Every trip my partner and I make we always try new coffee places. The coffee is pretty good. We got the walnut and chocolate chip cookie which was fabulous. The service is good and the place is clean. The music is super chill. Its not too loud in this place. I was able to talk and I could hear my partner. Some places it's hard to hear people. Pallet coffee is an oasis in the world of bad coffee. They sell gently roasted estate grown coffee. Real coffee is best drunk black. Like wine it has overtones of fruit and chocolate and has a natural sweetness. The croissant is wonderful too. Very sweet and informative staff. I took home two bags of Honduran coffee that is just a delight--Finca el Pedrero. Starbucks has convinced everyone on the West Coast that coffee tastes best over roasted to turpentine. Even in the better restaurant the coffee is undrinkable. read more

Very positive experience. The barista that took my order was so friendly and made sure to put me at a table where there would be room to store the big instrument I was carrying. They were pretty busy but the assigned seating system took the stress out of finding and choosing a place to sit. Nicely designed place, both in terms of aesthetic and the layout, which fits in lots of seating but isn't cramped. I got the Nordic salmon toast, a walnut chocolate chip cookie, and a rooibos tea. All great! Fresh toppings and tasty dill cream cheese on the toast. The cookie was really really good, soft, buttery, chewy, packed with big chunks of chocolate. The tea, although it was just a regular brewed tea, was particularly nice too. They removed the tea leaves before giving it to me and it was brewed perfectly strong with a deep flavour. The prep time for the food was fast enough that I was in and out in about half an hour. Will probably make a lunch stop here again. read more

We got to the cashier/barista and she was so patient with my boyfriend asking for pumps of vanilla or caramel. She kindly explained that they were slowly getting rid of vanilla syrup and transferring to other flavors. Instead, she offered that he get the Top Shelf. Which has notes of raspberry, black tea, chocolate and floral with lime (we even bought a bag to bring home - $25!) The pastries were also very yummy! They came cold but he and i didn't mind so much! Great quality coffee in a very cute and trendy coffee shop. They bake their own pastries and I was lucky enough to get the bluberry yuzu muffin straight out of the oven. It did take a while to get my coffee but this cafe is a must try when in the area. read more

What a disorganized fucking mess this place is. Don't come for a breakfast sandwich unless you're ok with waiting twenty minutes. Today was my third time ordering food (which is a build your own concept) and by far the worst experience I've had. The other times, the wait was about eight minutes, which is fine for something made fresh. Today, my sandwich was served to the wrong person, who ate half before realizing it was in error. He then had to go tell the counter staff, who were mystified by their own mistake. "How could this happen etc" blaming one another for the error and ultimately, sinking the entire team. Must be frustrating for them, as it was so casual, that it likely happens a lot. Coffee is decent, the sandwich I eventually got was pretty good, as were the previous ones. This place is best if you are not in a hurry. read more

This is a terrible place for coffee. The staff is incredibly slow and are also poorly trained and have little knowledge of coffee. I tried it for the first time yesterday. I watched as the barista put the entire espresso shot glass into my paper cup and walked away - glass and all. He then came back and retrieved the shot glass from within the cup. This means the outside of the shot glass which had been repeatedly touched was now rubbing the inside of my cup. When I pointed that out to him and asked him to make me a new coffee, he explained that he rinses the inside of the shot glass between uses. I literally had to explain to him that they do not wash the outside of the shot glass and they shouldn't be dropping it into the inside of cups. I had ordered a latte with honey and when it was finally done, it tasted artificially sweet but by that point, I just took it and left. I thought I would try them again and they were even worse the second time. First, the barista was impossibly slow. I was the third order in line and it was over 15 minutes wait (I checked my time stamped receipt). I then noticed her pump some syrup from a bottle into my latte (I had ordered it with honey). I looked at the bottle and it was honey flavored syrup. I read the ingredients and it was dextrose and water with honey flavoring. It explains why my drink the previous day tasted so artificial. I asked them if they had honey and they told me that that was what they used. I explained to them that that was not honey and they should have told me that they did not have honey when I ordered and paid for it. Every staff member at this location seems genuinely clueless. read more

