I come here regularly (because it's the closest one to where I live) and in the scheme of things it's a decent Dick Blick. There are bigger ones in LA with greater selection but I'm ok with this store's smaller size. So why the two stars? It's because the staff consistently over-greets. Like I was there today and I dreaded going in because of the over-greeting that always happens and it happened again. In a matter of 3-4 minutes five people asked me "are you doing ok?" And one person asked me within 2 minutes after his first "are you doing ok" with a second "are you STILL doing ok?" Its disruptive, hollow, and awkward and makes me want to scream or just leave. Instead I just tune out and try my best to shop and get out as fast as I can. And the thing is that in the past when I've asked a question 90 percent of the staff don't have the answers. There's one staff (shorter mid-aged guy with dark hair whose name I don't remember) who knows a lot and who greets me with familiarity like "hey how ya doing ... good to see you again" and then he lets me shop. If i were rating this store ... smaller size and all ... with the kind of warm and gentle greeting and knowledge as practiced by this one guy it would be 5 stars. This is a great, local art store with high-quality supplies for sale. It helps if you're a student or teacher, because you get a discount card that takes a fatty chunk off the price. The staff is very friendly, and know their stuff. Every time I go, the store is empty, so I hope enough people keep this place open. read more

I always go here for my supplies. The people are always nice. Cheaper than Micheals, and have better supplies for fine arts.

Wish they had later hours... But other than that, Blick is awesome! Used to be Utrecht so they still carry those brand products and also blick products. The staff at this location is very kind, friendly and most of all HELPFUL! Always love coming here. Some stuff is pricey but they usually have a sale going on or a coupon running. Awesome for pens, I like to sketch with markers that have different thicknesses and this place is perfect! It's cheap and it also has tons of plain books to sketch and write in. This place is good for a variety of art projects and hobbies, but I haven't bought any paints or anything yet. read more

I have actually gone here twice the second time i forgot to check in because i was so excited about their sale. The workers know their paint stuff. if you have a question just ask. i would check this place out before you shop for paint any other place because they were cheaper then any other art and craft place i went. even when i used a 40% off coupon at other places. HANDS DOWN THE BEST BLICK STORE THERE IS!! Every employee was asking me how I was doing persistently and I really enjoyed that. Adam was very helpful as well as the manager. Adam helped me find the gesso I needed and the correct amount as well. I will be continually coming here for my art supplies! I got a steal on their clearance and museum stretched canvases! I'm so happy and I spent only $48.15 for the price of one canvas anywhere else. 48.15 for 2 gessos and one big museum stretched canvas! I can't explain how much better it gets then that. I definitely recommend new coming and starving artist to come here because OMG I LOVE THIS PLACE YAAAY!!!! IM SO HAPPY. cute little art store. Very organized with great friendly staff. My only thing about coming here is that their prices are definitely more than other places. I think this place is more expensive than Michaels and ASW (these 2 are closer in price). Some of the stuff I found at ASW is at least 50 cents cheaper than here. Some stuff can be found a 2-3 bucks cheaper than here. They do have some stuff that ASW doesn't have, but more expensive. Price is important to me. I heard there is a price match system through online search if you have a membership card and mailing list with coupons. I dunno if that system really picks up the cheapest price. read more

thankful to have a shop in the area, but i cannot get past the rude + unhelpful employees. there is always a weird, antsy vibe at this location. i had my canvases sitting face-up on the checkout counter + the dude working set a bag full of supplies of the ladies in front of me ON TOP of the canvases i was about to purchase. i told him not to do that ever again as it may warp the canvas + he was not apologetic, nor did he even care to listen. definitely fullerton students. read more

Smaller store, but everything was so organized and all of the employees were so nice and helpful. They have a lot of deals and sales too. I am a professional artist. I love your Fullerton store!! The customer service is amazing. I am always greeted as I walk in the door, taken to exactly what I need, the store rep, got everything down off the shelf for me, and carried it to the checkout. The prices are matched to their superior website, which I always use when I have advance notice, but when I don't, this store rocks. When artists can be served by fellow artists, who know what they are talking about, it makes buying supplies easy and quick, and I can get back to painting. read more

This place has been great to me! They cut my card stock paper for me since Utrecht did not carry the right size that I needed. It is close to Cal State Fullerton, which makes it more convenient than Art Supply Warehouse in Westminster. The staff was very friendly and was always willing to help me find items in the store or check inventory in one of their other stores. Their prices are not unreasonable, the store is extremely well-organized, and their wide range of products is wonderful! I have no idea why Danushka C. was so upset with the store, she should have kept it in order to get a refund (which it clearly states on the receipt). I am so fed up with Blick. This art store used to be Utretcht, they used to offer 10%-15% off for art students, you simply had to state which art school you attended or that you were in an art program at Cal State Fullerton or whatever. Then they opened it up to 10% off to anyone with a preferred card. They used to carry an array of good paints and surfaces and materials, I personally loved to get my Rembrandt paints there and their regular utretcht canvas panels were well manufactured and really affordable. Then Blick took over. Soon I could not purchase Rembrandt paints in store, I had to order them online. About two months ago I realized that there was no longer a discount when I swiped my preferred card. When I asked the cashier they told me that they no longer offer the discount but instead offer a web match rebate... from Blick's website.... from a Blick owned store where Blick controls the prices.... Today I went in to get one of the cheap panels that I love, only to not be able to find them. Instead they had stacks of multiple panels from Blick, you could not get them individually. I again asked the cashier, "oh I think we're getting rid of those and trying to bring in Blick's brand of panels" :/ I also noticed prices on things went up a couple dollars all around the store. And the mailed in coupons I would get twice a month that used to say 20%-40% off of one non sale item have now turned into: 20% off entire purchase of $50 or more. What a joke. So much for having an art store close by... I feel so bad for the art students around here. Makes more sense to go all the way out to Westminister to Art Supply Warehouse... read more

Very nice and helpful staff but the prices are ridiculous. Paid $21 for 8 Sakura pens. The same pens are $6.99 on Amazon!. Their sketchbooks are also way overpriced. If you're willing to wait a day or 2 for shipping you're definitely better off. read more

This Blick store was smaller than the one in Pasadena but thankfully closer to where I live. Customer service is great staff is very helpful and very informative in supplies I was looking for and answered all my questions on certain supplies I got. I will be coming again soon! read more

I'm writing this to show my appreciation for the associate named Craig who works at this location. I'm a graphic design student and I arrived with an extensive list of supplies I needed to purchase. Craig greeted me as soon as I entered the store, grabbed a shopping basket, and guided me around the store helping me find exactly what I needed. Not only was he polite and helpful, he was also very conversational about art and painting. This Fullerton Blick is the most unwelcoming art store I have ever been too. The customer service is annoying and horrible. The cashier (shelby?) was pestering me my entire visit. If came off like she thought I didn't know what I was doing. Her gross voice was ringing in my ears. But hey that shouldn't reflect on the store. One of the "managers" is simply heartless. I think her name started with a J. She didn't want to hear anything I was saying and brushed off the whole transaction like nothing. I didn't feel like a customer, I felt like a number. It's dark in the store too, down the drawing aisle I always feel like I'm blinded by that one light shining down it. Blick is Pasadena is waaay better. And the employees in Pasadena are actual artists, unlike this Fullerton location. This one employee was trying to help me in their sad "sculpture" aisle. He didn't know a thing about clay and pretended like he did. Bunch of horrible people working here. AND the store is waaaaay too small. read more
