While walking through the delightful little village of Steveston, we saw the sandwich board sign outside advertising Honey Oat Tea Lattè. The worst Matcha Latte I ever had! It was so weak and mostly milk. I did bring it back for more Matcha, but it still was weak. Even Starbucks Matcha Latte was better. Yikes!! read more

This is my go-to place for matcha latte and hot dark chocolate drinks. It has been consistently good until today. Maybe it depends on who the barista was but my matcha latte was way off point. I took a few sips to confirm it was really bad before deciding to go back and asked if something could be done. Usually I would have sucked it up and put it to an off day but I did not really want a very watered down drink when I had my heart set on a rich creamy beverage for my walk. The matcha latte was very diluted and tasted more of water than tea or milk. I had no idea what went wrong but it did not had that foamy creamy rich taste of the matcha latte that I usually had here. See my previous pictures of the matcha latte. The barista did not know what was wrong either and said nobody had complained about it. To her credit, she added extra matcha powder but when it didn't make any difference, she added milk. Nope, still not the same. I wondered if the milk needed to be steamed to the creamy foamy texture to get that taste I have come to like at blenz? Other than the unsatisfying matcha latte, I usually had pretty good drinks here. read more

My first time at Blenz coffee and here in Richmond. Caitlin or Katelin (I'm sorry if I misspelled it) was the barista and she was very welcoming and so helpful to elders or everyone. It was nice meeting her hope to see her again (if you're seeing this add me on IG knarfotos)..... I love this village steveston. I'll come back in a couple years. The espresso was good :) read more

We are generally not a chain coffee friend, but we were kind of in a hurry. Which is funny because we got a Barista in training. (-s-l-o-w...) well, as one Buddhist author Thich Nhat Hanh wrote, "Take Your Time." I like to imagine there is a reason I am waiting. Breathe in breathe out..... We waited a while but the Espresso Macchiato was good. We have found customer service in here to be friendly, and it's all about the location here in the Steveston Village. I would not go out of my way to have coffee here, as there is a local Roaster just up the road, but if you're here this is a better choice than st*bx across the street. read more

Over the years the locals have changed but the coffee is still the same. Today on a summer weekend evening you'll hear the chatter of Mandarin and English in the background with the clatter of coffee cups as cutlery and the La Cimbal espresso machine steaming away frothy cappuccinos and lattes. The aroma of coffee wafting in the back of your tongue. It's warm and inviting and the wooden tables and leather chairs make for nice casual Java pause. Yet the two of us are busy writing articles and reviews for our respective posts. And of course there I am also contributing to Yelp. Faithfully and dutifully it seems. I've been coming here since it opened and it's a good casual place to relax. The lattes are good and if you like matcha, then this is the place to be. I can't stand that Starbucks junk they serve called by the same name. Although I do like the Bucks, in Steveston I prefer it here. So tweet and #socialmedialize here and have a snack. Get out of the house, grab a coffee and go for a stroll down a pretty scenic town like Steveston and make Blenz a part of your micro-adventure. Do the boardwalk, hold hands, reminisce about fond memories. If your alone do the same and ponder about the good in life wherever and whatever that may be. Time to play Pokemon now. read more

They had a sign outside for "free hot chocolate for kids on Sunday". Lined up in a long line up with my nephews on a Sunday. When I got to the cashier and ordered hot chocolate for myself and my nephews, they advised that the kids wouldn't get free hot chocolates because they decided not to honour the deal on their signage because "it was busy that day." However they did not remove the signage. So I ended up paying for all the hot chocolates so as to not disappoint my nephews. It was another long wait to actually get the hot chocolate. Rather overpriced as I ended up spending $15 for hot chocolate. A wait is understandable when it is busy but the right thing to do would be to remove the signage so your customers are not waiting in a long line up for a deal that you are not honouring despite your advertisement that you are. read more

* Training is SO important! * Of the chain coffee houses, Blenz is my favourite. (Yes, it is a worldwide chain but it started in downtown Vancouver at least!) Their hot chocolates are a superb winter treat made by melting real chocolate discs. Their "matchchillo" made with yogurt is a lovely summer blended drink to cool off as well. So they get my chain coffee business (on those times when I just need a chain coffee free wifi experience). But this location really needs to train its staff MUCH better. The cashier was having troubles taking everyone's orders. I thought it must have been her first day, but then some other clues made it clear she's been there a while. Yikes! read more

I hate over priced coffee. BUT this place was nice. I guess this is Canadian's version of Starbucks. But this place is really good. I stop going to Starbucks a long time ago. But the Flavor of Blenz Coffee is so rich. The employees are real friendly, not the robots of other places. I approve this place and would recommend it to friends traveling to Canada. read more

Love the location of this Blenz. Tuck right in the middle of steveston village area, it's one of those locations where you actually go out of your way to get to. Though the whole area can get quite busy in the summer, during the colder months it does get quite peaceful. And when compared to the waves and starbucks down the street, it def has the more calm atmosphere. Love the Belgian hot chocolate at Blenz. Easily tops what both waves and starbucks has to offer. Street parking free 2 hours. Pay parking across the street. Latte Art certificate shown right beside pick up area, but no latte art was found on my drink the last time I went. read more

This Blenz is the worst. The barista this morning put a half pump of vanilla in my large London Fog this morning and when I asked for another she told me that one pump is in the recipe. So, No. I wonder how much goes in a small cup? My muffin is also stale. My daughter is at least happy with her chocolate. read more

I live in the states but everytime I visit my family I make sure I stop by there to relax and enjoy the fresh air. They are always very nice in there and are very personable. When I had went back 6 months after my last time the lady automatically recognized me. It made me feel important. And not only do they seem to care....their drinks and food are delish! read more

Perfect drinks every time. Service is good sometimes, but at times the baristaas could be a bit rude. Drinks are perfect.
