First off let me state that I am a frequent customer to this art store. I have been going here for a few years and never really had that much of a problem with their staff. However today when I went in I was yelled at by one of their staff members that goes by the name of Marcus. He was very rude to me, made me feel unwelcome, and yelled at me. He was very discriminating to my medical condition and wasn't helpful at all. I will never be returning here because of this worker. read more

In a single purchase, they had all these problems/errors: (1) Blick will give you their web price when it's cheaper, but you have to remember each time, and if you forget to ask, nobody alerts you, even though their system obviously knows when the web price is cheaper. (2) The cashier didn't know how to do an exchange, so instead had to do a return of a product then a new sale of the same product, which resulted in me paying more for the same item, because it was no longer on sale. (3) The cashier didn't ring up brushes separately and instead just scanned the same brush over and over, charging me for the most expensive item multiple times. read more

I called looking for my favorite sketchbook that has been discontinued. This location had 5 on the shelf that they not only sold to me, but shipped to me in Illinois. This level of customer service from their Manager Marcus is exactly why I shop at this company and ONLY this company. All my art supplies and student's art supplies come from here. Thanks again for all your help!!! read more

This place is every artist's home away from home. I'm sure there are more beautiful art stores in further cities/states and distant countries, but this store does it for me in this region. Seriously, this place has everything. They offer a wide variety of art supplies for every art form aside from the most familiar art forms. There are a few aisles specifically designated towards each art. There was an entire aisle allocated for pencils and they were offering a great bargain. From my personal observation, they offer the largest selection of paint supplies, which was exactly why I visited this store and there was a spectacular deal on brushes (note: they do not carry all brands). I could easily spend a few hours in there, it was beautiful. The only downfall was the prices because I noticed that some commerce websites offer better deals on certain products (while other products are cheaper here than anywhere else). It just depends on what you're searching for to purchase but other than that, this place was a dream. However, they do offer a rewards system, student discount off regular priced items, and an online price match which could potentially diminish the price off certain products. To top it off, the staff was absolutely wonderful! I love that each employee knows exactly how to help each customer, and if they don't they are more than willing to communicate with a coworker. I recommend visiting this place if you're starting off with a new art form because the employees will definitely be able to assist you with any and all questions. I loved my visit here, and will definitely return. read more

-GREAT place to get you art supplies like canvases and painting and a lot of other stuff -discounts for students, and always have stuff on sale for everyone read more

Blick is a really well stocked art supply store. The staff is always friendly and they know their stuff. Took some brushes that I had in search of replacements and I found what I needed quickly and then some. I picked up a few canvases, some sketching pencils and a new sketch pad. Acrylics are reasonably priced as are the canvases. Brushes AOK I wish there were a bit more staple brands to chose from but really this is an excellent art store. read more

Overpriced really but the owner is a kick in the pants and I buy from him to support small independent businesses.

Great customer service. This is my first time here and first time taking a painting class. This guy, Adam, was very helpful with getting my supplies for the class. My goal was to spend least amount of money for the supplies, since I'm just starting out and Adam made that happen. I would've spent like $30 or even more without his help. read more

I been coming to this place since before it was blicks. It was another art store back in 2012 but that's how long I been coming here. Even now that I'm living in South of Los Angeles, I still choose to drive to this location. The staff has always been nice and very helpful when I have any question or even recommending products. I been to other stores where they would literally follow me around and make me feel uncomfortable. This place is totally different. So much different products to choose and the prices are awesome. This is the Go to spot. read more

WOW, what a surprise, it doesn't look impressive from outside, but what a gem it is inside! This is a great place to shop for art supplies because the parking is convenient, selection is enormous, the service is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable!!! I found everything I needed, and then some, and the comparison shopping I did gave me a substantial savings compared to their big store competition. read more

Just checked out Utrecht this afternoon. The store is well stocked with art supplies and they have TONS of paper. The layout is very clean and tidy which made things easy to find. Also, the workers told us all about Utretcht's private label of art supplies that is the same quality of the fancier brands but at lower prices. I have to say that I am a bigger fan of Art Supply Warehouse because they carry more products. But, Utrecht is definitely closer to my house. It's great to not have to drive all the way out to HB when I need some more white paint. read more

Came to this store to purchase some Montana Gold spray cans and was helped by a lovely, young lady with black hair. She was really nice and offered help numerous times around the store, never too pushy or bothersome while I took my time rummaging through everything. While I will say that I couldn't find all the colors I intended to purchase at this location, and did end up driving a little further to the Blick in Pasadena that had a much larger selection. But parking in downtown Pasadena is stressful! The prices in the store were higher than what was posted on their website, but given the nature of the spray cans being aerosol, I was advised that the end cost to purchase online and ship via ground would be more. Thus, being my first time in the store the nice sales associate helped me out and found an applicable 15% coupon. I also recommended joining their mailing list as I've received coupons since signing up. Dick Blick, you are a good man! read more

Customer personalized service. Thanks Gina for going beyond your line of duty to assist and help me.

