I am not a big coffee fan. Got to try out their ice brew coffee. Had it with couple of shots of vanilla and hazelnut sweetener/syrup. It was not bad. The taste is very rich in coffee flavor (yes that means it is somewhat bitter or too bitter for me). Overall, it was good.

The drinks have cute artwork and taste pretty good! That cinnamon bun is mostly just a bunch of dough and caramel though.

I stopped here recently for a mocha and a cinnamon bun; the mocha had a really nice flavour, fairly rich and a bit sweet, but the cinnamon bun just tasted like unremarkable sweet bread with caramel poured on top. The interior is quite stylish, but the layout is actually a bit awkward for a coffee shop, with a lot of seats crammed off into one corner out of sight of everything else. It's a perfectly good coffee shop as far as I've experienced, but not one of my favourites.

* Bright new location * JJ Bean continues to expand around Vancouver. I spotted this brand new location in the old Maxine's spot. They have made it extremely bright inside, with a silver coloured cavernous ceiling that seems to act like those metal wings you see in the movies to give people a suntan on their face. Combined that with a lot of light natural wood and it was BRIGHT. I had an espresso. It was a bit sloppy in the cup, but it was pulled correctly flavour wise. I imagine they'll work the presentation kinks out as they get more used to things. Perhaps the brightness was throwing the barista off a bit! In any case, good taste overall. Had some drip coffee and latte here. Nice interiors but the staffs need to clean up the tables more often.. Every table was filled with emptied plates and cups. Regardless of this I liked their latte. Pretty good :) Loved the high ceiling too.

Lovely staff and delicious pastries and coffee. Neat little outdoor area to enjoy the city or stay inside in a more quiet area.

Happy to discover that this place was nice and quiet inside so would definitely consider coming back here again. Food was awesome. I absolutely loved my Shakshuka. Might be the best Shakshuka I've ever had. Not that I'm any authority figure on what a Shakshuka should taste like. But I really enjoyed this one. The combination of flavors, the runny egg yolks, the gooeyness of the cheese...it was just such a wonderfully comforting and belly warming meal. I saw a Cinnamon Honey Latte on the board and decided to order that for my drink. These days, I can never tell when the word "Latte" is being used to describe a coffee beverage or whether it's being used to describe a beverage that has milk in it. A Matcha latte for example, tends to just be a sweetedned Matcha beverage with milk in it. No coffee thrown in. I was kinda hoping this Cinnamon Honey Latte would be milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. It turned out to be a coffee beverage. No complaints about it. It's on me for assuming that it was milk with cinnamon and honey thrown in. I should have probably asked our server about the beverage before simply ordering it. Will make sure to do that if/when we end up here again. Kinda had my eye on the Turkish Apple Tea though so might just order that next time and the whole "Latte" dilemma wouldn't be an issue with that. My daughter's Avocado Toast looked super yummy as well. Might try ordering that next time, although Michelangelo's Mediterranean Spread was also kinda calling out to me!

Ordered a mimosa, flat white with oat milk, Turkish coffee and shakshouka to share. Pros: - delicious food and drinks which came out quickly - attentive service with a brief and delightful explanation of Turkish coffee and the Turkish delight it came with (BTW, a must try if you've never had the chance to) - very cute decor with portrait art all over the walls Notes: - we walked from the apartment, but the inside streets in that English Bay Area has some free residential parking if you're okay with a bit of a hunt - there are dining tables and seating available outside, but not heated - signs posted at the tables to be mindful of the limited seating and to try to limit stay to an hour

The barista was very friendly and eager to talk about the menu. She checked to make sure my drink was sweet enough when she gave it to me and asked how everything was as I was leaving. Asparagus & asiago quiche: The quiche itself was okay - I liked the flavour but it kind of had the reheated texture - but they put some fresh arugula and black pepper on top which was very nice. Mocha cookie: Top tier cookie. Nice coffee flavour, not too sweet, perfectly crispy but not crunchy. Lychee latte: Just steamed milk and lychee flavour, no espresso. I asked for half sweet, and there was just enough lychee flavour to get the essence of lychee without making it a very sweet drink. Although I didn't try the coffee, this does seem like a good place for coffee nerds. They have different varieties of brewed coffee you can try in store and beans for sale.

My family and I had a walk at Lonsdale Quay on the August long weekend. We don't usually come here,…read moreso we decided to have a coffee at C41 in the Lonsdale Quay Market. It's a very hot weather, so we ordered an iced dirty matcha. The owner who was also the barista asked if we knew what the dirty matcha was. We said yes. It was coffee + matcha powder from Japan. Once he prepared all the ingredients, he asked us to look at the coffee matcha in a cup. He poured it into a cup of cold milk. We grabbed the beverage and tried it right away. It was GREAT!! It tasted fruity coffee matcha flavour. He worried some people would taste the bitterness, so he asked if we would like to add syrup or sugar. We did not need to add any sweetness to ruin the original delicious flavour. The original flavour was the best. I would recommend people to buy coffee from this coffee shop. The owner paid attention to details and made good coffee. This was not my first time to have coffee here. I had latte and one more coffee beverage here in the past. They were all good. LOL again I would not choose Tim Hortons or Starbucks coffee IF I have a choice.

This was my first time at this location but I have been to other JJs before and I always love their baked goods. The matcha latte was a LITTLE powdery but alright. I've also experienced that the matcha latte at the UBC JJ Bean usually isn't prepared properly (as of probably 2022 which is the last time I got matcha there) and figured it was just a location thing but now I'm wondering if it's just something about the franchise. This cafe is a little small but they've arranged it with plenty of seating inside and a few tables outside too. Nice environment, modern but comfortable.
