We are very happy we made the switch over to Bleyle. We are very happy with the service we have been receiving. Everyone at Bleyle Elevator is friendly and helpful. It started with Marco back in May 2022 who convinced me to switch. Stephanie was always friendly and helpful in questions and scheduling. Victor took time to explain and answer my technical questions. I always felt like a valued customer. I wish to give a big shout out and thank you to our Technician Mike. He is great person to work with. He is always friendly, at our building every month to perform the monthly service and he never hesitates to answer my questions. This guys are rude, starting with the dispatcher, so raising his voice when asking for a second time to move one of the service trucks, then the driver comes to move his truck and also very rude, we are paying for street use and have no parking, no stopping signs specifying that is for our Daily use. I live in a building where Bleyle services our 1927 elevator. I expect an elevator of that age might have issues, but it's more the way things have gone that is my problem. Our elevator first broke in April 2024, was out for almost 3 months, was back in service for a few days and then out for another month or so. Since it came back now, it breaks down every other day or so. Whatever Bleyle is doing to fix the elevator is flat out not working. There are a number of seniors and people with disabilities in our building who rely on a working elevator, so having it go out every few days is horrible. I'm not sure what rubber band and band aid approach they are taking to fix our elevator, but they need to get their act together. At this point, I'm sincerely hoping our property manager finds a new company to fix/maintain our elevator because this is ridiculous. read more

Our company has a few locations serviced by Bleyle Elevator. This company has helped with many elevator issues in our old buildings. They are quick to respond and they get the job done! We know old elevators have a lot of issues but Bleyle is always there to figure it out. Bleyle was hired by our HOA to service our 1996 building elevator. At first they were enthusiastic and efficient but as time has passed the professionalism has faded. Our elevator has had problems and been out of service for weeks at a time which is very difficult for someone such as myself who has a minor disability and finds stairs difficult. This last time they have taken 10 days to address the issue other than marking it out of service and it appears they demanded a deposit before they would order the parts, this in spite of having an agreement with our building management and being a longstanding customer. This demand was arbitrarily made. They actually would not order the parts until the mail arrived and they could see the check in their hands. I am very disappointed in this sort of service, there would seem to be a need for some better customer relations training. read more

Our apartment building in San Francisco has a very old, sensitive elevator. It's a huge pain when it comes to maintenance. Working with the Bleyle team for our elevator needs has been refreshing! This review is for one of their techs- Martin- SO GOOD! He was so persistent and really took Comcast to town over getting the phone set up correctly in my building's elevator. We had been back and forth with Comcast for about two months trying to figure out the phone line issue and Martin was very diligent to make sure the problem got solved, finally. Overall, Bleyle is responsive and a good company. I'm not crazy about their prices, but from what I hear all elevator repair people are. read more

Bleyle Elevator is a well-run business with hard-working, respectable employees. I am from a student group on Stanford's campus that was looking to find an old elevator button panel to use for a short film. Bleyle Elevator was kind enough to work with us and give us an old panel that we could use. They are also prompt with their responses and run an organized business. The techs are ok but if you have to deal with the people in the office you'll regret it. They lack basic customer service skills. Maybe it's like the other reviewer said "they don't have competition" so that makes them unlikely to keep appointments or other things that good businesses do. Bottom line is that if you have to use them then you have to use them but if you can use another company, I would recommend it. read more

I use Bleyle to service a number of elevators in the buildings I manage. I've found them to be quite responsive and there rates to be reasonable. Erik and his crew are very knowledgable about some of the older elevators that are all to common in the city. Sophie is quite helpful as well... It's a pleasure doing business with them. read more

