I started checking the internet on Friday to learn about stair lifts. Mihir was the first to respond to my inquiries. He said he could install a chair and gave me a date two weeks out. I want to commend Golden Home Access for their excellent service. I needed a vertical platform lift for my house and called them. They were priced competitively with two other bids I had. I had a step-down from the kitchen to the garage, where the lift was to be installed, with a concrete step. What attracted me to their proposal was that they would take care of not just the installation of the unit, but also the removal of the concrete step and adapting electrical wiring to accommodate the unit. The other bids I had did not cover one or the other of these latter two items and required me to find separate contractors to attend to them. When the delivery of the unit was delayed by the manufacturer, they came by and installed a temporary ramp at no extra charge. Then, when the unit arrived, the installer was very professional. We needed additional bars added to the existing ones that had been installed almost ten years ago when we moved to our senior community (Oakmont) in Santa Rosa. The people we had install the first bars went out of business and there does not seem to be anyone up here in Santa Rosa that does this anymore, and I was concerned about buying bars on the internet and having a local handyman install them because I wanted a pro with experience and the proper drills and fasteners, especially dealing with the tile. Technician Colin did a great job. While they do not the others match exactly, they are close enough, and he did a superb job of installing them and cleaned up so well. He is a really nice guy and has a professional, yet friendly interaction with the client. He showed me a few alternatives and helped us pick the best.
