Got their teddy bear latte with vanilla flavor! Very adorable! It took a long time for the bear ice cube with the coffee flavor to melt a bit and for the coffee flavor to mix with the milk, so most of the time I think I was just drinking the milk... They did mention this in their menu, so can't really complain... would suggest pouring some hot coffee over the bear ice cube to help with this! read more

I came to get some laptop work done and ordered a tea. The ambient noise was a bit much for me. There are seats towards the back that could have been quieter, but not suitable for sitting with a laptop, which is unfortunate. The drink was refreshing, though I think I prefer their hot beverages. I had issues connecting to the Telus open network, and they do not offer their own Wi-Fi. I'll come back and try again, but this visit was not as productive as I'd hoped. read more

It's a cloudy day, cold, but not raining. This place was busy when I came it and a little loud. Then it dies down and it's quiet. Place is big, lots of different tables, benches, and comfortable sofa at the end. It accommodates a lot of people. Staff is friendly. Coffee is a little expensive, $3.75 drip coffee. There are a lot of food choices, from samosa's to carrot cakes. They are fresh, wrapped in plastic. A butter chicken wrap is $13. There is no wifi of their own. Says on their chalkboard we can use Telus wifi. There's plenty of parking on the street around the block. Windows are big, lots of ambient light. It's in a small town in Steveston. Plenty of tourists. They close early too so if you are planning to work, study late there are plenty of other coffee places in the area. read more

My fave coffee shop in Steveston located at the corner across the park. They serve delicious coffees and pastries - perfect accompaniment to strolls along the wharf and trails. They have ample seating inside and bright airy interiors. Coffee is made well and the wait for drinks was not so bad. It can be a bit chaotic at the waiting area for drinks though. read more

Nothing beats coffee on a sunny day! Went to Steveston and decided to get cold brew from this café. The cold brew was strong and they used coffee beans that has a more acidic/sour taste. It's definitely a different taste from Starbucks and in the beginning, it tasted a little strange to me. However, once I drank more, I got used to the taste and thought that it was quite good. I like how they also offer outdoor seating under the shade -- it was very relaxing to drink coffee and people watch. read more

Honestly, I come back to this place for the Teddy Bear Latte (vanilla, iced, with a few spoonfuls of Spouse's hot coffee to help the espresso bear melt. It's silly and delicious. This is a nice place to sit out a rainstorm, with its high ceilings, modern decor and wall to wall windows looking out on to Stevetson. Service is friendly and there is a good selection of snacks, including a banana bread I would not have known was gluten-free is Spouse didn't tell me. I see that this place has a cult following and I understand why. They roast their own beans, the place is light and spacious and you get to customize your drink with an array of different sweetners and creams. However, and don't come at me for this, I love my coffee bold and intense so I asked if I could have 2 shots of espresso with my drink. That caused a lot of confusion and the staff had to consult each other to see if that was possible. Very odd because it shouldn't have been too much of a problem. Eventually they said they could do it. My coffee, even with the extra espresso was eh at best and definitely on the weaker side. Are you unfortunately this is the second time we've been here and had the same experience with staff and the coffees we purchased. They say they use a medium roast but it's definitely more of a light roast. The beans just aren't that strong and the coffee has a fruitiness this taste to it. The service is mediocre as I'm not sure if it's just a language barrier but the staff just always seem uninterested in interacting with the customers. The inside of the shop is really nice, and they have a reading area towards the back that looks pretty cozy. read more

If you're looking for a good cup of coffee in the Steveston Village, look no further, because Rocanini has you covered. Everytime I've come in here I've either gotten a black drip coffee or an oat milk latte, and each time my drink has satisfied all of my caffeine needs. They also serve different sandwiches and pastries, including To Die For's banana bread - which is my fave. Any time I see that a cafe offers this, I can't not get it. If you've never tried this banana bread, 1) it's vegan and 2) it's freaking delicious and a must get! This is probably one of the biggest coffee shops in the area. With plenty of seating options and strong wifi, it's a great place to get some study/get some work done on your laptop if you need. I've spent my fair share of time at this coffee shop since it's fairly close to my house. We came 15 minutes to closing time and could only order the drinks to go. I was a bit disappointed but I get it. I wanted to try the teddy bear latte and the lesson is definitely don't order it to go because it just looked sad drowning in a paper cup. I asked for the latte unsweetened because I usually prefer my coffee black and unflavored but the staff taking my order "strongly recommended" that I pick a flavor when I asked for the drink unsweetened so I felt pressured to do so. The teddy bear coffee itself did not taste great either. There wasn't a strong coffee taste even though I had it half sweetened and the overall taste was very watered down was some syrup. read more