Called and the friendliest, most knowledgable people picked up, and walked me through what I needed - THEN... ready for this... just DROPPED IT OFF. For Free. Because they're great guys. A few good points: they have always been on time for appointments, always sent friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff, and we have never had a major catastrophe with our elevator. They also have an after-hours answering service and can page someone for emergencies. Areas for improvement: they admitted frankly that they have no competition and ample business, so don't need to try very hard to keep customers. They won't service small buildings unless they did the installation. Along these lines: they WILL NOT initiate regular service contract appointments (they leave it to the customer to remember to call for regular checks). They WILL NOT follow up on unpaid invoices (they send one, and if it's not paid, they just may refuse to serve you next time). They WILL NOT return phone calls (we were promised phone calls by techs which never came through). They don't communicate appointment needs to the tech (I booked a service appointment with a few specific problems; the tech showed up unaware of those problems and without the necessary equipment to fix it in that visit; he promised me he would come back within a month or two to complete the work at no charge, but never did). They also have "fixed" the elevator a few times without ever finding out why it was stuck or being able to recommend how to not get it stuck again in the future. So, we haven't had any devastating problems with this company, now that we know how to work with them. On the other hand, we would definitely switch to someone else if there were a qualified competitor with better customer service. read more

We were recommended by Bleyle to modernize our older elevator. It was costly. Ever after the modernization, the elevator keeps breaking down as the same as before. We asked if there is any warranty on the costly modernization, at the very least they should provide one month warranty for their labor. Unfortunately, There is none. Each time they come out and do trouble-shooting, we are charged hundreds. The invoice shows hours of work they put in while they really spend minutes at the mechanic room. read more

As a Sr Property Manager who has dealt with a lot of elevator companies, I am SO happy to have found Bleyle! We went through multiple rip-off firms who had no clue what they were doing, then we found Bleyle! It was a light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Bleyle's crew knows their stuff! Erik, the owner, is incredibly knowledgable and helpful, and he completely understood our needs and what we had been through. I work as a property manager in the bay area. I used to use Bleyle at some of my properties, but it became quite apparent that they were not the most organized company in the world. I gave them two stars, because they are willing to do the work, you just have to jump through hoops to get it done. Awhile back, I got a call from an employee of Bleyle who was not the regular guy who serviced my building. He said he was outside the building, and that he didn't know the door code to get in. After having a previous employee of Bleyle enter the building with no trouble whatsoever, I was skeptical to believe that Bleyle wouldn't give the new employee the door code/key to the elevator area. When I sounded suspicious, he tried to be polite, but seemed offended that I was slightly worried about letting a stranger into one of my buildings. This same employee, then proceeded to call me the next 3 or 4 times he needed entrance to the building, because he couldn't remember the code. Why he didn't bother to write it down is beyond me. When I asked him what happened to the old keys, he said that he's not sure, and that maybe the old employee took them when he left the company... Which would obviously pose a major security threat for the building. The other thing that really got to me, was their invoices. I see tons of invoices every day in my office (Thousands every month). Invoices come in all different types of formats, depending on the vendor. Some of which are easier to decipher than others. We sat down with some of Bleyle's invoices (3 of us with over 30+ years experience in property management), and still couldn't figure out how they were coming up with their charges. The hourly rate never seemed to be the same (and yes, we are aware that elevator companies charge outrageous and different prices for overtime hours). Recently, they told us that they no longer want to do business with us (THANK GOD)... Since we were trying to figure out a good way to drop them any ways. They were pissed that we were getting bids from other companies that were significantly cheaper, and to be frank, seem to be much more reliable. At first, I was offended, since I was just doing my job as a manager. But that feeling quickly faded when I realized that I didn't, and still don't, want someone responsible for keeping the elevator "safe", if they can't remember 4 numbers, let alone take 2 seconds to write them down. Bashing aside, most of the employees were polite with me, and they do make sure they fix what they claim needs to be fixed... But so do plenty of other companies. If you have time to waste on interpreting invoices, and don't mind the lack of organized, then maybe they're the right company for you. For me? I'll continue to use our other companies. read more

Can't say enough good things about Bleyle and the service we received from them. Helpful, informed and intelligent customer service, coupled with prompt scheduling and follow through. What's not to love! The world of elevator repair is a small one - in the past, we dealt with large companies who promised to show up for appointments, but failed to do so repeatedly, and who specialized in patronizing customer service. Not so with Bleyle! We were faced with a difficult situation - our elevator was "red-tagged," and our non-profit was at the beginning of a complex move. We needed the elevator to work! Sophie and her brother, Eric - yep, Bleyle is a family venture - helped us through the various stages of working with the state elevator division, and got our elevator up and running.