Forever!!! The only time you get good service and quick service is when a lady (i call her the positive funny and cool lady). Her name is Sanju i think. This place is great! I've been a few times since they opened, and it's been a consistently great coffee shop each time. They make great drinks - the mochas and chai lattes are on point, flavourful and not overwhelmingly sweet - and if it's busy enough for a line they'll sometimes come ask you for your drink before you even make it to the cash register so they can get things started already. The sweets are good too, with great salted brownies and crumbly cookies and more to snack on if you've got a sweet tooth. I haven't tried the meal-type dishes yet, since those seem a little pricey, but I'm sure the quality is there given that everything else is so good. The inside feels pleasant, modern, and spacious too. It's not quite optimized for laptoppping the way other places sometimes are, but there are outlets and there's free wifi, so if you can snag an out-of-the-way spot it's a nice place to get some work done, and I can see it being a good place to sit down for a casual conversation with others as well. I'm glad to have another coffee shop chain to add to my relatively short list of favourites! Definitely looking forward to coming here more in the future. read more

Very cute coffee shop. Ordered an ice latte and it was decent. I found that their lids was quite loose and it also kept leaking. Couldn't quite tell if my espresso was strong as the barista tried to empty out their milk jug and dumped it all in my cup so my espresso was mainly diluted from the amount of milk in it. read more

Let me tell you about my butter addiction. I was running late on my way to therapy, "fudgecicles" I thought, "I'm not going to make it to small victory in time for a small victory!" Feeling like a loser I hurriedly biked down Howe St. when out of the corner of my eye, Pallet Coffee roasters caught my eye. They probably won't have croissants, I thought, but holding a warm beverage always helped me cope with tiny lost opportunities. When lo and behold! Behind the glass display a croissant sat - fat round and golden. Now I know what you're thinking, but Small Victory surely has better. Mais non! Sacré bleu! After munching that golden roll in under what felt like 3 seconds I can tell you these ones are probably just as good if you are a butter addict comme moi. It was like eating a socially acceptable version of a stick of butter with good mouth feel. Yum. Satisfied with my quick détour, I hopped back on my bike and managed to get to therapy on time with a grander feeling than a minute victory. read more

Solid light roast pour overs here, although it takes a while to make it. Can buy beans. Not as much food variety as some of their other locations but they always have a few good carby items. Spacious, bright and kind of hip. When the pandemic is not in full swing, there's even a few really work-friendly tables with places to plug into. read more

I really like this place although I'm not a coffee drinker. They have baked goods and hot food as well. Wasn't hungry so didn't try the food, but will come back to try their waffle! I had a mocha and the only complaint I had was it wasn't hot enough. Other than that I got a beautiful unicorn on it so I was happy lol. Just... not good. I work in this building, and I've given Pallet a try a handful of times since they opened. I haven't had a single good cup of coffee here yet. The only thing I have ordered is an Americano, and each time it's watery with no crema. It tastes like very average drip coffee, maybe from a hotel continental breakfast. But the rest of the office raves, so I keep trying it again, and each time being disappointed. I do have some Pallet beans at home that make a great pot of coffee, so I know they have it in them to produce something better than the swill I've been getting. I give the Americanos 1 star, and 1 extra star for the very sweet, gentle fella who rang me in today. He was lovely. read more

Liked this place. Went there for a friday "Work from Coffee shop" , and it was good. It was not very noisy and the seating was good. The coffee was top notch as well. Especially liked the salted caramel brownie, the granular salt crystals on top was a nice touch. Will visit again for another day of "Friday work from Coffee shop" sometime soon. read more

I have been in here probably 20 times now. Flat white is consistently excellent. Long black is consistently excellent. Breakfast sandwich is amazing! Staff great you as you enter the door. They don't wear masks though and I wish they did still.