If this place were to be located anywhere in Vancouver it would probably be packed.... packed with people and their laptops either doing work/homework.. or pretending to do those two things.... the other thing that it would have is a fair amount of hipsters sitting around setting their base of operations here, it is that comfortable... but because it is located in Steveston Village, none of the above really apply! Coming to Steveston Village to walk off a filling dim sum lunch we eventually needed somewhere to sit around, and what better than this place. Big, bright, and has caffiene to keep some of the food coma people from falling into their deep sleep. It is probably the best place to sit in, people watch through the big windows on the side, and also very bright from the decor and from the high ceilings, makes things comfortable unlike anything near water here, which is filled with tourists. For me, the only thing I really order is their in-house roasted regular coffee, but they do drip/syphon coffee's, latte's.... and other things... which I have not tempted. On this day they had some samples of poppy seed cake out to try. There is the stereo-typical communal table in the front, and many side tables, some that fit 2, some that fit 4. Regardless where you are... it's a bright, pleasant place. If your needing caffeine, and not wanting the green mermaid across the street... wanting something local... unique... this is the place, and a nice place at that... whether you want to take it to go... or actually enjoy what this place has to offer is up to you. On this day.. the coffee was really good... there are days that are off (sour), but usually it's bang on. If you want water, it's self serve... probably the most relaxing place in Steveston that doesn't really play into 'Once Upon A Time'. read more

This is a nice place to hang with some friends. I had the day off and wanted to enjoy the sun and walk. After a brief stroll around Steveston, I came here to enjoy a latte and muffin. The staff is very welcoming and patience as an elderly gentleman ahead of me had a lot of questions. It appeared that this was the first time he's been there and/or had any specialty coffee. The interior is bright and modern. Lots of windows so you can watch people outside, using the 'scramble' intersection crossing. It is the same as the famous Shibuya Crossing where all traffic stops and pedestrians can cross diagonally, left and right. I does get busy on the weekends so even with lots of different types of seating, you may not find one. * read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this coffee shop before. I have been coming to do my work here for a few years now. Their tea is more expensive than most shops but I am here for a long hours at a time and I always refill my teapot 3-4x to make it worth it. The only (big) problem I have is hygiene. Rocanini Coffee Roasters' cafe in Steveston is a 45 seater spacious and bright cafe in the heart of Richmond's Fisherman's village offering handcrafted coffee from beans roasted at their Mount Pleasant roastery since 2010. With a large, bright corner location and high quality, locally roasted product, this cafe is a gold mine in Steveston Village. Espressos and pour overs are what they serve most and the Americano is the best one I've EVER HAD. The space inside feels as much like a gallery in many ways. The lighting for example is a conversation by itself. A large dramatic chandelier hangs over a long wooden communal table in the front. The floral arrangements are artfully placed in large vases around the cafe. There are smaller tables along the large front windows. Tables along the windows are also adorned with contemporary metal wire shades of drop down lighting. The floor leads your eye to the far wall, and I do mean far! That wall at the back is wood, and all lit up by the large windows. See pict's. You have to see this place. You could literally do cartwheels down the middle it's so spacious. Fresh baked pastries from a local bakery, Paninis and a variety of choices for coffee as well as the most opulent looking siphoned coffee set up I've ever seen! The drinks are divine looking with some of the finest latte art hearts. A mocha drifted past that was dark and chocolatey. My own beverage was pure excellence, the perfect balance of bold and sweet. The customer service seems top notch and there are a lot of them working at once. I can't see this place as anything but a success, blowing the competition out of the water.
