The installers were very nice, clean and prompt. The unit is pretty good, though for $10K + you'd expect at least that. The unit is very sturdy tho the design could be better (key needs to be left in the unit so it is easy to bend it, the seat only swivels at the top of the stairs, not the bottom). It started every once in awhile not responding when the switch was pushed, tried a new remote battery, recharged the big battery, etc. It stopped 3 times just before the landing and it was a little troublesome getting the disabled person off the seat mid-air. When we called to see about having it serviced we were told the labor was only covered for 3 months (we called at 4 months tho it had been acting up randomly for a couple months) AND the labor was almost $400 for the first hour PLUS one hour of travel time PLUS $40 every 15 minutes or so after the first hour. Hopefully you will never need one of these, but if you do, be sure to ask about the labor, and what the charge is. Parts are covered for a year--so why not labor???
