Our late 1920's Depression Era Sidebar Buffett

We searched out and talked to a number of Southland antique stores in an effort to identify what to us was a family heirloom. Nobody we called gave us any information. Then we called George's Antique. We texted Brenda some pictures and she not only identified the Sidebar Buffet from the Depression Era, but provided a number of hints to better understand the quality of the piece we owned while we waited for George to get back to the store. Our buffet was not something worth a lot, but we now know exactly what we have and appreciate that we were provided the info without even having to ask. Brenda even gave us some tips for improving the finish. These people appeared to us to like these old pieces of furniture for the way they were well crafted and appreciated by families that owned them for generations. Nice to encounter folks like these in retail today.

Customer service from the ladies working there was very unwelcoming and unprofessional was a very disappointing experience.

Ask the Community - George's Antiques

I have an old flatware set that my parents got for their wedding in 1964. Can I bring it in to have it appraised?

Inventory appears healthy, though as other reviews mentioned, prices are slightly higher than similar plant stores and nurseries. When I came on a Sunday afternoon, there was a workshop happening (the other two-thirds of the space), so classes are probably where the Green Place focuses most of their efforts I would guess. The associate up front wasn't friendly or unfriendly, but I also didn't feel compelled to leave with a new houseplant. Maybe if the occasion arises, it would be a fun spot to do a group activity - but personally, that isn't today for me.

I got into getting house plants lately and was super excited to see this place so near my home…read more They had a bunch of selections from what I saw with plants of all sizes and types. The plants I got were some Pothos, Dracaena, and Monstera. I loved that they explained to me how to take care of the plants. The team there also helped me select the plants that would be best for the amount of light that comes into my place. The average cost for the plants I bought were around $12-15 and I'd say they're about small-medium sized plants. As a bonus, they also partnered with another small business that offers pottery painting towards the back of the store. You could probably purchase a plant and then paint something to put the plant in. How cool!