So, I literally just left the store and in my car now. I was so impressed with how professional and nice the crew was. Bobby, Eunice and Kat helped me out. They answered all my questions and then some. This is why I drive 30 mins to come here. I'll be back! Thanks again, guys! read more

My goodness! I've never seen a foam poster board of such size and majesty. Blick's greatest quality is that it's a proper art store. It's one of the few brick and mortar stores that stocks lead for gravity pencils. It's neither cheap nor inexpensive, but if you want quality, you gotta pay. Girthy gravity lead besides, they've got a great collection of pencils, and that's a fine thing. read more

I've shopped online before with Blick but didn't know until a friend told me they had a store fairly close to me. We went and had a great experience! Friendly and helpful employees and a huge selection of products we were interested in. We will be back! read more

Everyone is very friendly here and will stop what they're doing to answer your questions. I just started painting and now almost nothing, but feel welcome and encouraged each time I come to Blick. read more

I got a few paint markers from this store mostly the krink ones and a few uni posca markers. Most of the markers were fine but i got some of the krink k-42's that must have dried up or something because getting a smooth flow of paint out of them was impossible. I tried to return the defective ones (the other ones worked great, awesome markers) and the employee tested them out and stated that i couldnt exchange them because she thought they worked fine and they had been used. They had to press down on the nib for more paint with every line drawn and even then the lines were streaky. Ended up just throwing them away because blick wouldnt take them and nothing i tried would fix them. Terrible read more

Always a super helpful staff! This is a bit smaller store footprint than the Pasadena location, but very well stocked. We come here once a month or so and always stock up. There are plenty of supplies to help inspire and feed your creative urges. The last time I was here, I bought a brush-style stylus to use with my iPad. Love it! read more

Found all I needed and then some! Only issue I have is their selection of calligraphy pens. Make sure you take advantage of their student discount! Great for any CSUF or FJC students in the area. read more

I love the attention and guidance available from the staff when the customer is in need of it. Natalie, Sarah and Crystal were amazing and helped me find specific items I needed, and also helped me set up my student discount at the store. They were very patient and kind with me, despite the fact that the store was supposed to be closing. I was also looking for a popular type of paper that happened to be sold out that day, but they checked on the next available shipment for me right away. I was working with a tight deadline and they even helped me to direct me to other stores that might carry the product to help me out. Blick is always my first choice when I'm in need of art materials and my favorite store when it comes to customer service. The employees there are amazing! read more

I went shopping the other day for a project, and I went in with just a vague idea of what I needed. When I walked in I wandered around for less than a minute before someone came up and asked if I needed help. I explained what I was trying to do and the staff was super helpful, suggesting different materials and explaining how everything worked. Such a great experience and everyone was so friendly and helpful. read more

I've been to the Blick in Pasadena but the difference between this one and that one over there is how much more friendly and helpful the employees here were. Right when I walked through the door, I was already asked if I needed help finding anything and they knew exactly where to take me. Not only that but while browsing in another aisle, another employee was attentive and asked if I needed help looking for anything. The store was very organized, well-kept, and I saw a variety of art supplies--easels, drawing boards, huge folders to hold prints, spiral bound and hardcover sketchbooks, watercolor and drawing pads, pens, markers, color pencils, paint, mixing trays, brushes, canvases, pencil pouches, and even container boxes to hold your supplies. read more

I like the staff, but a little pricey on items. Not a huge selection though. I will say that Bobby helped me and was amazing and so friendly!! Thank you for being so upbeat and kind Bobby!! read more

I love these stores compared to Michael's and Aaron Brothers. But the unfortunate thing is that there's not a lot of them around, I just happened to be in the area so I stopped by this one. There's none near where I'm at so I rarely go by these; maybe once or twice a year. Either way I love these stores because they have such a big selection for everything; drawing, painting, whatever. And during winter a lot of their stuff is also on sale. They have even more items on their website (like the Faber castell polychromos because no American stores sell those!). I really recommend this place if you're looking for a good selection of art supplies, also friendly staff. read more

Consistently well-stocked and friendly. Whenever I get it in my head that I want to try something new, odds are I can find what I need at blick. It can get a little pricey from time to time, but it beats paying for shipping on Amazon! read more

