Didn't love the options here, they also didn't offer any half and half or cream options

Nordic Salmon Toast, Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookie, Rooibos Tea

Very positive experience. The barista that took my order was so friendly and made sure to put me at a table where there would be room to store the big instrument I was carrying. They were pretty busy but the assigned seating system took the stress out of finding and choosing a place to sit. Nicely designed place, both in terms of aesthetic and the layout, which fits in lots of seating but isn't cramped. I got the Nordic salmon toast, a walnut chocolate chip cookie, and a rooibos tea. All great! Fresh toppings and tasty dill cream cheese on the toast. The cookie was really really good, soft, buttery, chewy, packed with big chunks of chocolate. The tea, although it was just a regular brewed tea, was particularly nice too. They removed the tea leaves before giving it to me and it was brewed perfectly strong with a deep flavour. The prep time for the food was fast enough that I was in and out in about half an hour. Will probably make a lunch stop here again.

Pallet coffee roasters was a cute little coffee spot that we had on our Vancouver bucketlist. Walking in the coffee spot was filled with quiet chatter and laughter. We got to the cashier/barista and she was so patient with my boyfriend asking for pumps of vanilla or caramel. She kindly explained that they were slowly getting rid of vanilla syrup and transferring to other flavors. Instead, she offered that he get the Top Shelf. Which has notes of raspberry, black tea, chocolate and floral with lime (we even bought a bag to bring home - $25!) The pastries were also very yummy! They came cold but he and i didn't mind so much! The croissant came toasted! Very good!

Great cafe in downtown Vancouver! Love the space - plenty of seating and big glass windows. Coffee is solid and the pastries are delicious. The almond croissants are flaky and the cookies are also great! A perfect treat.

The food was amazing! Probably the best breakfast I've had in Vancouver. The coffee was yummy but isn't something I would go out of my way for again. I do think it's worth trying for yourself though. I had a vanilla latte and make your own breakfast sandwich. The staff was kind and the cafe was beautiful. I would highly recommend this place!

Very average coffee, food isn't super fresh. People and service is fine. Plenty of comfortable seating. Overall - go to a different place if you can

Matcha latte Matcha latte was what I ordered, it was creamy but a bit bland. The decor is nice and the staff was amazingly helpful and gave me many other suggestions on where to eat etc. would definitely come back and get something else next time

    Cute, trendy interior

Great quality coffee in a very cute and trendy coffee shop. They bake their own pastries and I was lucky enough to get the bluberry yuzu muffin straight out of the oven. It did take a while to get my coffee but this cafe is a must try when in the area.

A soothing place for my morning wake up.

A soothing place for my morning wake up with a friendly barista. It wasn't busy at all and that's what made me relax that much more. This place is very Vancouver with the plants and naked wood.

I got a simple latte here, and it was average. It's not bad, but nothing special. I like how bright the actual cafe is. #ContestEntry

Latte was good. Service was arrogant, elitist. I should have explained to the barista that this is a coffee shop, not a nightclub.

Something pulled me toward JJ Bean....and with it being a local business it made it even a sweeter deal. I like my coffee strong, black, piping hot and served in a quality cup. So, I just keep it simple. Large Dark Roast with an Everything Bagel, which really hit the spot. The bagel was fresh, tasty and definitely a favourite. Their Rhubarb Danish took me back to my childhood in Switzerland, as it was a homemade family regular. The carefully blended sweet and sour rhubarb weaved into the perfectly baked pastry finished with toasted almonds. All of that...followed by a sip of what I can only rightly name as a cup of exquisite ground beans with character....... Yeah....I want my coffee to have character. Yup JJ. You most certainly have my attention.

I popped in hot off a glowing recommendation by a colleague. It did not disappoint!…read more I had a latte and cheese scone today . For those reading my other reviews, the basics are my baselining tool when trying a new place. The latte was as good as I've had them. The roast used was slightly acidic, fruity (to me) and had a little pleasant lingering palate. It like to sit with my drinks and take them slowly and this one was enjoyable to the last sip. The scone was excellent. The cheesy crisp was perfect. and texture was light but firm. The ambiance was extremely comfortable. The table layout alone is worth the stop. I would love to bring five friends for stop here. I LOVE the seating configurations. So many ways to use a fixed seating layout. It was quiet when I stopped by, and I hope these guys are far more busy the rest of the time. Gems like these deserve to be packed.

The cappuccino was also well done; the coffee cut nicely through the milk and stayed balanced. The hot chocolate deserves a special mention -- one of the best we've had. My kid finished the whole thing, which says a lot. For food, we tried the ham and cheese pastry, which was light, crispy, and nicely melty inside. The marshmallow popcorn chocolate cookie was delicious and chewy, though it felt slightly overbaked -- most of the chew came from the marshmallow rather than the dough. The breakfast sandwich was decent if you're in a hurry, but nothing particularly unique and the least impressive item we tried. The aesthetic was dark and retro, fitting perfectly with the Gastown vibe. Warm lighting near the seating made it a cozy spot to get some work done or relax before heading out. Overall, I'd happily come back for the coffee and warm snacks. Great spot for small groups -- I'd say up to about six people.

Happy to discover that this place was nice and quiet inside so would definitely consider coming back here again. Food was awesome. I absolutely loved my Shakshuka. Might be the best Shakshuka I've ever had. Not that I'm any authority figure on what a Shakshuka should taste like. But I really enjoyed this one. The combination of flavors, the runny egg yolks, the gooeyness of the cheese...it was just such a wonderfully comforting and belly warming meal. I saw a Cinnamon Honey Latte on the board and decided to order that for my drink. These days, I can never tell when the word "Latte" is being used to describe a coffee beverage or whether it's being used to describe a beverage that has milk in it. A Matcha latte for example, tends to just be a sweetedned Matcha beverage with milk in it. No coffee thrown in. I was kinda hoping this Cinnamon Honey Latte would be milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. It turned out to be a coffee beverage. No complaints about it. It's on me for assuming that it was milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. I should have probably asked our server about the beverage before simply ordering it. Will make sure to do that if/when we end up here again. Kinda had my eye on the Turkish Apple Tea though so might just order that next time and the whole "Latte" dilemma wouldn't be an issue with that. My daughter's Avocado Toast looked super yummy as well. Might try ordering that next time, although Michelangelo's Mediterranean Spread was also kinda calling out to me!
