which were very good. My friends had burgers and they said they were very tasty. Inside is cramped but the court yard had a cool atmosphere. I had never been to downtown Mobile. It kinda reminded me of New Orleans /Key West.....artsy kind of a vibe. read more

Me & my wife drove out to Mobile for a friends book signing. We got a call from some friends to meet them there for brunch & bottomless mimosa's before we attend the book signing & they had found this place on Yelp as we all are from Louisiana. We meet with our friends there & immediately ordered the ($10) bottomless mimosa's to start. I order the chicken & pancakes and my wife ordered the shrimp & grits. Our food was AMAZING!!! We're just passing through on our way to Georgia and stopped in - Cool downtown location and a quaint atmosphere! Friendly staff set a wonderful tone! They continue to fill up your glass and Shannon was nothing short of AMAZING!!! She was very attentive and always there to answer questions or give suggestions. She even told us about some local spots in downtown Mobile to check out before crawfish season ends and some great places to catch the sunset. I had the Shrimp and Grits and the sauce was OIT OF THIS WORLD!!! So many times you try Shrimp and Grits and the gravy is "yuck", but this one was PERFECT! Dropped in to check this place out with my husband. It was a Sunday early evening. It wasn't crowded at all and I did smell food cooking sooo. I was kinda iffy. Only ate hear three times, including today. Building is old and definitely not ADA compliant. Very full of character and atmosphere. Wait staff is cheerful and experienced and professional. Menu is contemporary. Four nice salads including the signature Blind Mule, a big salad with spring greens, tomato, mandarin oranges, stuff and your choice of no meat, chicken (grilled, fried or blackened) or shrimp (grilled, fried or blackened). Some of the very best burgers I've ever had. The appetizers include mushrooms, breaded and fried, with a mayo-horseradish dip, one order was enough for 4 of us! A lot of specialty dishes, like fried pickles, black bean and beef chili, lasagna, seared tuna wraps, and gulf seafood gumbo. Today we ate in a lovely courtyard with tables surrounding a running fountain. We didn't take advantage of the bar, but I have in the past. They have a lot of small brewery beer and ale choices, and the bartenders know how to mix a real drink. The restaurant has its own parking lot, though all 3 times I've been here the parking lot has been pretty packed by cars of people who parked and walked away. read more

A chill, dog friendly restaurant with a laid back vibe and delicious food. I got the blind bake which is essentially a creamy linguine cheese monster with shrimp. Loved it. My wife and I recently visited the Blind Mule on a Sunday morning. We arrived about 11:30 AM to a packed house. Our wait time was about 15 minutes as there are only about 12 tables inside. The atmosphere is rustic with an eclectic collection of art and other wall decor. We were surprised that the only menu option was a brunch. I chose a Monti Christo sandwich and my wife chose a chicken biscuit. Our server was prompt and courteous. Our drink orders were delivered in short order. Our food took a little time but arrived hot. My sandwich was made a little different from other sandwiches of this type I've had elsewhere. For me, the combination of flavors were good, not great. My wife was told the chicken biscuit would be very spicy, hot. She did not find that to be the case. Otherwise it was good. Both of us agreed that the food was good but not something we would go out of our way to go back and get. On a scale of 1 to 10...Ambiance 7, Service 9, Food 7, Menu (brunch) options 5. We went for the first time to check the pet friendly patio and because we were in the mood for burgers, but found out the place is overrated. We asked prior to sitting outside about availability, given the recent rain, after affirmative answer decided to come and sit, finding out the sits were all wet (oops!). I think the waitress had good intentions, but was not as attentive as the one serving the table next to us who clearly had ordered more food and drinks (strike 2). The meat in the burgers was overcooked/burnt despite requesting medium well. One burger had excessive amount of blue cheese which did not help the tasteless dry meet. The other burger was supposed to have bbq sauce but it was straight out salsa! Also messing up big time with the taste. These are not things to expect for a +14$ burger! The one thing I liked was waffle sweet potato fries. Lastly, we payed the Amex and we're charged 2$ for using card! (Strike 3). Who is using cash anyway these days? Portion size was just ok for the rice and beans, but maybe we were just extra hungry. Prices were a bit on the steeper side for Mobile I definitely would return, they have some lovely craft beers.