Coming from an artist, BLICK is the way to go for all of your supplies. They have all of the shading pencils/liner pens I need. The acrylic/oil paint section is unlike any other in terms of variation. I come here for everything I need when I have an upcoming piece or just to stock up. I believe the prices are justified for what you get. read more

recently this store opened close to cal state fullerton.. The first word i think is convient... definitely saves time and money as opposed to driving further to other art stores with possibly lesser selection. With cal state fullerton right around the corner Utrechet provides the neighboring art world with convenience quality and great environment. read more

As a noob in the realm of art products, Craig was so helpful right as Jonny and I walked in! I was looking for materials to create a backdrop for a Bridal Shower I was helping to organize. Craig helped me gather all the essential materials I needed at an affordable price point. I appreciated his patience and knowledge of the products in store! Great customer service all around! read more

The selection at BLICK is fantastic and far exceeds other art supply stores I have visited. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, especially Bobby, who assisted me today in selecting paints and in planning future art projects. He, and the store's selection, has made me a returning customer. read more

Absolutely the best art supplies store anywhere around here! Im SO GLAD I decided to stop in to check it out, I was forced into going Michaels b4 that! THE SALES ASSOCIATES ACTUALLY ARE THERE TO HELP ( Which unfortunately was a new experience in art stores for me, that I was very happy to experience). Now I only go there, some supplies cost more sometimes, but I'd rather give my money to helpful ppl who are glad to hv their jobs (and it shows)! read more

The other day, I bought a sketchbook from this store that I was really excited about, only to open it an hour later to watch all the pages fall to the floor. I assumed that I just got a defective sketchbook, so I decided to get another one the next day. Thinking it was worth a shot I asked the staff if it was possible to return and exchange the previous sketchbook I bought since all the pages fell out of the binding, and they said it was fine to exchange free of charge! This place is my absolute go-to for anything I need as an artist. I have yet to visit an art store that has better service than this one, because the staff is awesome. They are always around to answer questions and are knowledgable in the use of the supplies. read more

I am an art student and this store is a one-stop shop for PROFESSIONAL art supplies. They carry all of the top grade brands, and their own brand is excellent and priced reasonably. They offer a student discount card for an extra 10% off, and have excellent sales and coupons. The staff are helpful and nice. The store is clean and organized. read more

I had the same issue as Katie G. The website prices don't match their store prices. Their reasoning is that the difference is the "potential" shipping charge that I would have incurred. However, let's say I buy paint in store at $8, the online price might be $6. So if I wanted to buy in bulk I might have incurred $2 per tube if I bought it online?? Of course not. The shipping would have been inclusive. This is bad business policy. Either make them online-only prices or match the web prices like you claim to do. Until then I will shop elsewhere read more

This is a great, local art store with high-quality supplies for sale. It helps if you're a student or teacher, because you get a discount card that takes a fatty chunk off the price. The staff is very friendly, and know their stuff. Every time I go, the store is empty, so I hope enough people keep this place open. read more

We were looking all over for a certain size balsa wood and only Utrecht carried it! The staff was super awesome and went above and beyond expectations in service :) and there prices were way better than michaels! read more

You can find a huge variety of art supplies here that are both unique and also affordable. Some things are very expensive but you still save a lot going here rather than going to michaels. The sales are especially great around the start of a semester or school year. read more

I've shopped here for almost five years because it's conveniently located. I've had fun participating in their afternoon product demos. I've bought a lot of paint, brushes, sketch books - even an easel and an opaque projector this past year. After my encounter with a very cold employee this morning, I'm done with Blicks. I don't like my mood to paint being wrecked by snobby service as I run out to grab a handful of paint tubes. If it hadn't been for the positive experience at different types of businesses shortly after Blick's I would've wondered what I did wrong; was I looking crazy, etc. If it hadn't been for the negative experience at Blick's I wouldn't have googled other sources and found one in my rush to find paint today that was much, much better. . . and they spent a very long time by my side answering questions about brands I'd never used. No harm. No foul. Just another experience. read more

I've been here a few times to grab some paint markers for my grandpa! I always call ahead to ask if they have the supplies I need and every time I do, the person on the other side always answers all my questions and checks to see if the items are in stock. They usually almost always have the things I need. I go here to get the deco paint markers. All the workers I've encountered on the phone and in person have always been super customer friendly. Literally great customer service and they really know their stuff. I'm not sure of her name but she had blonde short hair and she helped me out when I walked in the other day. She seemed to know her stuff and recommended me the sharper extra fine tip markers and the guy who worked earlier that day that was on the phone was kind enough to leave the items at the register for me because I wanted to be in and out on my 30 mins lunch. Always a quick in and out! They also always have sales! Check em out. read more

This is the best place where to buy art supplies! I go there all the time and find almost all I need all the time. Staff is nice as well.
